AnyConnect Client v3.1 driver error on windows 7
Hello,
I used AnyConnect Client v3.0 on my windows 7 machine and worked well. But after automatic upgrade to v3.1 by the VPN server(ASA) and it does not work any more. It seems that VPN authentication is successful but activation of VPN adapter fails.
I see two error messages below:
The VPN client driver has encountered an error. Please restart your computer or device, then try again.
AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again.

I already did most of suggestions below from google but still the issue has not been resolved.
- Rebooted the laptop
- Confirm ICS disabled
- Remove Anyconnect client from the laptop and reinstall
- http://www.lehigh.edu/~inlts/comp/docs/vpn/cisco-drvr.html
Cheers
Jeong
I am also facing the exact same issue. I even tried with the newer version. But it does not work. During connection, it asks for accepting the banner and the suddenly the cisco adapter driver gets uninstalled from device manager and cisco pops-up the error screen.
" the VPN client driver encountered an error. Please restart your computer or device and try again"
Please help.

AnyConnect client 3.1 installation error
Some of my VPN users are getting the following error on Windows 7 64 bit computer. I have uploaded the client to a website. The VPN users are supposed to download and install the client from the web-site. Then they enter the URL to connect to our VPN. This worked fine during the test and only some users are having issues. This seems like Windows issue. Any ideas? Did anyone experience this?

ISSUE
Virus damaged the Windows Firewall and Firewall service wasn’t running. When AnyConnect tried to register itself with the Firewall, it failed as the Firewall was damaged.

We decided to reimage the computer rather than fixing the issue. Reason- the Virus might have caused other damages that we were not able to detect. -
How does AnyConnect client calculate its Link Speed? (Windows 7)
I'm curious about how the AnyConnect client determines what its default Link Speed is, upon initialization?
For example, from behind my home firewall, if I have a client that's physically connected to a 1Gbps uplink, when I launch the AnyConnect client, Windows Task Manager shows me a Link Speed of 9 Mbps for my AnyConnect connection.
However, if I also launch an AnyConnect connection from another machine on my home LAN, connected via 300Mbps WiFi, Windows Task Manager will only show me around a 1 Mbps Link Speed.
How does the AnyConnect client calculate its Link Speed upon connection? Does it take a percentage of the available upstream bandwidth?
My home ISP bandwidth is 50Mbps down/12 Mbps up. My corporate ISP (where the ASA I'm connecting to resides) it 50Mbps bi-directional.For PHP, if you want to handle data in UTF8, NLS_LANG must be set to
"<language>_<territory>.UTF8", where <language> and <territory> are your
preference. There is few difference between ODBC and OCI called by PHP
in this case as both need to set NLS_LANG to UTF8. If you are familiar
with OCI and expect better performance, you can do so. But if you want
to make the application be portable in terms of data source, ODBC is an
appropriate choice.
Data source doesn't matter the encoding of client. The character set of
client is determined by how client calls ODBC functions SQLBindParameter
or SQLBindCol. If the client specifies SQL_C_WCHAR, data is exchanged in
UTF-16 independent from NLS_LANG. If it is SQL_C_CHAR, data is in
NLS_LANG encoding. Unicode ODBC client binds data with SQL_C_WCHAR, that
is exactly the case of MS Access 2000. On the other hand, because PHP
binds data with SQL_C_CHAR, NLS_LANG is taken as the encoding for data

AnyConnect client no assigned address error
I am trying to set up the AnyConnect client (v2.4.0196) and when it tries to connect it fails with a no assigned address error. I look in the logs of the ASA and see a No IPv6 address available for SVC connection. IPv6 is disabled on the ASA.
Does anyone know how to prevent the AnyConnect client from trying to get an IPv6 address?
Thanks in advance...Note that 2.4 is still beta, 2.3.2016 is the latest supported release today.
Having said that, I rather suspect an ASA issue than a client issue. Can you confirm whether or not an ipv4 address is assigned?
I.e. is there something in the logs like:
Oct 13 2009 09:05:55: %ASA-6-737026: IPAA: Client assigned 192.168.0.1 from local pool
Oct 13 2009 09:05:55: %ASA-6-737006: IPAA: Local pool request succeeded for tunnel-group 'DefaultWEBVPNGroup'

Http Client hit without fiddler error in WIndows 8 Apps
Hi All
In production of my windows 8.1 App.
Whenever I hit the service it fails and returns me an error.
Whereas if I start the fiddler and exempt all win8 config, then it hit the service.
Is there anything required for win8 apps to be done on a fresh system.
Need HelpHi Vishy,
Looks like the issue is caused by Internet configuration of the proxy, I would suggest you ask at TechNet forum to see if we have a better configuration solution instead of the coding solution.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi everyone,
it's probably just me but I have tried real hard to get a simple AnyConnect setup working in a lab environment on my ASA 5505 at home, without luck. When I connect with the AnyConnect client I get the error message "User not authorized for AnyConnect Client access, contact your administrator". I have searched for this error and tried some of the few solutions out there, but to no avail. I also updated the ASA from 8.4.4(1) to 9.1(1) and ASDM from 6.4(9) to 7.1(1) but still the same problem. The setup of the ASA is straight forward, directly connected to the Internet with a 10.0.1.0 / 24 subnet on the inside and an address pool of 10.0.2.0 / 24 to assign to the VPN clients. Please note that due to ISP restrictions, I'm using port 44455 instead of 443. I had AnyConnect working with the SSL portal, but IKEv2 IPsec is giving me a headache. I have stripped down certificate authentication which I had running before just to eliminate this as a potential cause of the issue. When running debugging, I do not get any error messages - the handshake completes successfully and the local authentication works fine as well.
Please find the current config and debugging output below. I appreciate any pointers as to what might be wrong here.

Windows 8.1 Preview not working with AnyConnect Client
I had Windows 8 and was running Cisco AnyConnect client 3.0.10055 perfectly.
I upgraded to the Windows 8.1 preview and it tries to download update and then it fails and disconnects with the following message:
An unknown termination error occurred in the client.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client, no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
EricI had the same issue with windows 8.1 x64. I believe there is an issue with the windows 8.1 update process where it fails to update some of the drivers properly. I have noticed this issue with other windows drivers after the update. Follow the steps below and you VPN should work again.
1. Uninstall Cisco Anyconnect client.
2. Go to Device Manager and Disable Cisco AnyConnect VPN Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows x64
3. Go to C:\Windows\System32 and rename vpnva64.sys to vpnva64_Old.sys.
4. Reinstall Cisco Anyconnect client.
5. Go to Device Manager, you see duplicated Cisco AnyConnect VPN Virtual Adapters. Uninstall one of them but do not check the option to remove the driver.
6. Apply the registry fix in this blog: http://www.tomontech.com/2012/03/pro-tip-cisco-anyconnect-vpn-client-and-windows-8-consumer-preview/
7. Try to connect again and your Cisco VPN should work. -
Random disconnects from Windows 7 Clients - Disk is full error
Recently upgrade my XServe from 10.5.8 -> 10.6.6 -> 10.7.3 Server.
I have 6 Mac clients connecting to different sharepoints on the server with no issues at all after the upgrade.
I have 2 Windows 7 Home clients running QuickBooks attempting to connecting to their Accounting sharepoint on the server. 10.5.8 / 10.6.6 there were no issues with disconnects. After upgrading to 10.7.3 Server and fixing the login issue, the Windows 7 clients can connect to the sharepoint. But once or twice a day they are getting an error of "The disc or drive Z: is full." (I have the sharepoint mapped to drive Z on Windows 7).
The sharepoint is on a RAID and has over 1TB free storage. The local hard drive in each Windows 7 client has 200-300 GB's free each.. so no drives are actually full.
Is anybody else seeing this?
Their connections are wired.. Gig Ethernet. This was not an issue previous to Lion Server. Only started occuring after the "upgrade" this past Saturday. Most likely your disk is full . If you go to Preferences/Performance you are able to change your active Scratch Disks.

Hello, We have multiple Server 2003 Print server and are working on testing a Server 2012 print server. We have run into an issue where a PRINTER (type 4, normal) works with our Windows 7 32 bit clients, Windows 8.1 64 bit clients and the
2012 R2 server, but when trying to install to a windows 7 64 bit clients using \\SERVER\PRINTER we are getting the above message. (The printer is not offered currently in the directory).
I have been scouring the Google and Bing and have yet to find a satisfactory description that matches this issue. Nor have I found other information that resolve this issue. Like, blaming this on the spooler or DLL fixes or Reg hacks (applied
on the client side).
Specifically, we have used the native 2012 R2 drivers "Ricoh Class Driver", "HP LaserJet 4240 PCL6 Class Driver" and "Xerox Phaser 6120 Class Driver"
If I use a Type 3 driver from Xerox I am able to print from the Windows 7 64 bit client to the print device, but I was hoping to get all of my clients onto 1 driver. I understand that I might be able to use some sort of WMI filtering in our GPO

AnyConnect Client (3.1.02040) - Windows 8 won't shut down
I've noticed and issue with Windows 8 and AnyConnect Client version 3.1.02040. I've tried various things to try to resolve this issue but have hit a brick wall. Whenever, I run AnyConnect on my Windows 8 PC and then shut it down for the day, the PC won't turn off. I've ensured my AnyConnect client is disconnected and then quit the application and even killed the VPN service.
Has anyone else seen this issue??? Any resolution???I also have the same problem. There is a few things that I have noticed...
1. If you disable the Network List Service and the Network Location awareness Services and reboot, this problem does not occure. However, when you disable these services, you are no longer able to manager you network connections.
2. There are many errors that appear in the cisco anyconnect secure mobility client event log

• remoteIP:port—The remote IP address and port number

• error—The error string that indicates the specific error
Any ideas of what could be causing this? We are using certifcate and LDAP for AAA.
Thanks in Advance.
BillHi Harry,
I have resolved the issue. I didn't realize that I had to have the Mac Anyconnect pkg file copied to the flash of the ASA. Once I did that the authentication issue went away.

ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified in windows server 2008 r2.I made a application in asp.net c#.I am using ODBC connection. When I deployed my application in windows server2008 r2.There
is no Microsoft ODBC driver shown in ODBC Data source administrator. Then I go to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and open Odbcad32.exe and add Microsoft ODBC2 driver for Oracle and when I run my application I got following error
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
I am using follwoing string
<connectionStrings>
<add name="theconnetion" connectionString="DSN=abdb;UID=abc;PWD=xyz"/>
</connectionStrings>
Guide me What I do?Did you add a System DSN or a User DSN? If you added a User DSN from your own login, the asp.net application will not be able to use it unless its application Pool in IIS is configured to run under the same credentials that you used for creating
the DSN. It's better if you add a System DSN.
Also, be careful to ensure that you are using a 64 bit DSN, unless you configure the application to run in 32 bits. If the 64 bit application attempts to use the 32 bit driver you get the same error message "Data source name not found and no default
driver specified". See this KB article:

BH-111 with windows 8.1 Driver Error
I have recently purcharsed the BH-111 and an inateck (BTA-CSR4B5) bluetooth dongle and have successfully gotten the headset to play sound, but it won't fully pair and use the microphone or media controls.
When in the device manager it says Driver Error
The dongle supplyer states that the device is bluetooth 4.0, but backwards compatible with 2.1 (which is what this headset has) so there should be no issue with full use of the BH-111 and my laptop.
Please can you advise what I need to doHi @HP-User-123 ,
I see that you don't have the options for the paper types to select in the print driver. I would be happy to help you.
Depending on if you installed the printer by plugging in the USB cable and using the Windows preinstalled driver, or used the downloaded HP Color LaserJet Plug and Play Package. I would suggest to uninstall and download and install the Plug and Play Package if you haven't already.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. http://www.hp.com/go/tools>Using HP Diagnostic Tools for HP Printers in Windows.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.
