Anybody's Audio Driver has problem with PhotoShop CS 5?

I hate when this happened. I have downloaded the lastest version of Nvidia Quardo 2000m driver, which is 285.62. And I have also update the BIOS to 1.33. They did not work at all. However, I did not have this problem about 2 days ago.  I had exactly same Nvidia driver at the time, only the BIOS was different which was 1.27. This morning I restored the machine back to last sunday. (which is the time everything was supposed to be okay)However, I still got this problem when I opened my PhotoShop. Then, I undo the restore back to yesterday. I assume that ThinkPad W520 series is good for graphic designing or anything like this. How come I always have this problem?
Thanks.

I have been using the NVIDIA driver 285.62 (plus BIOS 1.33) with Photoshop 5.5 (64bit) with no issues. I don't think that the NVIDIA drivers are the problem here.

  • CD drive has problems with some disks (tangerine, 10.2)

My son's piano teacher burns copies of the students' recitals for the students. The first CD plays fine in this old iBook, but last years and this years mount, but when you I try to open the CD in either finder or iTunes, it repeatedly spins up to high speed and back down, and the system becomes unresponsive to the point that I have to force-quit whatever was trying to read the CD and then figure out some way to coax the OS to eject the CD.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this kind of thing might be the drive trying read faster than it's actually physically capable, and that there was some way to limit the speed in the driver settings. But I haven't figured out a good search phrase to find what I read before.
If such a thing is possible, I'd sure appreaciate a clue about where to set the CD's maximum speed, to see if it would work. (And/or any other clues about why I can't read these CDs.) I mean, this would be a good excuse to get a PPC Mac Mini before Apple dives off the deep end, but I'm really poor right now.
(Sure wish Apple would just simply start producing a parallel ix86 line and keep up the PPC line. I'm pretty sure there would be plenty of customers to for each line.)
Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about?

    Hey Joel -
I too have an ibook (clamshell 366 firewire) and my CD drive also acts up in the same way - however I also have and external drive/writer that I use to read the discs my ibook can't. I think what is happening is modern CD's are being written differently than they used to and the older clamshell drives have trouble getting all the information. For me, it usually happens when I have a disc that has a lot of info/data on it. When I place that in my clamshell drive it'll read/encode/copy most of it and then it gets 'hung-up' and I have to force-quit the app. or sometimes restart my machine. But when I place that disc in my external drive ...no problem Of course I can't say for certain, but I'm thinking the older drives just aren't capable of reading CD's (full ones!) created on newer drives.

  • Pdf reader X has problems with small pdf and printer with post script driver

    Hi friends.
I have installed new Reader X and then i saw that, when i print a very small pdf with about 50 kb and i print it on a Laserjet 4000 printer the printer has problem with the amount of data that reader 10 produces.
When i install a Postscript driver for the printer my computer makes up to 3.5MB printer data from a 50kb pdf.
When i install a PCL driver for the printer my computer makes only 350kb from the same 50kb pdf file!!!!
When i install Reader 9.3 the 50kb file becomes also only 350kb on the printer with post script driver, and i can print without problems also.
my printer has 8 MB Ram and that should be enough for 3.5MB printer data.
But when i print the pdf with 1 side only, the printer created a side who is only filled with 50% of the text, then there comes out a second page with the message.....not enough memory in the printer.
i can not change the postscript driver to a pcl driver cause our ERP System can not handle printer with PCL drivers.
Can someone help me please.........are there settings in Reader X who can solve my problem ???
Thank you very much for help!

    A. Backup before doing anything advanced is recommended but not widely used.
    B. Upgrade on vanilla plain (and updated) operatiing system goes flawlessly. Upgrade on "real" computer may depend on "status" of operating system and applications installed. You may not be the last experiencing troubles.
    C. Software vendors expect that users has nearly unlimited disk size, large memory and latest processor.

  • FYI: MS-7125 BIOS has problem with Hard Drives withNative Command Queuing (NCQ)

For those the have messed my two treads on which both ended up being cause by K8N Neo4 BIOS problem with HD's with NCQ.
Will wonders never cease? MSI Support finally conceded the BIOS has a problem with Hard Drives with NCQ and they have forwarded the problem to their programming department.
However, do not look for any results for above two weeks.
    Roger

The problem that this thread has been trying to follow is the incapability of the nVidia RAID Controller with Serial ATA Type 2.5 drives.  I know the threads has been hard to follow and part of that is because when I started the thread I had what appeared to be three totally un related problems, but all three were traced down the common problem of the incapability of RAID Controller with Serial ATA Type 2.5 drives.
The title of this thread is MS-7125 BIOS has problem with Hard Drives with Native Command Queuing(NCQ).  The statement was true at the time it was written and has nothing to do with memory problems.
Sense the thread was started MSI has fixed the BIOS part of the problem, but we have sense learned the nVidia RAID Controller Command software and its driver has problems too.  I have been working MSI Support, they have been using me to test pre-beta BIOS and Drivers soon.   Of the testing I have done the pre-beta BIOS worked and the Pre-beta 32-bit driver works.  I am assuming that the latest BIOS V1.B had as part of it included fixes was the needed fixes for working with the nVidia RAID Controller as I have test the pre-beta RAID Driver with BIOS Version V1.B as the Raid array function fine windows XP Pro 32-bit Edition.  As I have had no communications with MSI support of over a week now I am hoping for a release of 32-bit and 64-bit RAID Drivers.   But, nobody should get the hopes up, because through other backdoor sources nVidia is having a hell of a time.  One reason for this I heard is that the nVidia RAID Controller is fully software, no hardware other than the electrical drive interfaces.  Their problem started when they tried using the old 32-bit code Controller with new 64-bit hardware drivers and now they are having to totally rewrite the controller core in 64-bit code.  But, knowing my source, it may all be fiction.
The RAID Array you say is up and running, are the drives full specification SATA 2.5 in other words do the both have 3Gb/s speed and NCQ.  If you send me the full part numbers I will check the specifications a get back to you.  Because if you have nVidia RAID 0 Array you working you will be the first to have done it and there about 230 people around the world that would like to know how you did it, even MSI, who's pre-beta nVidia RAID Drivers that will work with BIOS V1.B for 32-bit Windows only and nothing for Windows XP 64, would like to know.

  • Problems with Photoshop CS5.1

Hello everyone, I'm having some problems with Photoshop, it simply doesn't work as it should. When trying to resize the brush, the cursor changes shape and if I click, it won't, for example, paint where the cursor is pointing at, but about two inches diagonally. Then, the liquify tool freezes and I have to zoom in/out in order to make it work again, the brush disappears when changing the size, and again the cursor changes into something else and doesn't make any adjustment to where it's pointing at, but to a lower section. It's annoying to keep working like this! According to the update manager, everything is up to date. My current OS is Lion 10.7.2. Does anybody know how to fix this or at least why it is happening? I asked in the Adobe forums and I was told that it was Apple's fault (obvious response haha), and that a software update should come up to fix this driver problem or something. I'm not sure of what this is but I can't work like this. Thank you in advance.

What it means is Adobe is feverishly working on a solution.  Apple has no control over Adobe's products.  They may make spec changes to allow for better support of other data formats, and the GUI, and security of the operating system, and Adobe is always in the loop on http://developer.apple.com/  If they can't make Lion work with their software, it is partly due to the immense size of their software and not being able to modify such software without significant error checking, and partly due to possible changes that Apple may have made.  One should never upgrade a production environment until one knows all one's software is compatible for all one's needs.  Having a test machine, or a test hard drive to see if an upgrade works is probably best until migrating an entire environment to a new system.  And always backup your data prior to upgrading.  A clone backup offers the quickest recovery time.  Carbon Copy Cloner is a great solution for external hard drives, and so is Superduper.

  • Problem with Photoshop Elements Printing

I have been using Photoshop Elements for a couple of years now and know it pretty well.  Today while attempting to print, a strange problem came up:  After going through the protocol to make a print, just before the image prints PE does a very fast auto correction that basically ruins all the color correction I have made on the image.  How do I disable this function?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I checked the settings under "Print", "More Options", then "Color Management" and it only has "Print Space", none of the three options that you said I should have.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

Check your color management by clicking More Options in the print dialog There are basically three options:1) Printer Manages Color2) Elements Manages color3) No color Management Make sure everything is consistent e.g. if you choose Elements manages color make sure color management is switched off in the print driver.

  • Problem with Photoshop CS4 after migration to new Mac

I just migrated from an old Mac to a new Macbook Pro running Mavericks. I'm having a problem with Photoshop CS4. Specifically, two things:
    1) When I open an image in Camera Raw, I get this error:
    Fatal error - missing component
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.framework
    2) When I try to save anything, it tells me it can't because of a program error.
I've looked around for a solution. Apparently I had to install Java, but that hasn't solved the issue. A couple of people mentioned that reinstalling would work for a similar problem. My problem with that is that my disk is on the other side of the world and my new macbook doesn't have a disk drive anyway. So I logged into my Adobe account hoping to see a download link for software I have licences for, but there isn't one.
So my question is firstly, whether there is a simpler solution to the errors I am getting and, if not, if there's a solution to reinstalling Photoshop CS4 without the disk.
    Thanks!

Did you use Apple's migration tool?  It misses a lot of support files, especially in the Application Support directories.
You'll have to copy those files manually, or reinstall the app.

  • Problem with photoshop on my mac

    Hey...
I have some problem with photoshop on my mac...
When i open the photoshop my screen change his color...
The screen changes such delicate blue color.
and when i close the app the color has back to the original color.
    photoshop cs 6 (master collection)
    macbook pro 15"
    OS X Mountain Lion
    2.3 i7
    4 giga ram
    Have a nice day

Not sure which screen you mean, but maybe your seeing the Application Frame in photoshop cs6.
You can turn that off in photoshop cs6 under Window>Application Frame.
If that's not it, could you post a screenshot?

  • Firefox does not load long images, pixelates images if they are not in their original size, and has problems with thumbnails (in some sites)

    Firefox has problems with images.
In sites like deviantART or ImageShack with full-view option, images that are not in full size/thumbnails get slightly pixelated e.g. http://img251.imageshack.us/f/screenshot2tq.jpg/
Long images get completely messed up if full-viewed e.g. http://img689.imageshack.us/f/screenshot5z.jpg/ (though if the file is only big, it loads just fine)
Also, thumbnails in some sites get messed up e.g. http://img201.imageshack.us/f/screenshotyr.jpg/
And in general, Firefox has more 'glitches' like not allowing to add more search engines. It wasn't like that before and I can only assume that it got messed up somewhere with updates, but I'm not really sure.
I've tried cleaning out cache, re-installing Firefox (multiple times) and even downloaded Firefox 4 beta, but the problem remains.
    I use Ubuntu.
Does anyone else have similar problems? Or know where the problem lies?

Do you have the latest driver for your graphics display card?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • Performance problems with Photoshop CC 2014 in combination with the imac retina 5k

    Hello,
I've been using the new imac retina, and i have enormous problems with the performance of Photoshop. If i for example use the selective color correction, this does not run smoothly. Other functions also work delayed. I noticed if i do not use Photoshop in full screen mode,  everything goes back to normal. A friend used the predecessor model imac without 5k resolution, but has no problems. I suspect Photoshop has problems with the resolution of 5k.
Anyone here who has the same problem?
    Specs:
    4GHz Intel Core i7
    24 GB RAM
    AMD Radeon R9 2048MB
    Photoshop CC 2014.2.2
    Thanks for help
    greetings Manuel

I hope Adobe fixed this problems with the next updates! With this terrible performance i cannot work. I actually just bought the new iMac Retina, because my old model was too slow... and now the Photoshop Performance is slower than on my old iMac. I have read that other users who have also a 5k iMac, report on same problems.  So i hope that a update or a solution for this problems come very quickly!

  • Big problem with photoshop cc

I have a problem with photoshop that had happened to me last year and I managed to sort by formatting my computer and came back this year. I was drawing on the software, when it suddenly closed. I then reopened the software, and there, my brush appear as pictured . The first 6 are the same ... They draw the same way as I draw mostly with " net pressure rounded size ."
I have reinstalled the software restored the computer to an earlier date, reset photoshop ... I really do not know what to do and I can not format the computer again ... If you have a solution , it would be really good! Thank you in advance,
    Good evening .

Yes I know , except that these 6 brushes draw the same way , they are identical when I used , look at the attached image in the main message.
Select either the third or forth brush, and check its settings in Shape Dynamics.  It should have Size jitter set to Pen pressure.
Now select the Sixth brush.  In Transfer, Flow jitter should be set to Pen pressure
If those settings are correct, then it is your tablet that is at fault.  Open the Wacom properties, and test Pen pressure (as below).  If that works, then the tablet is not working with Photoshop, so check the driver is up to date.  If it does not work, then there is an issue with the pen and or tablet.  Restart your computer, try another USB port, check connections etc.

  • Problems with Photoshop cs4 for the Mac

I am having all kinds of problems with Photoshop CS4 for the Mac.  When I boot the software it seems to work for a while then, I am unable to open upf a file in Photoshop.  I drag a photoshop file over the application icon, the whole screen flickers and nothing happens.  I am unable to quit Photoshop as the quit choice is grayed out and command-q will not make it quit. I have to force quit.  I can repeat this pattern over and over.  What is happening?  How do I solve this problem?
    --Kenoli

Thanks for the reply.  I am using  Photoshop 11.0.1.  I am using the latest version of Snow Leopard.  I have found both Photoshop and Dreamweaver to be pretty buggy for several versions now.  My suspicions were that they were really engineered for Windows and never really fully implemented for the Mac.  Dreamweaver crashes or hangs on me three or four times a day if I us it all day and does various annoying things like refusing to respond to the delete key after I have used it for a while.  I have pretty much stopped using it to some degree for that reason and also because there is other software that does a lot of coding things I do much more directly and simply.  Also Dreamweaver always seems to struggle to quit when I tell it to quit (that is, it takes a long time and gets hung up at places before it quits) and once it does quit, I always get a message saying that it has unexpectedly quit (even when I have told it to quit).
The problems with Photoshop  (starting with just taking a long time to load)  have escalated to the point I described today, which makes it almost unusable. I just reinstalled Snow Leopard to see if there was anything buggy in the system software.  I will report if problems go away.
Regarding both the refusal to open image files and the grayed out quit command, made me think something like you, i.e. there was some dialogue box open somewhere.  However, I couldn't find anything and I don't use two monitors.
So . . . Adobe just seems to be getting more expensive and more buggy.
Incidentally, why is it still running in Rosetta rather than natively?  Adobe now has a real Intel processor to work with.
