AnyConnect 3.1 crashes on XP SP3

We just upgraded our AnyConnect clients to the lastest 3.1 and some XP users were having issues.  One PC was able to upgrade to SP3 and it resolved the issue.  However, we still have several PC's on XP SP3 and are able to install the client manually, but when you go to connect, it sits at Posture Assessment: Initiating... and eventually gives you "Cisco Scaner has encountered a problem and needs to close".  It may also give you the same error with other applications that were already running on the PC. What should our first steps be?  If we try to connect in any browser, it gives the same error with cscan.exe.

Update: I was able to recreate the issue on an XP VM and it fails with "Prelogon policy failed!"
Access Denied
Your system failed to be validated by  the Cisco Secure Desktop and will not be granted access.
I was able to get in once on the website and the client alone, and it worked.  I closed my browsers, opened both of them, and now they're both getting the same Critical failure along with a Cisco Scanner encountered a problem message in Internet Explorer.  I checked my prelogon policy and it's just an OS check with XP/2k/Vista/7 being allowed so I'm not sure why every XP machine is failing the check.

    I've uninstalled the program
    reinstalled the program
    deleted the preferences
    repaired the program
    changed profiles
    loaded it without extra applications
... nothing seems to keep this from crashing windows...
My workstation is a Dell Optiplex 755 running Windows XP sp3 with 3.25gb RAM.

  • OLEDB Connection to SQLite 3.74 Crashes CR2008 w/ SP3

I'm trying to create a new report that connects to a SQLite 3.74 database using the OLE DB Provider from Cherry City Software (https://cherrycitysoftware.com/CCS/Providers/ProvSQLite.aspx) but everytime I try to connect to the database Crystal Reports Crashes. Doesn't appear to matter what database I choose, it just always crashes the whole program.
Is there a way I can connect via OLEDB to a SQLite database in Crystal 2008 SP3? I also tried using ODBC drivers but whenever I select the database it doesn't show me any tables but rather just "Add Command."
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,
What they are saying is they don't follow the ANSII 92 standards for ODBC which likely means they don't follow the rules for OLE DB either.
We follow the rules so any driver should work. Otherwise we have to "hack" our drivers for each one and that becomes a nightmare to maintain. Every time they change their code we have to also.
I had a look at their site and it appears they do work with ADOPlus so when you create your report select the ADO.NET. Point it to the DAT file they use...
    SQLite Provider Connection String
        Provider=OleSQLite.SQLiteSource; Data Source=DatabaseFileFullPath;
        Where
DatabaseFileFullPath is the database file full path. For example, C:\public\customer.dat
In the OLE DB connection wizard in CR designer you can also add Custom options for those providers needing them. That may help also.
Another option is to use a Command Object and simply paste int he SQL needed. CR passes the SQL in the command object directly to the client and we do not alter it in any way.
If that doesn't work then go to MS's site and download a tool called OLEDBTest and then try connecting and running a Query using Microsoft's OLE DB test tool. If that doesn't work then all I can suggest is you use some other DB. It looks like it's a PC database so use Access as a replacement.
    Thank you
    Don

  • FF 21 constantly crashes Win XP SP3

For over a year now (since version 13 - I think) I have had to stop using FF because it crashes upon start-up. Ever once in a while, I uninstall it and install the latest version (currently have 21) and what happens is when I start it up for the first time, I am able to use it. But once I close the program and start it up again, it just crashes upon start-up every time. So, I cannot use FireFox on my system at all.
Even though in the past hour I have tried opening FF 21 over 20 times, there are no crash report logs to be found in my application data folder for FF.
Please help me troubleshoot and fix this issue.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]
    * [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility]
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] article.

The complete offline installers do not crash and appear to install successfully:
    install_flash_player_17_plugin.exe
    install_flash_player_17_active_x.exe
After installation, Flashplayer appears to run normally without issue.
Speculation: Both computers are older and do not have SSE2 processors. Did flashplayer17_ha_install.exe and flashplayer17ax_ha_install.exe get compiled with SSE2 switch enabled?

Minidump analysis, looks like an illegal instruction. Again suspect SSE2 requirement was enabled for this version of Adobe Download Manager. It does not appear SSE2 is required for FlashPlayer (yet), so this should be fixed.

    Hi,
Are you using XP SP3 ?
Excel crashing with XP SP3 is a known problem, you need to upgrade your client to 9.3.1.2.06 or above, you can download the patches from metalink3.
Spreadsheet Add-in: Running Hyperion® Essbase® — System 9 Spreadsheet Add-in for Excel on Windows XP SP3 causes Excel to terminate abnormally

  • Reinstalling iTunes after a WinXP crash.

After a major system crash (XP Home SP3) I had to reinstall Windows. How can I reimport old iTunes content into a new iTunes installation (all files on a hard disc, but obviously inaktive...) THX for any help !!

If Windows was re-installed, it is unlikely the data still exists on the drive.
IF it does, simple hold <SHIFT> while launching iTunes.  When prompted to choose or create a new library, point it to the existing iTunesLibrary.itl file.
IF it does not exist, restore the data from the backup of the computer.  You do have a backup, correct?

  • Cisco AnyConnect v. 3.1.01065 BSOD Windows 8

So after I switched to Windows 8 every time I turn on my AnyConnect it sometimes crashed after 5 minuttes or max 1 day of running with VPN. When I turn it off my computer runs without any problems. Im wondering if this is only me who is experiencing this problem or anyone else know something about it. Would really like a possible fix for this because I use it daily.
    I run Windows 8 - 64-bit Enterprise edition.
If you need more information I will post them, just dont know what to post more than my operating system. It worked perfectly in Windows 7, but I think it was with an older build.

    Hi Klaus,
Please let me know if you are using certificate based authentication or not. The newer versions of anyconnect require certain fields in the certificate. For eg the EKU field. For more reference please check the following:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect31/release/notes/anyconnect31rn.html#wp1043433
Also let me know if a trusted third party cert is binded to your outside interface or not.
You also mentioned that you were not facing this issue with older anyconnect client. Can you tell me the version of anyconnect client that was working fine?

  • Problem when installing boXIwin_sp3

    Hi,
I am trying to install the patch boXIwin_sp3
In installation start good, stop the services.
During the backup of the orginal files, the installation stop without any error.
    Can somebody help me?

In this case, are you sure that you downloaded the correct Service Pack 3 from ESD? I know that there was a crashed version of SP3 uploaded and BO has revised and came up with the correct package.
Please check with BO support that you have the latest version or download it again from ESD site.

These forums are for Novell's Open Enterprise Server (OES) product which
is an add-on for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
If you are using "regular" SLES then you should repost in one of SUSE's

  • Windows 8.1 64-Bit AnyConnect Crash

Running Windows 8.1 (64-bit) with AnyConnect version 3.1.05170
I can connect without issue, but after an indeterminate amount of time and seemingly unrelated to whatever task I'm working on, the system crashes.  BSOD with the little sad face.
I've seen at least one other post regarding this issue but, for some reason, when I tried to reply there, the UI didn't let me enter any text.  Just prompted for a file upload.
Is there a fix for this issue available?
    Thanks.

I have the same configuration and problem even with 3.1.06073 (latest).  My VPNwill connect and start and then hang.  If I look at the statistics I'll see Bytes being sent but the Received count will stop at 19880 bytes.  I have been able to work around this sometimes by re-installing but that doesn't always work.  Usually I just have to keep trying, uninstalling, re-installing and eventually it'll start working.  This is very frustrating.
