Anybody else gone to ios 6 and lost sound?!
Upgraded to ios 6 just then and lost all sound?! No idea why...
Hi everyone... I had this issue but seemed to fix it!!Try this...
Go in to the 'Clock' App...
Edit a previously set alarm (may also work if you set a new one)...
Sound...
Select a song from the 'Songs' section...
Save...
As soon as I did this, my volume buttons began to work, and the volume bar was visible in the Music App.

I lost all my music too. What I don't get is that when my iphone is connected to Itunes, the music appears there (i even can play it), but the device doesn´t have it. I try to sync it but it doesn't work. What can I do?
Help please!!!I went into Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network.and changed my APN in the 'Cellular Data' section from idata.o2.co.uk to wap.o2.co.uk.
wap.02.co.uk will not work for you, that is my provider's setting. I would contact Telcel and see what your APN settings should be, but I get the impression having read through many conversations now that the upgrade to iOS5 sometimes changes these settings.
I left the 'Visual Voicemail' and the 'MMS' settings the same and everything seems to be working ok...
Oh - and I did lose my music after. I've managed to restore my purchased by going to the iTunes store on my phone and dowloading them all again.

My aunt recently upgraded her software to ios 6 and lost all of her contacts. However, when I updated my software this did NOT happen. She hasn't backed up to iCloud, so does anyone know of a way to restore her contacts without the iCloud?
Her contacts would be wherever she put them
The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service regularly. If she failed to do this, then they are likely gone. -

This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

Doesn't sound like you have iCloud? If not, then no, you are out of luck....

i up dated to the ios 5 and lost a few things like photos and contacts but then went to a concert and took photos when i came home i restored from last back-up got my old pictures back but lost the new ones. Is there any way i can recover the new ones?

Check for previous backups in iTunes. Use iPhone Backup Extractor and extract contacts from iTunes backup if they exist.

The ones on personal computer are important to my husband as he has many for work/bills, etc. How do I get the favorites back for my personal computer and avoid this happening again? Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
You can re download iTunes purchases for free if necessary > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -

If your back up was successful, then just resync. The books are there. If they are not, simply go back to the bookstore and redownload them for free.

I have an iPhone 4s in the UK with EE, I recently upgraded to iOS 8 and lost the ability to access cellular data.
I've upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 with no improvement.
I've reset network settings on both versions with no positive result.
I can't rollback to iOS 7 as apple has stopped signing the build.
I realise the 4s is fairly old tech but this experience has been quite time consuming and incredibly frustrating as I still haven't managed to resolve the issue. I had been holding back to upgrade to the new generation of iPhone but this experience and the negative press has made me seriously consider other options.Here is what you can try,
Hold both the power and home buttons until the device powers off, may take 10sec. Let go of both as soon as screen goes black.
Open itunes on your computer and plug in your cable to the computer but NOT the phone.
Once itunes is open hold down the home button on phone and plug in cable and continue holding home button until you see the connect to iTunes logo on screen. iTunes will give a msg that a device has been detected in recovery mode. Now select restore and do not disconnect until you see your device in iTunes again. -
I inherited an iphone 4 from my daughter 1 month ago. I updated, upon prompt on phone, to ios 7 and lost the ability to send MMS to any phone other than an iphone.
I have been to Apple, AA & T, and our no contract carrier and NO ONE knows what happened or how to help.
