Anybody got personal hotspot working on iPad 3 in AUSTRIA?

Non of my friends got the personal hotspot feature working on their iPads 3 using t-mobile as carrier.
I even tried a SIM card, which works fine with my iPhone 4 providing the personal hotspot but no respective function on the iPad 3.
Did someone succeed with t-mobile Austria (and if yes, how?) or any other Austrian operator?

  • Personal hotspot working via BlueTooth but NOT working via wi-fi

    Hi,
Would appreciate some help with this! Using an iPhone 4, just upgraded to iOS 4.3, and trying to get personal hotspot working.
Basically, see subject ^ .. I can't get it working. Devices (I've tried iMac, iPad) can see the wireless network created by the iPhone, begins to connect (and appearing connected, from the iPhone) but isn't actually online. Though, I was able to pair my computer and phone and create a network connection via personal hotspot that way. But I want to use wifi, and let others use it...
I'm on Bell Mobility in Canada. Any help greatly appreciated!

  • HT203302 How to get Personal Hotspot working consistently?

    Hi All,
I have an iPhone 5s 16gb and an iPad Air 32gb (non cellular).
I'm having issues with the personal hotspot working/not working intermittently.  It never connects first time, even though wireless,Bluetooth and hotspot are all turned on, I have to toggle them off then on again for my iPad to pick up my iPhone.
Even then my iPhone says I have one device connected but iPad doesn't show as connected and wont work, again toggling on and off seems to rectify this and it will connect after a couple more attempts.
If I leave my iPad for a couple of minutes and it sleeps the connection is lost again and I have to go through the rigmarole of toggling everything on and off again to get it reconnected.
I was led to believe that with IOS8 the personal hotspot experience was supposed to be a lot easier, it certainly doesn't appear that way at the moment............if anything it's worse. You would have thought that this would have been a piece of functionality that should work flawlessly but Apple appear to have dropped the ball on this one.
Wondered if anyone else is having similar issues? Maybe I have missed a setting somewhere that I don't know about but if anyone can help that would be great.
    Thanks, Andy.

  • After the last update(7.1.2) i couldn't find personal hotspot in my iPad 2.

after the last update(7.1.2) i couldn't find personal hotspot in my iPad 2 Wifi+Cellular. I did everything like reset network setting, restore to factory setting and set up as a new iPad but no change. My iPhone 5's carrier is 16.2 and after update to 7.1.2 it automatically ask me for carrier update but my iPad 2 ask nothing and the carrier is 16.1. Please, help me to solve this problem.

The Personal Hotspot feature is not available on the iPad 2. I have no idea how you could have been using it before as you claim. BTW, your screenshots do not show up.

Assuming you are using OSX, connect iphone ny usb then go to system preferences. Go to network pane and scroll down to "wheel" and from the drop down select service order. If you see the iphone then drag it to the top of the list then select apply.

  • EZDrummer and Leopard compatability. Has anybody got it to work.

Just got my Mac mini and have been trying to get EZDrummer to work in garageband 08. I open up garage band and use a software track, but when I drop down the instrument generator there is no EZDrummer option anywhere.
Has anybody got this to work? If so what version and am I doing everything right in Garageband?

While I'm not on Leopard (got the disc, still waiting till the coast is clear) I did hit a few bumps in the road w/ EZD initially. I believe I had to update to the latest version, but now that that's cleared up, the program works great. Try dropping an email to Toontrack, their Customer Service is outstanding.

  • Anybody got a better work flow for backing up multiple shoot day projects?

Many of my projects are shot over multiple days. I import media at the end of each day and back up the event to another drive before deleting media from cameras/cards. So on day 2 I have one of three work flows for updating my back-ups.
    1. If I'm feeling lucky. I delete the previous back-up project from the back-up drive. And then make a new copy of the original event and add the date to the title after the word copy.
    2. I make a new copy of the event to the backup drive and date it. When it's done copying and been verified I delete the back-up event from the same back-up drive.
    3. I've just started copying new clips from the original media folder in the original event to the back-up project. It's more work keeping track of all the newly added media files and there is more chance of making an ommision.

    What you need:
You will need two identical external drives and a copy of Carbon Copy Cloner. CCC is free. The drives could be USB 2 if all you are doing is backing up. If you plan on editing with the drive(s), you'll want firewire. Each needs to be large enough to contain the raw card contents for the duration of your gig.
    The Process:
At the end of the first day's recording, connect the two drives to your computer (if firewire, daisy chain them / if USB, you'll need two USB 2.0 ports)
On the first hard drive (Drive 1) create a folder - call it BigDealLecture
Inside of BigDealLecture, create a folder and use the nameing convention  "BDL_Date_card number for that day" - so if you used 2 cards today, you should create BDL_2012-02-15_01 and BDL_2012-02-15_02
Attach your card reader or camera to the system.
Lock the cards so they can not be erased
Insert Card 1 into the reader
Select ALL contents of the card and copy them to the folder you created for the first card for today
When it is complete, eject the card, insert card 2, copy its contents to the folder for card 2
    eject the card
Launch CCC and do a clone of Drive 1 to Drive 2. You can set it to do a complete block by block clone or an incremental backup. Either will work.
When finished cloning, test a random sample of the clips on both drives to make sure they work.
When satisfied the copies work, put Drive 2 in the hotel safe.
Put the Drive 1 in a place where you can grab it if there is an emergency in the night and erase the cards to get ready for the next day.
Take Drive 1 with you to the lecture site the next day.
    Rinse and repeat daily.
When the conference is over, send one of the drives via FedEx or some other same day service to your office. Pack the second drive in your bags for the trip home.
A note: If you have enough downtime durning the conference between obligations, you can do the transfer from the cards to Drive 1 on site and do the clone when you get back to your room. Don't unlock and erase the cards until you are satisfied the copy/clone process was without incident.
    Have fun.

  • Do the iPhone 4 give the gps position over personal hotspot to an iPad 2 wifi only?

    Hello
I want to buy an iPad 2 wifi only.
I have already an iPhone 4.
Do the iPhone 4 give the gps position over personal hotspot to an iPad 2 wifi only?
So I don't need to buy a iPad 2 wifi+3G only for the GPS.
    Thanks.

I have a WiFi only iPad1. I use a Verizon MIFI 2200 hotspot device that is about the size of a larger, thicker credit card. It easily fits into a shirt pocket. It does not connect to the iPad by any cable whatsoever. It is a free standing device. You can connect up to five devices at a time with the 2200. However, like any cell phone, 3G, wireless connection like this, in some areas the reception/connection is great - in other places - not so much. Sort of the anti - "can you hear me now?"

  • PERSONAL HOTSPOT MISSING IN IPAD MINI

Personal hotspot is missing on my ipad mini!! can anybody help me how to get it back or is it the issue with the carrier?

    Hi,
I faced the same problem with my iPad mini iOS 8.1 version software.
After checking support communities I tried resetting the software by holding the power and the menu key together for about 15 seconds till the apple logo appeared and resetting the iPad. sometime after trying to 2 or 3 times yesterday the hotspot menu appeared but the same was not working. It always said contact carrier for using the same.
Then today when I went to carrier they could not solve the problem.
While checking again I noticed after restarting my iPad I again lost the hotspot menu.
Once again I started from beginning. In my case I could find the solution as given below:
    1) Go to settings
    2) Go to cellular data
    3) Go to APN settings
here you will find 3 set up options:
    a) cellular data
apn : kindly type the GPRS settings of your iPad internet services provider
    example: aircelgprs or aircelgprs.po
    something like that
    leave username and password blank.
    b) lte setup options should be used by late users same system as above kindly check with your service provider for the same.
    c) personal hotspot
APN: pls set up same as the one using gprs setting or lte setting in case you are using lte.
    leave username and password blank
after this i went back to main settings menu and restarted the phone. Hotspot menu was back with all its glory. I reset the phone again and it was still there.
I feel this solution may work since it feels systematically and logically ok.
I hope this solves the issue for all my friends worldwide who face this problem.
Thanks and Have a nice day with your iPhone or iPad.

  • Difficult to get personal hotspot working, need 10 retries!

The hotspot creation from OSX was the main reason I upgraded to Yosemite. But for some reason, on my system. It would not always work. When I click on it from OSX's wifi menu, it will attempt to connect (with the rings flashing) but it then it would error out. To get it to work, I usually have to keep hitting over 10 times, and eventually it might work. How do I fix this?

Turn off you Wifi everywhere and try the following:
I found a solution to USB tethering problems since recent firmware upgrades and share that here in case anyone else is having the same issue:
Since the introduction of the firmware update 4.3.2 or somewhere thereabouts, and personal hotspot implementation, "Tether using USB" has disappeared from the menu.
Semantically, where they've put it makes no sense (except financially, from forcing frustrated former users of USB tethering to use the wifi personal hotspot, forget, and rack up data charges with their carriers) - USB tethering is hiding under "Personal Hotspot" and the listed instructions don't work unless certain conditions are met. The iPhone shows up as a digital camera only under My Computer in Windows 7 until I follow the list below.
Here's how I got it to work today. There may be better ways and you may not need to take all steps but if you're like me you just want to get it working and carry on.
Solution: (assuming your iPhone is plugged in via USB, and Personal Hotspot is OFF (under Network | Personal Hotspot, and you're not connected to the Internet any other way....
    0.     Close iTunes if it's open
    1.    Turn Wifi off on your laptop
    2.     Turn Wifi off on your iPhone
    3.     Go into the Network | Personal Hotspot menu and turn P.H. on.
    4.     I get a dialog querying whether I want to turn Wifi on, or to use USB or Bluetooth. Choose the second option
    5.     Wait a little bit and it should find the device correctly and connect you to the internet. Verify with a web page.
Feel free to update or eliminate the list above and the assumptions but there you go, it works.
