I have a problem using the MessageCount Listener in mail API... Problem is simple........... The Listener doesn't work at all...
Has anyone tried it out .. Please reply if u have so that i can present the real picture.... Please dont avoid me by giving links to tutorials... Believe me... i've tried a few of them but nothing seems to help me...

I'm using a pop3 account.. Here i tried using the getmessagecount command... But it doesn't work.. Its showing the same count every time in spite of new messages arriving. The listener doesn't fire at all..
To get the folder show updated count, i have to close and reopen the folder. This itself makes the concept of message listeners quite vague... Do u have any further tips on this..

How can I enforce the communication on TLS 1.2 with Java Mail API?
I try to set TLSv1.2 is SSLContext but the communication always takes place on TLSv1.
Please suggest.Are you setting a new default SSLContext?
By default, JavaMail will use the default SSLSocketFactory, which (I believe) by default will use the default SSLContext.
You can also set the property mail.<protocol>.ssl.protocols to the protocol you want to be used,
which will be passed to the SSLSocket.setEnabledProtocols method. -
Domino Address book from Java Mail API

How do we access the address book of a mail server (typically a Domino mail server in my case) using Java Mail API.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

RajTHavent done this myself but I dont think the JavaMail api will do this as its focussed on providing mail functionality rather than directory access.
I believe you can access the Domino address book using LDAP. Not sure of the details, or if you need to config the domino server a particular way. The Java api that will help you do this is JNDI, though if your application is domino specific you may actually find it easier to avoid the LDAP approach and see what functioanlity the Notes java api provides in this area.

STEP 1.
First compile and execute the PROGRAM 1 with your USERNAME & PASSWORD. This will send a mail to your own account.
STEP 2.
Now compile both PART 1 & PART 2 of PROGRAM 2. Then, execute PART 1 - Main.java. This will retrive the mail sent in step 1. njoy! :)
In future, I hope this is added to the demo programs of the Java Mail API download package.

I did checked by enabling session debuging and also checked pop settings it's enabled for all
mails, I tried deleting some very old messages and now the message count is changed to 310.
This may be the problem with gmail.

Error while sending mail when using Java Mail API
Hi Experts,
I am trying to execute a webdynpro application which uses the Java Mail API to send emails. The exception that I get on executing the application is :
Sending failed; nested exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]
Can anybody please help me sort out the issue.

Usually one get this error if the SMTP server is configured not to relay mails (a security measure) or the SMTP server need the mail to be sent from a trusted IP or with proper authentication. Some SMTP servers are configured to block junk mails.
Pls check with your mail server administrator.

help all..You can create a messenger-style application using JavaTV fairly easily. JavaTV supports standard java.net, and so any IP-based connection is pretty easy to do. The hard part of the application will be text input, but people have been using cellphone keypads to send SMS messages for long enough that they're familiar with doing this. This doesn't work well for long messages, where you really need a decent keyboard, but for short SMS-type messages it's acceptable.
The biggest problem that you need to work around is the return channel. Many receivers only have a dial-up connection, ties up the phone line and potentially costs people money if they don't get free local calls. Always-on return channels (e.g. ADSL or cable modem) are still pretty uncommon, so it's something that you nee to think about. Of course, if you do have an always-on connection then this problem just goes away.
This is really one of those cases that's technically do-able, but the infrastructure may not be there to give users a good experience.

i m using java mail api to access gmails pop and smtp service to receive and send mail from ur gmail account. I m able to access gmails pop server using the ssl and port 995 , but i can not use its smtp server to which i m connecting using ssl on 465 port. It requires authentication code.

I don't see that header in the list of headers you provided.
Can you save the entire message to a text file using
msg.writeTo(new FileOutputStream("msg.txt"));
Then look for the Content-Disposition header in msg.txt. Most likely you'll
find that it is incorrectly formatted - as the exception says, there's a comma
in a place that a semicolon is expected.
