3. Go to the Legal Entities tab.
4. Query up the legal entity
5. Select the Update option on the Legal Entity line.
6. Select the Balancing Segments tab.
7. Set up a balancing segment for the legal entity.
8. Retest the issue.
9. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

Well, I hope my experience helps someone in future as it appears nobody knows the answer.
But apparently this has to do with problematic files- either the file itself, or the file name, not sure.
How do I know this? because Finder also barfs on the same files. I was copying 30k+ tracks to a new drive and as iTunes was balky I decided to do it with Finder [yes, this creates other problems but at least it gets the files where I need them].
I tried selecting all of the tracks at once and dragging them, and letting Finder do the work overnight, but when I cam back in the G5 had gone into blower apoplexy and had to be restarted by pulling the plug. So, I started grabbing ever-smaller bunches of folders to narrow down the issue and to pitch the bad files. I did NOT try to identify the bad file, just the folder.

I'm having all sorts of problems with iTunes 7.0. When the update came out I applied it and got better results, but when I came back to the office today, iTunes informs that that
'The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown errir [-50] occurred'
And this is on a Mac!
Anybody know what the heck that means?
I am pretty sure that my previous issues were related to the size of the library [at 30,000 tracks it's a lot but not at all unusual]. But this has me stumped.

Anybody seen this error message?

I recently replaced the internal HD on my G4 Quicksilver tower and get this error message when I dock my iPod (40GB with click wheel):
"The system extension /System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext/Contents/Plugins/iPodFireWireTranspo rtSupport.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update."
Things I've tried:
1.) Updated iPod software and iTunes.
2.) Deleted the extension from the Library. I dragged it to the trash, but it didn't actually delete. The next time I fired up iTunes I didn't get the error message, but I have ever since.
This error is more of an annoyance and doesn't seem to affect the docking process and the transfer of music from iTunes to my iPod.
But still.
Anybody have a similar problem and a solution. Thanks in advance

You should certainly be alarmed. Well, sorta actually this might prevent you from making any changes, but other than that you should be fine, but fix it. Is there a dump file created? Are there any other processes going down?

If you have any peripherals connected to the MacBook, disconnect and reboot. See if Console still reports those messages.
Boot from your install disk and run Disk Utility.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
Check available disk space.
Control or right click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop. Click "Get Info". Under the General tab you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is at least 10% available disk space, 15% is better.

I received this error after increasing my thread (POSIX and pthread) limits in the glibc library (local_lim.h) and ran a thread program (shown below) to test the thread limit. Will someone explain exactly what this error is and if there is a way to fix it?

BUG?? Exeption handling brakes a Loop?! (PL/SQL executed by C) Anybody know this ????

In C program I have a PL/SQL block with WHILE LOOP. Inside the loop I have SELECT statement with a begin..end arroung it and with EXCEPTION WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND for internal block. In this exception I have no RAISE statement. So, I expect the loop will be not broken by NO_DATA_FOUND error.
After control comes to the EXCEPTION NO_DATA_FOUND the loop is not continue anymore (but error is not populated out of this begin..end.) If EXCEPTION NO_DATA_FOUND is commented by -- the loop runs completely.
Is it known bug? Does anybody get something like this?
To be more specific, my EXEC SQL EXECUTE .. END EXECUTE block looks like this:

BEGIN
WHILE .. LOOP
begin SELECT ...
exception when NO_DATA_FOUND then NULL;
when others then ... RAISE;
end;
END LOOP;

Call the procedure from another "wrapper" procedure. In the wrapper, place the call within to your existing procedure in a
for i in 1..3 loop

end loop;I think that'd be easier than trying to work on controlling everything from within a single procedure. You could even set up a PACKAGE where the wrapper was the only public procedure, where your current procedure is private, and thus, can't be called outside of the wrapper, by accident. --=cf

-9672 - do you know this error?

Hey I just got a new Airport Extreme Base Station and everything except the printer is working well. I use an HP c3100 all-in-one printer and whenever I try to add the printer I get an error message that just says, "An error occurred while trying to add printer -9672" Does anyone know what 9672 means? Thanks.

I was setting up two laptops (a PowerBook G4 and an iBook G4) to print with an HP PSC 1400 series printer, and on one of the laptops (the PowerBook), I was able to add it through the printer utility just fine, and with the other laptop (the iBook, which had a more recent driver even), it gave me the 9672 error.
Since I couldn't figure out where the printer drivers were stored on the PowerBook to try and see if using the older driver would fix the problem, I discovered something in this thread:

I did everything they said on this page, but my printer was not in the resulting list (on the last instruction, where it says "Select the relevant HPIJS or Gimp-Print Printer Model."). The problem was that I didn't have the relevant HPIJS files installed.
I had to go to:

I created an album yesterday in iphoto. I then made a slideshow, which i put music from my itunes to. Everything worked fine until today, after I added more photos to it (supplied by a friend on CD).... Now I keep getting a pop up error message regarding various jpegs:
The volume for “IMG_0169.JPG” cannot be found. Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again.
Can't seem to get rid of this pop up and i don't know what it means... and i want to be able to burn the slideshow to a DVD-R for a presentation tomorrow... Please help! Thanks!

Hi there. I did the Import to Library, but still am getting error message with some of the images... So I give up on using those particular images. Part of the problem, I think, is that some of them (but not all) were on a Read-Only CD.... the images that I dragged and dropped show up in my iphoto, but can't be used....
Moving on to the next step, I have created my iphoto slideshow, with music, and now I need to be able to copy to DVD-R for others.... can I burn the disc right out of the iphoto program, or do I have to transport to iDVD (which someone else told me to do)?
