Anybody have luck getting .TIVO files converted to .MP4?
Spent the weekend trying but was unable to get a good conversion.
Anybody have knowledge on this (for Windows PC)?
Videora doesn't work (unless you know some tweak I have to do)
Sorry that info is quite out dated... While yes I can get the MPG-2 file out with the direct dump, the res Tivo uses it modified and still requires their codec to decode. While I have converters that say they can convert .TIVO files and they do, they all end up with the compresses image because of how Tivo altered the encoding. Hence me coming here asking about NEW info with todays software.

Did anyone have luck getting the $200 SMARTPHONE recycling credit promo?
I purchased 4 smart phones on Black Friday and was promised by the Verizon store rep that I would receive $200 for every smart phone turned in to the recycle program through a promo code that would be emailed to me in a "few days" but then never received the codes. I have visited the store where I purchased the phones and received more promises but.... so far all I've gotten is the run around and confusion by Verizon. Has anyone made it through the gauntlet to receive the codes? Bait and switch?
Been on the phone twice over the last two days with the recycle folks but they know nothing about the $200 smart phone turn-in promotion. They did give me some promo codes that were good to bring the value of the phones I am turning in up to $100 but still not the $200 I was promised at the dealer. I did finally reach someone at a "no kidding" Verizon owned store (some stores say Verizon on them but are actually just "authorized dealers") who told me that she would personally handle the phone turn ins if I bring the phones in to her. I'll do that on Monday and post the results afterwards.

I have a I mac and I have Istat Pro and I wanna find how many mph it is running at!
Fan speeds are normally measured in rpm's, not mph's. You would need to know the dimensions (esp circumference) of the fan to do a mph conversion - you'd have to take your Mac apart to discover the size of the fans.
iStatPro will tell you the fan rpm's, as will iStatMenus
Is there a specific reason you are concerned about the fan speed, or are you just curious? Basically, as long as the fan doesn't sound like a jet engine, things are fine. -
What online file converter do you recommend?
Does anyone have a good free file converter that you have downloaded from online? I don't want to get stuck with some type of virus, etc. Thanks!

Getting remote file using FTP Server Issue in OSB
Hi Guys,
I have configured a FTP server on my local system and I created a proxy service to get file from ftp location to some other location but it fails . I used ftp protocol for getting file
and my ftp location is D:\host\ftp and it has another folder called osb . I used ftp as protocol and EndPointURI is ftp://localhost/. It fails to get files and shows error message like

In case of Business Service, writing a file to ftp location (i.e ftp://localhost/ means D:\host\ftp\osb) working.
I used service account for both proxy,BS to connect . osb is username and same as password.
Can Any one please suggest me How to solve this issue?

Can we do the pooling directly using FTP protocol like JMS protocol in OSB with out using FTP JCA Adapter.I did in such a way but it fails. For pooling files the mentioned endpoint uri is as ftp://localhost/ and it actual path is D:\host\ftp and ftp has another folder called osb here i have to get the files from this osb Can any one suggest me if there is any problem with the ftp protocol end point.

File adapter polling and getting the file name 11g Jdeveloper
I am using JDeveloper 11g. My process is something like;
A file adapter reads a XML file
This triggers the BPM process, file content is sent to start activity as message
I have to get the file name that is read by file adapter.
How to do that? Any help is appreciated.

This is a very simple task in JDeveloper 11g, file adapters are linked to the receive activity, here there is a tab called Properties which you can use to extract the file name. Please follow the steps below:
1. Create a Simple Type variable of string type, call it fileName_var or any name you wish.
2. Open the Receive activity in your bpel project.
3. Scroll down to jca.file.FileName and double click on the value column, click on the browse button (...), select Variable, then click the search icon
4. Locate your recently created variable
5. Now when your project runs it will assign the file name to this variable, you can use this same approach also to pull the directory, file size, etc.

Like you said.. steps are simple and clearly mentioned in guide.
1. create a variable of type string
2. after configuring the file adapter , go to corresponding receive activity , go to properties tab
3. search for a property with name as jca.file.FileName . This basically keeps track of file name
4. for this property, give the value as name of variable created in step 1 above
5. Use this variable anywhere in assign / transform

After install, did you go to Apple menu > Software Update to update your FCE to the latest version?

How can I read on my Apple Arabic files of Times New Roman or Arial fonts made in PC? when I get the files the Arabic letters are separate and not joined. Is there a common font in Arabic that can convert the Arabic PC Windows files to my Apple?

Do not use MS Word for Mac, it does not support Arabic. Instead use Mellel, TextEdit, Nisus Writer or OpenOffice. Try the font Geeza Pro if others do not work.

I want to reduce pdf size up to 5mb for mailing perpose, anybody have any option to reduce it since I have used optimizer & reduce file size option but its not helpful.
The optimizer can reduce space, but some things can't get smaller. Text for example. Play with the settings, examine the results of Audit Space Usage.
Or give up. Even 5 MB is too large for a bulk mailing, by far. Instead put it on your web site and mail a link - done! -
I have Elements 8. Raw converter for my previous Nikon D300s worked ok. Now I have D750 cannot open Raw files. I have downloaded lastest Raw converter from Adobe 8.8

Yes. Thanks. I misled myself based on another post. Successfully did this by selecting "File," "Save a copy ..." then choosing "for CS4 or later (IDML)"
It required some patience and several tries, but I think that was due to hardware (memory) being overloaded by CC Cloud version or something. It was a 50 MB, 500-page file and took 17 minutes to convert/save,
Re-capping: from CCloud to CS5, don't use "Export" (to IDML); use "Save as" or "Save a copy" and select "for CS4 or later (IDML)".

I am having an issue burning DVDs on Final Cut Pro X. After 15 minutes, I get a QuickTime Error:0. Anybody have a solution to this?
I'm sure the pros will be along to ask what your settings are. Although this may not be exactly helpful, I did find compressor to be much more robust for burning DVDs. This could partially be because it includes a template to convert you movie into correct DVD format. I was quite pleased with the outcome after multiple failed attempts using FCPX alone.
