Anybody look at the MSI 6566E for overclocking?

This isn't one of the popular boards, it used the i845E chipset and has USB2.0 (part of the chipset) and LAN (also part of the chipset).
I installed one of them and while trolling in the bios I found it allows the following settings (using Northwood 2.0GHz CPU)
CPU Vcore 1.50v - 1.80v
AGP volt 1.50v - 1.80v
Vio 3.40v - 3.70v
FSB 100MHz - 200MHz
I don't have the board here any more as it went to it's real owner, but it does seem to be a good choice for you overclockers.
Anybody try it? (I am a cowerd when it comes to overclocking and a 2.0GHz CPU isn't the best candidant anyway)

I have been experimenting with overclocking my MSI 845E Max (6556E) motherboard. I've tried overclocking a P4 Northwood 1.6A and 1.8A CPU to FSB 133. On a different motherboard my 1.6A goes to FSB 133 no problem. On this board it is not stable even with Vcore adjustments.
I used WCPUID and Fuzzy Logic 4 to verify settings, etc... I noticed on WCPUID that the memory clock is about 177 MHz when the FSB is clocked to 133, corresponding to a ratio of FSB/MEM = 3/4. Is there a way to set that ratio to 1:1? Has anyone else seen this?
I've tried manually setting memory clock in the BIOS to 266 MHz but WCPUID still says its 177 MHz when overclocked to FSB133/533. Note, overclocking to 125/500 MHz FSB  corresponds to 166 MHz memory clock according to WCPUID. Is there any way around this?
At FSB 133, shouldn't the memory be clocked automatically to 133 MHz or is WCPUID wrong?
Bios 5.3 (July)
CPUs tested P4 1.6A, 1.8A
MSI 6556E with one PCI slot filled with Promise ATA100 card
GeForce4 on AGP
Dimms tested: generic 256MB single-sided DDR333 CL2, Crucial 256MB double-sided DDR333 (PC2700) CL 2.5, Crucial 256MB double-sided DDR266 CL 2.5. Note, only one slot was filled at any given time.

  • Playtech took a look at the MSI GS30 Shadow with Gaming Dock

    Playtech, the MSI reseller in New Zealand took a look at the MSI GS30 Shadow with Gaming Dock.
    The overall impression was positive
    So.....another MSI notebook to consider .....
    my gosh....how difficult to make a purchase decision....
    Quotes
    "The GS30 was described as thin and light impressing them with its look and overall build quality. The CPU, 1080p antiglare display, RAM and storage were all high points in the tiny package.
    Playtech TV also loved the touchpad and keyboard on the GS30 Shadow making for easy use. The Gaming Dock was easy to use and using both the MSI GTX960 and MSI GTX980 cards to do benchmarks they were thoroughly impressed with the scores across the board.
    MSI Dragon Centre, SoundBlaster Cinema and the System Control software were all bonuses making for easy use, overall they felt the laptop was well built with a great screen, keyboard and touchpad. While the entire package was a cool, interesting idea which can be appealing for users who want a super portable notebook during the day and a high performance gaming desktop at home."

  • IPhoto - My iPhoto is not responding. When I click on iPhoto I get a never ending spinning beachball.  I almost think it is looking in the wrong place for the pictures.  How do I redirect it back to the Mac hard drive?

    My iPhoto is not responding.  Whenever I click on the iPhoto icon I get a twirling beachball.  It is as if the machine is looking in the wrong place for the photos.  How can I see where the machine is looking to find out if this is really the problem.  How can I see the path?

    Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then the problem lies with your current library.
    If that's the case  Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
    4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    5 - Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • When I look up the creation date for files on my Macbook I get the date and month in brackets, but not the year.  Why is this and how can I look up the year?

    When I look up the creation date for files on my Macbook (using "get info", or the information window in Iphoto) I get the date and month in brackets, but not the year.  Why is this and how can I look up the year?

    Does the Date Modified column in a window set to List view show the date correctly, or does it also display it incorrectly?
    To add additional columns to a Finder (folder) window, with that window open and active open the View Options for it. You can do that by pressing Command-J or by selecting View Options from the View menu in the main menubar.

  • Anybody know whats the system requirement for installing SAP in my home pc.

    anybody know whats the system requirement for installing SAP in my home pc. I have p4 processor with 1 GB Ram. I can increase the ram to 2 GB.  Please help

    Hi friend,
    Check your RAM , even for 4.7 version you need 1gb ram for better speed, 80gb sap only will occupy, for other storage you need to maintain another hard disk, or add new hard disk with your existing hard disk to make it 120 or 160, if its 6.0 then sap only occupies 6.0, then you need some more space for additional data, you cant browse internet on sap-server (which you installed), for internet and general purposed you need to seperate the hard disk, in case of 6.0 and you want to use both internet and sap you need to have 240-300GB HDD & 2GB ram, inter core2duo processor, 3.15ghz processor etc...and if its 4.7sap and other Operating system you need to have minum 160GB hard disk and 1gb RAM for better speed and access...
    clarify if any doubts are there, system performance improves with good RAM memory...

  • System is looking in the wrong place for modules.[SOLVED]

    I did a pretty big system update last night that ended up breaking a pretty big portion of everything. No usb, network interfaces, trackpad, etc. Checking logs the biggest issue is clearly this:
    modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.26-ARCH/modules.dep: No such file or directory
    And yeah, that directory doesn't exist, there is a 2.6.27-ARCH in there though, but the system is using the 2.6.26 kernel, and 2.6.27 is not in /boot
    Ideas?

    Code:
    modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.26-ARCH/modules.dep: No such file or directory

    Hmm... modprobe manpage says that you can override the kernel version found by uname. You have to use
    modprobe --set-version 2.6.27-ARCH yourmodule
    for modprobe to look up the file in the right directory. HTH

  • How to identify and look at the sid generated for ods?

    hi all,
    Can anyone let me know how to identify the sid id generated for ods and look at the sid id generated for any ods.
    thanxs
    haritha

    Hi,
    NO SIDs are created for ODS,
    When Creating an ODS if we select BEx Reporting Check Box then the SIDs for the Master Data will be created.
    Actually SIDs are created when Activate Master data and Dimension Ids are created when we Activate Transactiona Data.
    Hope This Helps,

  • Is there a way to customize the MacBook Air Favorites Toolbar so that each favorite looks like the real logo for that website with actual colors?  Like eBay, Google, ESPN, etc....

    Is there an app or download to do this?  It's hard looking all the way across the toolbar each time I want to click on ESPN, etc.. Would be much easier if the ESPN logo was up there and easy to find.  I am currently using Mavericks.

    Many of your points are totally legitimate.
    This one, however, is not:
    …To put it another way, the design of the site seems to be geared much more towards its regular users than those the site is supposedly trying to "help"…
    The design and management of the forums for more than five years have driven literally dozens of the most valuable contributors and "regulars" away from the forums—permanently.
    The only conclusion a prudent, reasonable person can draw from this state of affairs is that Adobe consciously and deliberately want to kill these forums by attrition—without a the PR hit they would otherwise take if they suddenly just shut them down.

  • Can anybody give me the jdbc code for postgres database.

    Hello all,
    I tried to search for sample jdbc code for postgres. But I couldn't find working sample. Can anybody please post the sample jdbc code for connecting to postgres database.
    I have already added the jar file, "postgresql-8.0-312.jdbc3.jar" to the build path.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply!
    I wrote the following code, but the insert doesn't add a row.
    try {
              Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver");
              //Preparing Conenction String
              Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:postgresql://<name>:5432/sales_office_test", "sales_office_data","sales_office_data");
              PreparedStatement prepSt =  con.prepareStatement(
                                  "INSERT INTO office_personnel (office_id, salutation, firstname, lastname, email_address,"
                                  + " cellphone, phonenumber, extension, password, username) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)");
                             prepSt.setString(1, newOfficeIds);
                             prepSt.setString(2, whopperUserSalutation);
                             //Close statement
                             prepSt.close();
         } catch (ClassNotFoundException e1) {
              // TODO Auto-generated catch block
              e1.printStackTrace();
         } catch (SQLException e1) {
              // TODO Auto-generated catch block
              e1.printStackTrace();
         }If I print the connection object I get
    Sql connection value: org.postgresql.jdbc3.Jdbc3Connection@10965c3 I double checked the same query by directly executing it on the web interface to the postgres, works fine there and creates the row...
    What could be wrong.

  • Menus looking in the wrong pace for files

    Several of the pages that are getting called (clicked
    on/moused over) have had the subsection name replaced by the word
    "templates".
    This is happening to all pages which get copy corrections.
    I make my modifications to the files sitting on my local
    machine.
    I save them with "Ctrl S"
    I highlight the file in the file list that was still showing
    "local view" and then clicked the and small plug icon that makes
    the computer "connected to the remote host" I click on the blue up
    arrow.
    IT WORKS FINE WHEN:
    We start at the home page. (www.SDFTI.com.)
    Then clicked "About Us" in the menu bar. (This initial
    section's index.html page was NOT modified)
    Then put the mouse over "Who we are" to activate the drop
    down menu, and then clicked "About San Diego."
    The "About San Diego" (sandiego.html) page displays and seems
    fine. The target being called when it works like this is correctly
    shown as www.sdfti.com/about/sandiego.html.
    "About San Diego" was modified this morning.
    I was careful to only change copy and text alignment.
    HOWEVER, THE WEBSITE FAILS AFTER VISITING A MODIFIED PAGE IN
    A SECTION:
    Trying to connect to ANY of the other pages available from
    ANY of the dropdown menus in the "About SDFTI" section fails after
    visiting a modified page in that section.
    Running the mouse over these other dropdowns selections, in
    this condition, shows the target calling for an html page preceded
    by www.sdfti.com/template/*.html.
    There is a bigger problem with the Student Services section.
    I modified the copy to the index.html.
    The only links that work are those on the menu bar going to
    one defined page and the schedule point link in the left-hand image
    links.
    The links that fail are those from the dropdown menu labeled
    "links" and those from the left-hand image labled "Enjoy San Diego"
    and "Weather Links."
    What did I do wrong? How do I correct it? How do I prevent
    it?

    > the subsection name replaced by the word "templates".
    This means that you have improperly made the links in your
    template file.
    Can you upload it and post a link to it?

  • How to install the msi file for tax return

    i am having problem installing the msi file.

    The short answer is that they don't support anything but Windows.
    http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/content.aspx?doc=/content/73931.htm
    You would have to use Bootcamp and install Windows or install an emulator like Parallels and then install Windows into the Parallels emulator.
    It probably won't do any good but you could file a complaint with them over their choice to only support Windows.

  • I am looking for the .msi package for the new Adobe Acrobat X 10.1.4 I need to deploy it over a larg

    I am trying to install Adobe Reader X over a large number of computers, and need an .MSI installer package in order to deploy it silently. Does anyone have this package for me?

    You can extract MSI from EXE file using following command line
    AdbeRdr1014_en_US.exe -sfx_ne -sfx_o"<somepath>\Extract
    The extracted folder contains 10.1.4 patch file in MSP format i.e. AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp
    Then after you can use following line for complete installation
    msiexec.exe /i "[UNC PATH]\AcroRead.msi" PATCH="[UNCPATH]\AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp"

  • Looking in the wrong directory for class file

    My javabean looks like this:
    <jsp:useBean id="mailer" class="MailerBean">
    <jsp:setProperty name="mailer" property="*"/>
    <% mailer.sendMail(); %>
    </jsp:useBean>
    The actual MailerBean.class file is in ROOT/public_html/servlets directory. The file that uses the above javabean is in ROOT/public_html/clearresults directory. I have tried a bunch of different lines of code to point to the servlets directory with no success. The javabean continues to point to the ROOT/public_html/clearresults/MailerBean.class file when it should point to ROOT/public_html/servelts/MailerBean.class. How can I point the MailerBean class to the servlets directory without moving the file that uses the javabean?

    Generally you don't have to write code to say where a class is, and I don't know what "pointing" a class is. Things that run servlets and JSPs have rules about where they will look for classes. All you have to do is put your MailerBean class where the rules say to put it. Often that's a directory called something like .../WEB-INF/classes, but check out the rules for your product.

  • Glossary tab is looking in the wrong place for the Glossary file

    Running 11.0.3.268.
    I am testing the Responsive layout. In my test project, the TOC, Index, and Search tabs are all functional, but when I click the Glossary tab, I get the IE "This page can't be displayed" message. The path listed on this page is:
    C:\My_Stuff\Docs\Help Output\ResponsiveHTML5\ProfitX\template\PROFITX_2\glossary1.htm
    I can see, however, that the glossary file is actually located at:
    C:\My_Stuff\Docs\Help Output\ResponsiveHTML5\ProfitX\glossary.htm
    Can anyone tell me where can I adjust my settings so that the generated project will be able to find the glossary file?
    Thanks!

    Thank you for clarifying where I needed to look. After modifying the Glossary.slp references in the Index, Table of Contents, and Topic .slp files, I was able to get the Glossary content to show up in the generated responsive layout, at all resolutions. Getting this fixed is great. Thanks!
    Curiously though, when I now click the Search tab/button, I get this:
    Since this used to work, all I can think is that I've unintentionally broken something in an .slp file. I didn't touch any reference to Search in those files, but something isn't right. I'd appreciate it if you could glance through the recently modified sections of the .slp files (below) and let me know if anything looks amiss. Thank you.
