AnyConnect: No Address Available for SVC Connection on Cisco ASA 5505

Get Error
The secure gateway has rejected the connection attempt.   A new connection attempt to the same or another secure gateway is needed, which requires re-authentication.   The follow message was received from the secure gateway:    No address available for SVC connection.

I have a VPN pool
I can make a clientless SSL connection

Hi,
Maybe you are not falling into that tunnel-group SSL? By default, you will fall into the DefaultWebvpnGroup unless you choose the TG via a dropdown or directly access the group via a groupurl.
Example: When no 'tunnel-group-list' or 'group-url' is configured:
Accessing https:// will take you to DefaultWebvpnGroup.
When 'tunnel-group-list enable' is configured under webvpn, you will get a dropdown of tunnel-groups to choose from [provided you have an alias defined for the group]
When group-url is configured for a particular TG, say https:///test , on accessing that URL, you are taken to that group directly.
So basically, you would need to check which group you are hitting. Running 'debug webvpn 255' should also show you this.
Thanks
Rahul

  • No address available for SVC connection!

I am trying to create a SSLVPN connection using Cisco Anyconnect Client after entering username and password, I am getting following error message in attached screenshot. I already created a ip local pool vpnpool 192.168.60.10-192.168.60.15 mask 255.255.255.0 and associated with correct tunnel-group sslgroup. Everytime i attempt to connect i get error message no address available for SVC Connection.
Any help or suggestions related to this issue will be helpful.
    Thanks,

    Hi MKD,
I only have one telnet session open and ASDM session to this ASA on top of that I am using CiscoAnyConnect to intiate SSL Connection. I also try to close ASDM session and reattempted again but getting same error message.

  • AnyConnect issue with Cisco ASA 5505

I continue to bang my head against the wall on this one. Everytime I try to connect to the AnyConnect SSL VPN I get the following error
"No address available for SVC connection"
I have verified up and down that my VPN pool is there and assigned. I have deleted/re-added this so many times. I am using the ADSM to set this up via the wizard. Any help please?
    Here is my config

It seems like you are falling into the default group policy.  You need to either enable tunnel-group-list under the webvpn which allows users to select the group they are connecting to, or configure user attributes to force that user into the correct connection profile..
    enabling tunnel-group-list
    webvpn
    tunnel-group-list enable
    configuring user attributes:
    username Chris password mXB.dKavHoEa0gaC encrypted
    username Chris attributes
    vpn-group-policy HBNS_AnyConnect
    group-lock value HBNS_AnyConnect
    service-type remote-access

  • Programs that require a network connection won't work because there is no virtual IP address available for this session.

Programs that require a network connection won't work because there is no virtual IP address available for this session.  Per application IP virtualization is enabled.
There are in fact available IP address's within the dhcp scope.  Before I dig to deep into root cause.. Could the problem be RDS CAL licensing running out, or isn't that not a symptom of my error message?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
As per my research, there is no any issue related to RDS CAL licensing. Prior to the issue which you are facing, there are some basic setting which need to configure.
Application Compatibility – Turn on Remote Desktop IP virtualization
Some applications require a unique IP address, which is by default logically not the case if the application is running on RD Session Host. To solve this issue, Remote Desktop IP Virtualization is introduced. With this setting you enable the IP virtualization
feature. When enabling this setting you need to specify if the virtual IP is provided per session or per program. When using per program you need to define the executable to which an IP address should be configured. Desktop IP virtualization also needs the
    configuration of the next setting.
Application Compatibility – Select the network adapter to be used for Remote Desktop IP Virtualization
When you need to use Remote Desktop IP virtualization configuring this setting is mandatory. You need to specify the IP address of the Network Interface Card which should be used for this feature. Besides the IP address you need also to specify the network
mask using the slash notation, for example 192.168.77.201/24.
Application Compatibility – Do not use Remote Desktop Session Host server IP address when virtual IP address is not available

I want to have all the facilities of my Ipad obtained for my e mail address, available for another e mail address belonging to my wife. Anyone know how I set this up please? I am a new user and long in the tooth so any help would be much appreciated.

What do you mean by "facilities of my Ipad obtained for my e mail address"?
Do you mean you want to setup your wife's email account on your iPad? Or something else?

  • Cisco ASA 5505 doesn't forware incoming connection to LAN

    Hello everybody.
I just got a Cisco asa 5505 with the next OS and ASDM info
    ASA 5505 OS 8.4(3) ASDM 6.47
I configured and enter all rules to allow incoming traffic to LAN but it's not working also, I have one host inside that is configured in a second IP and create the rule to allow traffic to it but it doesn't work too.
    Problem 1
I have VNC running in port 5900 tcp and I want to connect from Internet using port 6001 and this has to forware the connection to the real VNC port. In the configuration I have a few host with the same configuration but I use different outside port to get it.
    Problem 2.
I have a second IP with services: SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS and port 444 all TCP forwarding to a server in the LAN.
    Facts:
    SMTP.
Every time that I do telnet to the second IP looking for the SMTP port, the firewall doesn't let the incoming connection goes through and the LOGGING screen doesn't how that connection.
    PORT 6001 (outside)
this port is configured to work with the IP in the outside internface and it was to send the incoming connection to a host inside to the real port 5900.
Can any one check my configuration if I'm missing anything? for sure I'm but I didn't find it. Bellow is the configuration, I masked the Public IPs just left the last number in the IP, also I left the LAN network to see better the configuration.
    I will appreciate any help.
    Thanks a lot..

Jose, your fix to problem 1 allows all access from the outside, assuming you applied the extended list to the outside interface.  Try to be more restrictive than an '...ip any any' rule for outside_in connections.  For instance, this is what I have for incoming VOIP (access list and nat rules):
    access list rule:
access-list outside_access_in extended permit udp any object server range 9000 9049 log errors
    nat rule:
nat (inside, outside) source static server interface service voip-range voip-range
    - 'server' is a network object *
    - 'voip-range' is a service group range
I'd assume you can do something similar here in combination with my earlier comment:
access-list incoming extended permit tcp any any eq 5900
Can you explain your forwarding methodology a little more?  I'm by no means an expert on forwarding, but the way I read what you're trying to do is that you have an inbound VNC request coming in on 5900 and you want the firewall to figure out which host the request should go to.  Or is it vice-versa, the inbound VNC request can be on port 6001-6004 ?

  • Unable to ping device behind Cisco 3750 on the same inside VLAN via Cisco ASA 5505 Anyconnect VPN

    Hi Guys,
I've been stuck with this for the last 2 days, and I thought to try and use Cisco's forum, I setup my home DC, and started having problems once I moved a Cisco 5505 behind a Cisco 1841 router (I wanted to eventually test DMVPN live on the internet,) I was no longer able to ping some devices, then as soon as I introduce a collapsed core/distribution switch, I'm also no longer able to ping the devices behind the Cisco 3750, I've attached a network diagram and the ASA running-config.
Everything seem fine internally with the exception of an intermittent network connectivity with a Citrix NetScaler VPX running on a VMware ESXi.
For some odd reason, I am able to ping the following, with no issues.
    Cisco 3750 SVI (192.168.1.3)
CentOS web server (connected directly to the Cisco ASA 5505)
I have checked and enable the following:
    Nat Exemption
    Sysopt connection permit-vpn
    ACL's
    same-security-traffic permit inter-interface
    same-security-traffic permit intra-interface
Added ICMP in the inspection policy
Packet-capture - Only getting echo requests.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I believe you have the problem with your no-nat configurations..... you to exempt NAT for the traffic from 172.16.10.0 (Anyconnect VPN pool) to 192.168.1.0/24 (Inside LAN) to make this work
    object network acvpnpool
    subnet <anyconnect VPN Subnet>
    object network insidelan
    subnet <inside lan subnet>
nat (inside, outside) source static acvpnpool acvpnpool destination static insidelan insidelan
Make sure that you are able to reach the GW/Inside ip adress of the firewall from LAN machine.... all routing in place properly..... Thanks!!!
    Regards

  • Cisco ASA 5505 - Keeps dropping internet connection

    Hi,
We are having some issues with our Cisco ASA 5505 unit, it intermittently drops the outside interface connection. Internally the network appears to be working correctly with no issues. Even though the outside interface indicates it is 'up' access to the internet is lost from our LAN. This seems to be ocourring more and more often! This is happening for all users on the network too. Reloading the ASA seems to correct the problem temporally but this isn't really an option during peak periods in the day as this would obviously hinder work being carried out by employees.
    Any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks,
    John

    Hello,
What happens when you assign eth0 as internal interface and eth1 as outside if?
Also configure logging (/debugging) to see if there are hardware issues or something else.
And it seems you have a range of public addresses. What happens when you connect a device, e.g. a laptop directly on the internet access device and send continue ping to an internet host.
When you loose internet connectivity, is the laptop still pinging to that host?
    Hopefully this helps you,
    Kind regards,
    Ralph Willemsen

  • Cisco ASA 5505 - 2 PPPoE connection

    Hi,
Please I would be very pleased if someone could give me a hand in this matter.
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 9.0(2), 2 dial-up connection (ADSL) with fix IP from the same ISP. I have 2 Linksys router (each dial-up has a router) as well. Both Linksys are connected directly to ASA configured in bridge mode.
I set up one dial-up on interface called “outside” with PPPoE configuration which is, in fact, up and running. I’m able to get my fix public IP.
My problem come from when I try to set up the second dial-up on interface called “outside-other”. I configure properly all PPPoE parameters however I’m not able to get my second fix public IP. Somehow, it’s not able to establish a connection with the ISP. (PPPoE session has not been established yet)
This could be useful information: the PPPoE Username is the same in both dial-up connection (given by my ISP).
I hope someone can shed light on this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
Apologies for my lack of awareness.
    Antonio

    Hi,
    This is my schema:
connection A ( interface outside) --> DSL --> Router Linksys mode bridge --> Cisco ASA , up and running with IP fix.
    connection B ( interface outside-other) --> DSL --> Router Linksys mode bridge --> Cisco ASA, down : Status PADR_SENT
I tried to use two different VPDN_groups for the two connections A and B. However, B is still not working. Just one of them is able to get IP from ISP, connection A.
When I set up the Linksys router (connection B) in PPPoE, the connection works and get an IP fix from ISP.
What I want to do is set up a VPN on connection B so I need to configure this second dial-up on Cisco ASA. I cannot use connection A due to security reasons.
    Thanks

  • Port Forwarding for Cisco ASA 5505 VPN

    This is the Network
    Linksys E2500 ---> Cisco ASA 5505 ---> Server
I beleive I need to forward some ports to the asa to use the IPsec VPN I just setup. I had the SSL VPN working but only needed to forward 443 for that....I assume that IPsec tunnel is a specific port.
    Thank You

For IPSec VPN, you need to port forward UDP/500 and UDP/4500, and remember to enable NAT-T on the ASA.
Command to enable NAT-T on ASA:
    crypto isakmp nat-traversal 30

  • Cisco ASA 5505 AnyConnect SSL VPN problem

    Hi!
    I have a small network, wiht ASA 5505, 8.4:
    Inside network: 192.168.2.0/24
    Outside: Static IP
I would like to deploy a SSL AnyConnect setup.
    The state:
-I give the correct IP from my predefined VPN pool (10.10.10.0/24).
But, could not reach any resource, could not ping too. My host has given 10.10.10.1 IP, and I had a GW: 10.10.10.2. Where is this GW from?
    Could you help me?

First of all thanks your link.
I know your notes, but i don't understand 1 thing:
if i check nat exemption in the anyconnect wizad, why should i make nat exemption rule?
A tried creating a roule, but it is wrong.
    My steps (on ASDM):
1: create network object (10.10.10.0/24), named VPN
2: create nat rule: source any, destination VPN, protocol any

  • Cisco ASA 5505 VPN connection issue ("Unable to add route")

I'm trying to get IPSec VPN working onto a new Cisco ASA5505. Pretty standard configuration.
    Setup:
    * Cisco VPN client on Windows 7 (v5.0.07.0290 x64 on Laptop1 and v5.0.07.0440 x64 on Laptop2)
    * PPPoE/NAT and internal DHCP on the ASA were configured with the Startup Wizard in ASDM
NATting is working fine - internal PCs get an IP address in the 192.168.2.0/24 range and can all access the Internet.
I wanted to be able to connect from anywhere to the ASA in order to reach one of the internal servers. Should be pretty basic.
First I tried with the built-in ASDM IPSec Wizard, instructions found here.
VPN clients can connect to the ASA, are connected (until they're manually disconnected), but cannot reach the internal network nor the Internet. Note VPN client can connect fine to a different VPN site (not administered by myself).
Client logs show following error messages:

I've already tried the suggestions from this link, although the problem is different there (as the user can still access the internet, even without split tunneling, which I cannot).
A show run shows the following output (note in the below I have tried a different VPN network: 192.168.3.0/24 instead of 172.16.1.0/24 seen in the Client log)
Result of the command: "sh run"

I've installed everything using the CLI as well (after a factory reset). This however yielded exactl the same issue.

Unfortunately I'm getting the same "AddRoute failed to add a route with metric of 0: code 160" error message.
I'm very confused as this should be a pretty standard setup. I tried to follow the instructions on the Cisco site to the letter...
The only "differences" in my setup are an internal network of 192.168.2.0 (with ASA IP address 192.168.2.254) and PPPoE with DHCP instead of no PPPoE at all.
Does anyone know what's going on?

Yes, I have tried from a different laptop - same results. Using that laptop I can connect to a different IPSec site without issues.

  • Cisco ASA 5505 VPN help for local lan access.

    Hi all,
I am very new to Cisco systems. Recently I was tasked to enable local lan access for one of my server. The problem is this. I have this server with 2 interfaces. One interface to my FTP server(192.168.2.3) and the other to the Cisco ASA(192.168.1.1). Whenever I connect the server to Cisco Anyconnect VPN, I am unable to access the FTP server anymore.
I googled and found out that the problem is because the metric level is 1 for Ciscoanyconnect network interface which causes all traffic to go through the Cisco VPN Interface. Another problem is I can't change the metric of the Cisco VPN Interface as whenever I reconnect to the VPN, the metric resets back to 1 again. I tried to follow some guides to configure split tunnel but my traffic is still going through the VPN connection.
Anyone can tell me what I am missing here? Sorry I am very new to Cisco systems. Spent about 5 days troubleshooting and I feel I am getting it soon. Anyone can guide me what else I am supposed to do?
What I did> Configuration>> Remote access VPN>> Network Client Access>> Group Policies>> Advanced>> Split Tunneling>> Uncheck Inherit and select "Exclude Network List below.>> Uncheck Network List and select Manage, Add 192.168.2.0/24 to permit.
Really appreciate if anyone can tell me what else I can do to ensure my server has access the my FTP Server after connecting to the VPN.
    Thanks all!
    Wen Qi

    Hi,
    Try adding the following configuration
    policy-map global_policy
    class inspection_default
      inspect pptp
    And then try again.
I'm not 100% would you need to perhaps allow GRE through the firewall even after that. (Protocol 47)

  • Cisco ASA 5505 Ipsec VPN and random connection dropping issues.

    Hello,
We are currently having issues with a ASA 5505 Ipsec VPN. It was configured about 7-8 months ago and has been running very well..up until the last few weeks.  For some reason, the VPN tends to randomly disconnect any user clients connected a lot.  Furthermore, sometimes it actually connects; however does not put us on the local network for some reason and unable to browse file server.  We have tried rebooting the ASA a few times and our ISP Time Warner informed us there are no signs of packet loss but still unable to pinpoint the problem.  Sometimes users close out of VPN client completely, reopen several times and then it works.  However it's never really consistent enough and hasn't been the last few weeks.  No configuration changes have been made to ASA at all.  Furthermore, the Cisco Ipsec VPN client version is: 5.0.70
Directly below is our current running config (modded for public).  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Otherwise, if everything looks good...then I will defer back to our ISP Time Warner:
