Anyconnect Profile Issue

Hello,
I have 2 asa firewall in HA where I have created any-connect vpn profile for end users
All users profile are stored in flash as well as anyconnect client image
Suddenly due to some reason I need to shutdown my primary firewall
All things works good, secondary firewall came up,but no any connect user are able to connect their profile
When I see in ASA there are no profiles available in flash which I created in primary firewall
Its seems veired to me as both firewall config must be synced,..
Cn anyone help us what was the issue
or Should I need to create profile on both the firewall

AnyConnect profiles (and a few other things) are not automatically synchronized between ASAs in a failover pair. I'm not sure why Cisco has never fixed this but it's been a documented bug for quite some time.
You need to copy the files manually. They are small xml files and usually not too hard to copy.
If you've lost the primary unit altogether, you will need to recreate the profiles on the secondary active unit.

AnyConnect Profiles not getting downloaded.

I am facing the following issue in AnyConnect VPN deployment.
Requirement - Users should receive ANyConnect Profile, which has SCEP enabled, so that they can request a certificate from the organization Microsoft CA.
i already have a Certificate on ASA from the same CA and i want to use certificate authentication for ANyconnect.
ASA version is 8.4, i defined the flow as
1: Create User > bind it with a group policy > bind group policy with tunnel-group ( Connection profile)
2: Define a profile ( that has SCEp enabled & CA information URL etc..) and bind it with the group policy and also add it under
   webvpn
   AnyConnect Profile ....
when i initiate https://ASA_Ip_Address i authenticate with the username/password created above, Anyconnect is installed and i am connected, but profile is no tis downloaded, because i see no change on my Anyonnect Screen to request for a certificate. it remains the same, as no profile is available.
have followed the standard procedure,..    Plz guide me, what could be going wrong.
Any inputs from your side will be highly appreicated.

As such i am using ASA 8.4, ASDM 6.47 & Anyconnect Package - Anyconnect-win-2.5.3055-k9.pkg ( i am using ver 2.5, because ver 3.0 does not support I Phones & Windows Mobile Phones).
Client PC - Windows 7 - 32 bit
1: i created Anyconnect profile using ASDM, it has simple settings to publish CA server details for SCEP, so that Anyconnect users can request the certificate through SCEP ( XML file attached)
2: As cheked profile folder is not available in
c:\program files \ cisco \ Cisco Anyconnect VPN Client
that simply means that profiles are not getting downloaded.
3: Configuration is attached & also the profile XML File.
you could try manually copying the xml onto a test client to see if it then behaves in the way you desire. - can u explain a bit more, how this testing can be done.
Plz let me know, what additional config is required.

there appear two error messages. the first one says that there has been a problem sincronizing because of a programme error. the second one appears after you clicked ok on the first window and says that photoshop couldn't be initialized because the icc profile is invalid.
does anyone know if i have to delete any system or photoshop preference? the illustrator is also having troubles. thanks

thanks! what finnally worked better was renaming the «settings» folder in te «color folder» in the library with ~before the name. now indesign is asking me for thw icc profiles but still works, so i asume i can reinstall color settings only for indesign and go on.

How to restrict a VPN user with a specific anyconnect profile?

I need to assign to anyconnect users different profiles. This is done easily with IPSec, with the group policy configured in the client. With anyconnect I have two options:
- Allow the user to select the connect profile: The problem here is the user can select any profile and connect with the rules and permissions configured in this profile. I do not how to force one specific profile for each user.
- Use the DefaultWebVPNGroup as connection profile for everybody combined with DAP. This what I am doing now. Everybody connect with the default anyconnect profile and I use DAP to assign each user the network ACL's, Bookmarks, etc. The problem here is that I can not use other options that are included in the profiles or in the policies, like split tunneling or user authentication method.
I have seen some answers about this point but none of them is clear enough. I am using ASA 5540 with 8.4(6) and Windows IAS radius.

Thanks Elias. This works. Easy to configure. When I connect using the client it takes de group policy from the radius attribute 25 and apply it.
Just one little problem. This doesn't work with bookmarks when the user connect with WebVPN. In the logs I can see the connection taking the correct group policy but the bookmarks from that policy are not applied. Any idea?

Colour Profile issues between North America and Europe

I have a corporate colour, C80M80Y0K0 which creates a very attractive shade of purple. Within North America all printouts demonstrate very similar variations of that purple colour. We have an office in UK that uses the same collateral pieces. While they preview correctly on screen, they are unable to reproduce that purple in their office or with their professional suppliers (all digital processes). The resultant colour is blue (approx C92M68Y18K0).
The files are created in Indesign, using a process colour within Indesign, and then exported to a PDF and shared with the UK office.
My guess is that it is a colour profile issue - has anyone else had this same issue, and if it is indeed a colour profile issue, what profile would you recommend using? I've tried using some of the other default profiles within Indesign but with no luck.
Any assistance would be really appreciated.

The resultant colour is blue (approx C92M68Y18K0).
What preset are you using for the Export, or what are the Output settings? Have you tried PDF/X?
PDF/X-4 will leave color unchanged and profile everything, so a color change like you are describing most likely means the wrong output profile is being used in the UK.
PDF/X-1a forces everything into your doc's CMYK space and makes conversions at output less likely—with X-1a your 80|80|0|0 mix will probably be output unchanged.

Slow Broadband Connection - Likely IP Profile Issu...

For an age I've had a rubbish broadband connection, but the hassle of call centres and engineer visits have put me off sorting it out. In August I got frustrated enough to try to get it resolved - I have a couple of work/study things that need a decent internet connection. After repeatedly trying all the troubleshooting guides and the suchlike, I finally noticed a reference to IP Profiles on the BTW performance test results.
Further research suggested my practice of turning the Home Hub 3 off when not in use has likely resulted in a fault profile being created, limiting me to 0.25Mbps. This conclusion was backed up by a relative and a friend who are BT engineers. I left the Home Hub 3 on for 30 days, but there was no improvement. I turned the hub on and off to see if it needed to reset itself, but no improvement. It has now been on for 12 days. The advice on the forum and from others seems to be that I need BTW to reset my profile as it has become set at the fault level, because I left it too long to sort out.
I have now sent an email to BT support, but the initial response suggests they are going to go through every step on the way, despite me laying out all of this. I keen to know your thoughts on if I'm in the right diagnosis area and whether there's a quicker way to get the IP Profile reset to see if that is the issue?

it is not an IP Profile issue as on ADSL2+the profile follows the connection speed automatically your problem is a banded profile caused by a number of hub disconnections /restarts you need to maintain a stable connection 24/7 for the next 3/5 days and then your noise margin will then start drop and your speed start to increase this link explains more http://forumhelp.dyndns.info/speed/speed_drop.html

HT204387 BOSE Bluetooth wireless headphones work with iPhone but not iMac - Profile issue I assume - but why not!!!!

I have a great pair of BOSE wirless headphones that connect faultlessy to my iPhone. I'm very dissappointed however to find that I cannot use the same headphonse on my iMac or my MacBook Air. I assume it's a bluetooth profile issue but in product utility terms it makes no sense. Is anyone aware of a way of circumventing this resytiction (e.g. third-party product, mac setting,...etc)?

I have experienced this since purchasing the 6+. Now, I attempting to pair the phone to Sync in my Ford F150, it
can't find the phone. I go through any number of attempts: rebooting the phone, finding a bluetooth device on Sync, etc.
Most of the time it shows a "cannot find bluetooth device". Or the Sync shows a pairing number to type in the phone in order
to pair, but the iPhone doesn't see Sync, so nothing can be done.
Sometimes, and I mean only sometime, the device is paired by itself. (On sync, "choose input: usb or bluetooth" and trying this
several times, Lo and Behold.....wait for it......the iPhone 6+ connects!
This is not what I had, an iPhone 4S, that one pairing, and always paired. (truck off, crank and instantly paired). The old days!
I have check Ford to look for an update. I have the latest from 2012. The final one for my truck model year.
This version of iOS needs works and must be updated again.
I don't know who to contact at Apple but the mods here don't say how to do that. It another Apple waiting and see.
If I find a solution, I will post it immediately. I hope you will post as well. Thanks for reading.

Windows Server 2012 R2 Session Host Server Temp Profile issue.

I successfully Deployed Windows server 2012 r2 Terminal services with High Availability.
After Rebooting Session Host Server i am facing Temp Profile issue. After i Deleted registry and rebooting server and tried to login again but same popup message you have login with temp profile.
Any suggestions or any hints would be GREATLY appreciated

Anyconnect license issue?

I’ve a question about the Anyconnect Premium license.
Yesterday I tested different Anyconnect profiles on an ASA5505 (9.0.1), everything works perfectly.
On the same ASA I’ve an IKEv2 site-to-site VPN. When I add the DH-group 14 and 19 to the IKEv2 policy and restart the site-to-site tunnel, the tunnel runs perfectly (with DH-group 19). So far so good. I don’t removed DH-group 5 in de IKEv2 policy, just added DH-group 14 and 19.
After these change, Anyconnect won't connect. I got these log information when I try to connect with Anyconnect (IKEv2).
“Make sure that either an Anyconnect Premium license is installed on the ASA or that no NSA Suite B crypto algorithms are configured in the remote access IKEv2 policies or IPsec proposals.”
When I restore the IKEv2 policy to (only) DH-group 5, the problem is gone and Anyconnect can connect properly.
I found this information (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Administrator Guide, Release 3.1).
• NGE requires an AnyConnect premium license for IKEv2 remote access connections using NSA
Suite B algorithms. Suite B algorithm usage for other connections or purposes (such as PKI) has no
limitations. License checks are performed for remote access connections. If you receive a message
that you are attempting to use an NSA Suite B crypto algorithm without an AnyConnect premium
license, you have the option to either install the premium license or reconfigure the crypto settings
to an appropriate level.
What is going on?? As far as I know the ASA5505 have default 2 Premium licenses…

Q. Is Next-Generation Encryption available on all platforms?
A. Next-Generation Encryption is fully supported on the following Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Series: ASA 5500-X (5515, 5525, 5545, and 5555), ASA 5580, ASA 5585, and ASA-SM. Next-Generation Encryption is only partially supported on the Cisco ASA 5505, 5510, 5520, 5540, and 5550 Series Adaptive Security Appliances due to hardware limitations. Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.1 or later and an AnyConnect™ Premium license are also required to use Next-Generation Encryption for remote access connections.
I think the problem would be the hardware, ASA5505 is not supporting DH-group 14,19 etc. for Anyconnect 3.x. But, IKEv2 site-to-site seems to support DH-group 14,19 etc.

As evident from your screenshot, those letters are not blown in raw - there are only a few pixels where one of the channels (blue) is reaching saturation. However, that blue color is very saturated and is mostly falling outside output color space (which is usually sRGB or Adobe RGB) or in other words, your monitor isn't able to display that color
Conversion from raw color space to output color space is done using profiles and can be colorimetric or perceptual. If conversion is colorimetric, colors outside output color space are simply clamped into the range (for instance RGB -15, -30, 270 --> 0, 0, 255). If conversion is perceptual, colors that would fall outside color space are compressed into it (for instance it could be -15, -30, 270 --> 10, 5, 253). In first case, colors inside output color space are 'correct', while those outside are wrong - less saturated and possibly with wrong hue. In the second case, colors outside color space are 'less wrong', but colors inside color space are also 'less correct', but overall result is mostly more pleasing to the eye. This compression is performed differently by each manufacturer.
Each camera model has own set of profiles. Most simple profile is an 3x3 array named color matrix, used for this color conversion - it is embedded in ACR for all supported cameras and can be also written in raw file. It is colorimetric. Then there is Adobe standard profile for all supported cameras in form of dcp file. It is a combination of matrix and lookup table conversion, which is still close to being colorimetric (however, there are several versions). Other profiles that are emulating camera rendering are perceptual (on some cameras there is also one profile said to be colorimetric, for instance Faithful profile in Canon cameras). Unfortunately, there are no camera profiles for Olympus yet, so colorimetric conversion is the only option (ok, another option is using new version of sRGB profile and its perceptual rendering intent, but it is not possible directly in ACR).
In this particular case, you can improve the look of those letters by moving saturation slider of blue primary (camera calibration tab) from 0 to about -15, which will modify color matrix used for conversion and desaturate whole blue range. Or do the similar thing with slider in HSL tab
If PV2010 used, some of blown blue color turns violet. It's also a know issue, actually I also reported it several years ago, and is caused by usage of Photo pro color space as intermediate and some clamping of values in ACR workflow. In this case it may be corrected in calibration tab by moving blue hue slider a bit to left, which will change hues of blue range towards cyan.
Etc. This area is quite complex, I'm familiar only with a small part of it, which I needed for making camera profiles

AnyConnect - connection profiles issue

Hello,
I've configured AnyConnect SSL VPN for two connections profiles which can be chosen when I try to establish connection. Following aliases has been configured for those con profiles:
* Con1
* Con2
the problem is that every time when I try to select the second one (Con2) from the group list it utomatically returns to the first one (con1). Generaly I am not able to choose Con2. It looks like the Con1 is the default and I can connect using only this profile. I've checked the preferences.xml and preferences_global.xml files and the default group is not configured. What is more when I change the aliases name for those connection profiles to:
* 1Con2
* Con1
I can choose only 1Con2 so it seems that only the first con prof on the list can be used. Any ideas?

Something similar happend to me when I changed the profile name on the server and reconnected. The client found the old profile with the same server address and switched to the old profile although I had provided a new profile on the VPN server.
Just clear all profiles from the specified locations and connect to the server once again. Anyconnect will establish a connection and download the new profile. You should only see the new connection profile offered in the drop down box after that.
If you want to provide two different protocols (SSL and IPsec) for the same server you configure only one profile with two entries in the server list, one with SSL, the other IPsec as a preferred protocol.
In that case you will have a single profile but two choices in the drop down box on the Anyconnect client.

Anyconnect profiles using by using different extended key attributes

Hi,
I have an anyconnect VPN with workstations located in the same OU in Active Directory. The current anyconnect deployment uses seperate OUs to determine what profile is applied to the client.
I'm looking for a solutiuon to enable machines to be located in a single OU & still have the ability to apply different profiles to machines.
The only way I can think of doing this is using machine certificates in Active Directory & configuring different extended key attributes.
Any advice/suggestions or information on the best way of doing this would be greatly appreciated

Resolved my own issue today. The error does nothing to describe the actual cause. The user's private key was corrupted (uncertain as to how). The certificate GUI in Windows showed it was okay, but running "certutil -store -user my" showed the error "Missing stored keyset" on the certificate in question.
The resolution was to delete the certificate and enroll for a new one, with a new key pair.

Roaming Profile issues

Hi all,
Since we migrated the infrastructure of our client to Win 8.1 and Server 2012 we are experiencing issues with roaming profiles. Before they had Win 7 and SBS Server 2003. The users have different problems:
RemoteApps are not working anymore (error 0x80070003), means we need to delete the contents of "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\workspaces\Feeds\" and "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Workspaces\"
The computer does not download the profile from the server so that the most recent local profile will be loaded. Events: "User Profiles General - 1509" and "User Profile Service - 1540" (I don't have the English error message available).
When this happens once, it never will work again even after days. Only deleting the local profile and re-login will solve the issue
And then there is the next problem! After deletion of the local profile and re-login with the users profile, the profile will be downloaded from the server. But there are always two things missing:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX: No right-click-menu on the start button available
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\[Default-Icons]: There are no standard programs available in the start menu, such as explorer, IE, Calc, etc because of the missing shortcuts. When I checked the server I saw that the shortcuts
disappeared some days ago (previous versions)
So my questions here are
Why isn't the WinX folder being created? The local Default profile does contain it.
Where are the start menu shortcuts gone? I don't think it's caused by the user because it already happened 4 or 5 times.
This applies to migrated users but also to newly created users in the WIn8 environment and on different machines. I hope anyone had similar issues and was able to solve it..?

IPhoto fix that worked for me (Coregraphics & Adobe Color Profiles issues)

Ok, I posted a few days back in reference to getting help with my iPhoto. I do apologize on the fact this is quite the long post but maybe it will be easy to understand for those who are like me and not all that computer literate. I searched all the discussions and used all the different advice from different people but had no luck. I was able to FINALLY get iPhoto up and running again last night after doing just a few simple things. Please note that this may not work for everyone. Also please note that I AM NOT an expert in dealing with computers and working with computers. It's just that my ADD kicks in when something needs fixing and I won't stop till its finished. -Run and attempt to repair any Color Profiles that may need to be fixed. There were 4 that could not be fixed for me. Locate these profiles and move them to your desktop (Note: I was still able to open and use all applications in my Adobe CS6 Master Collection after moving these profiles but you may want to check just to be sure if you are using Adobe).
-Even though I had done this many times, run the Disk Utility App in your Utilities Profile and Verify and Repair any permission needed (For me, I had none at this time that needed to be repaired).
-Next, I did an Apple Hardware Test. For me and the model Macbook Pro I am using, I had to restart my computer and when the screen went black for me at restart about the time the start up sound is about to come on, I pressed ALT-D. On some models you just have to press D. I did disconnect everything prior to doing this except the power cord and the Internet. I did a full AHT test that took about an hour or so. If you get an error code, be sure and right it down whereas your issue may be something different than mine and this will not apply to you. There were no problems from the test and then restarted the computer.
-At restart I decided to get into the OS X Recovery by pressing Command-R to either start from scratch or find some other way to fix the issue because I was tired of racking my brain on this and was about to throw the computer in to the wall.

-Once in the OS X Recovery from the Mac OS X Utilities Pane, I selected reinstall and then I selected my current Hard Drive. Luckily by doing this (not that I was aware or anything, but none of my files or folders were deleted and it only reinstalled Mountain Lion and whatever else it needed)
-This process took about an hour and once finished, I restarted my computer
-I logged back in to my account but did not attempt iPhoto at this time. Instead I immediately checked to make sure that 10.8.3 was what was reinstalled back on my Mac. I then checked for Software Updates which I had a few and installed these updates.
-I then went back to the Disk Utilities App from my Utilities folder and Verified the Disk and Disk Permission. To my surprise, many of the files that were in the iPhoto crash thread (posted above) were now showing up as needing to be repaired. I repaired what needed to be repaired.
-I verified all my Color Profiles to make sure none were showing up again (which there were none that needed to be repaired)
-I did a check check of some Adobe CS6 Apps just to verify they were opening and working correctly
-I restarted my Mac (Once again) and logged back in. I opened up iPhoto and everything worked and is working PERFECTLY. I then re-connected my printers and my Time Machine and performed a back up before importing photos back in to iPhoto. I DO WISH NOW THOUGH THAT I HADN'T DELETED AND RE-INSTALLED IPHOTO but it is nice being able to start over and organize iPhoto a little better than before.
I am sorry this is such a long post but for people like me who are not professionals in the computer department, sometimes it's good to "dumb" things done so that us "average joes" can understand a little better. Hopefully this will work for those who are having issues like mine. Thanks for all the help from everyone from my previous posts.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
