AnyConnect. ( version 3.1.02026 ) and Arris cable modem connection problem

I had a new Arris high speed Cablevision cable modem installed. I can connect to the internet but cannot now get to the Oracle Network  using Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and myaccess.oraclevpn.com.
Cisco  connects OK and I put in my VPN password in, hit OK but then get message ‘Failed to get configuration from secure gateway.Contact you system administrator’  Then error Anyconnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway.

  • Why has my native windows 7 Pro-64 network to a windows 7 Pro-64 VM has slowed to a crawl and freezes, after the new Arris cable modem was installed?

Please appreciate the details, so the complete situation can be visualized:
    The office network:
New Mac Mini PC running Win 7Pro 64, (in boot camp), networked to an iMac running the same Win 7 Pro 64, VM, UNDER Fusion 7Pro.
To review: My treatment rooms former dell PC/running vista business/ running the server and network versions of my Dental practice mgmt & X-ray capture apps, had no probs WLAN to the front desk iMac running the same PC client dental network apps under the same vista business, & Fusion 4. The dell slowly fried its power supply .
I could not wait to replace it with a Mac mini/ boot camp/ win7 pro 64 bit, as it has to run natively to capture X-rays. The front desk iMac was also upgraded to os10.10.3/ Fusion 7pro/ and its own matching Win7 pro 64bit. The iMac is wired and WLAN connected to a netgear d600 router and a Time Warner Cable  modem. The modem then failed and was replaced by an arris modem. As the Arris was configured out of the box, the network ran much slower slowed, as compared to the original modem. BUT-  The Vonage 2 line phone system stopped working- no incoming or outgoing voices could be heard after it rang. Then twc remote configured it and the phone now works, but the network iMac slowed to a crawl, and now freezes when accessing the Mac Mini PC dental server to edit or enter data. The Mini perfectly accesses the internet via wifi. It accesses the front desk canon  printer by wifi, and can print share they the iMac that is wired to the printer, as well, BUT, the network connection is a spinning pinwheel. The front desk imac easily finds the Mac Mini PC server on the network. It connects easily by entering the servers IPv4 address SHOULD THAT last value change.  But if data isn't entered in slow motion, the window and app freezes, and has to be force quit by Task Manager!
    Cause:
    1. I think TWC switched the cable modem from the default- Non Bridged, to Bridged mode. Could this be the cause?
    2. The network setting in fusion, on the iMac is auto detect, a setting that always worked with vista and with the new Win7 system, before TWC installed the new arris modem. 3. Switching to NAT does not work at all is there a different setting to use?
    3. Does the Netgear Router  have to have a port or pref configured so as not to block the  Server.
    4. might in need an Access Point (I have an extra netgear wdr3400) ).
    5. Do I need an Extender that plugs into the AC LINE?
    I hope this info helps.
    PS:(some addtl info:
    1. File sharing works fine between the minis -Mac and boot camp sides and between the iMacs- Mac and VM sides and between eother side to or from either of the 2 computers! 2. Also  either office computer and all of my my home macs , (& my iPad, & iPhone), can access each other instantly and flawlessly, with splash top streamer and jump desktop remote apps, as controller or as client!  In fact, the front desk iMac can remote control the mini PC AS IF YOU WERE DIRECTLY ENTERING INFO I TO IT!
SO I think it's either a misconfiguration in the TWC cable modem  &/or some additional pref to config in the router? Thanks so much for your help, (been using VM's since VPC1. & Win95 in a iMac, 1999, DV MODEL! (TWC BLAMES VONAGE FOR NOT OPENING SOME PORTS IN THE TELE MODEM. Vonage blames TWC FOR NOTopeningj ITS PORTS IN THE CABLE MODEM, when they meant the ports on the Netgear.  They have passed the buck for 6 weeks with not even a guess at what to do. VERY FRUSTRATING!  Again, thanks to all!

    Okay Saint Steven, I'll bite:
I read your description multiple times, very carefully, and I am still confused. May I suggest the following:
    * Follow basic troubleshooting procedures. Isolate each individual problem. Don't try to get everything working at once. Make one change at a time.
    * If I read your description correctly, the Netgear D600 (??) Router is the office LAN (not WLAN). Connect each piece on the LAN separately one-by-one, and test each piece individually. Get your LAN and its devices working first. Forget about the Vonage and the Arris Cable modem.
    * Next, look at your Internet connection. Again, try each piece separately. Depending on how the original cable modem and the new Arris cable modem are configured, you may also have to adjust the configuration of the Netgear D600 Router.
    * Finally, if you are still having problems, try to organize your thoughts and presentation before you post again. List each element in your network. List how each element is configured. Be systematic.
"Arris cable modem" does not help much - some are simple bridges, others are routers, etc.
    To answer your questions:
    1. I can't tell from your confusing description, but I don't think so. It seems like the problems are associated with the system changes you made (replacing Dell, etc.) and the problems seem to be isolated to the local LAN.
    2. Auto detect should work, but it is easy to change and test, as long as you change one thing at a time.
    3. No. The Netgear router should allow all communications on the local LAN. Could you have put the "server" in the DMZ?
Note: I could not find a Netgear "D600" model in a web search. Do you mean N600?
    4. No. I doubt that you need an additional access point. Based on your description, everything appears to connect to the LAN.
    5. No. See 4.
    To repeat myself:
    * Do careful, systematic troubleshooting.
    * Provide carefully written, detailed description of your network and system configurations when you ask for help.
    Good luck!

  • EA3500 loses connection to Arris cable modem and goes dormant

Just installed the EA3500 within the last 2 weeks. I've had 3 instances now where I come home
from work and the port light on the cable modem is not blinking to indicate a valid connection to
the router, all connections to Comcast are green and working. Unplugging the power to the
EA3500 causing a reboot brings the connection back up. Would appreciate hints on how to
debug this - firmware appears to be the latest and greatest (1.1.39.145204). The cable modem
connection to my older D-link router worked fine without issues. I have 1 hardwired link on the
router to a Dell desktop system and an array of wireless devices, all are dead to the net when
the router acts like this. One last piece of info- only the power light appears green when it's in
the hung state - the yellow and green LEDs to the hardwired link go dark.
    Thanks for any help,
    Chris

What setting do you have for your Internet connection in the router?

  • AirPort Extreme/Router/Arris Cable Modem

I have Cable internet, and I'm using an Arris Cable Modem. I got a router a while back, and it was working great between my PC and PowerBookG4, when one day it stopped working. I eventually through the router out. Yesterday, I tried connecting the Arris Cable Modem wire to my AirPort Extreme. I turned on my Powerbook, and in the little AirPort icon I had 4 bars, so I assumed I had a connection. I opened up Safari, but I couldn't get anything. I tried restarting, reconnecting, and anything else I figured would effect the connection. The lights on the AirPort express, when I connect the wire, are...1st one is blinking, but slowly, 2nd is steady, 3rd blinks. I'm wondering if theres something preventing me from using the Cable Modem w/ Airport Express.
    - Thanks in advance.

Connect the cable modem to the Airport Base Station's WAN port (that's the port labelled with the "circle of dots" icon). Then pull both the modem and the Airport Base Station from power for at least five minutes. Then plug the modem into power and wait a minute. Then plug the Base Station into power and wait a minute. Then try internet access via the Base Station again.
That's my only bit of advice. No other suggestions if that fails to work.

  • Configuring WRT54G with Arris Cable Modem (Comcast)

Recently got Comcast high speed internet. They gave me an Arris Telephony Touchstone modem # TM502G. I don't have any problem with the wireless aspects of the WRT54G, however I cannot get the router to make an internet connection with the modem. I have cloned the MAC address and I have changed the local IP address to 192.168.2.1. None of these actions have caused the modem and router to communicate. I would appreciate any help to quickly rectify this problem.

I have a Arris Cable Modem.. model #TM502G. I am having a problem connecting to the Linksys WRT54G...
Can you give me step-step instructions ? I simply can not log on.

Disconnect the iPad, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!, reconnect and follow the prompts.

I have an older plug in version of Airport Express and am trying to connect it to my wifi network to boost coverage but it is not connecting to my network.

What is the make & model of the wireless router that you are trying to "boost" with the AirPort Express? Is your Express an 802.11g or 802.11n model? Is the connection between routers going to be a wired or wireless one?

  • Wrt54gs router to internet cable modem connection drop

With the wrt54gs router set at auto dhcp and mostly on default settings, after some time of inactivity the connection between the router and internet cable modem drops out.  That is, when there is no activity (no transmission to/from internet) the connection drops and the wireless connections shows "local only."  Any suggestions/comments on why this is so?  Thanks!

Have you tried to connect the Modem to the computer and checked if you are facing the same problem or not?
On your Router setup page, change the MTU size from AUTO to Manual and change the Size from 1500 to 1350 and click on Save Settings..... Then click on the Wireless tab and below Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Click on the sub tab under Wireless "Advanced Wireless Settings"
Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

I have contacted EA about this and can find no help. I had this Scrabble on my iPad2 and began to have connection problems, it would lock in the "connecting" position. This is not the first time Scrabble has had problems with interface. Typically customers delete the Ap then download it again to reinstall it. During the process you sign in and approve the purchase KNOWING that another window will open saying that you have previously purchased it and that there is no charge. So what happened this time? It will not connect and all of my saved and current games are wiped out. I want my money back, this game interface is pretty junk and operates like some ancient DOS program,,bug, bug, buggy. I want my money back.

  • WRT54GS with Mac OS 10.6.8 and RCN cable modem not working

    Hello,
I have a Linksys WRT54GS, version 6 with Mac OS X (version 10.6.8) hooked up to a Scientific Atlantic cable modem, with RCN as the ISP.
Recently, RCN had some network issues, and so I had to power down and reset my modem. The modem is working fine now -- no problems at all when the Mac is connected direclty to the modem.
The router's network is OK in that I can connect the Mac wirelessly to the network, but I can't connect to the internet through the router (through neither the wireless or wired connection).
I have downloaded the latest firmware update for the router, following the Linksys site instructions, but this has not helped me solve the problem.
Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do? I did call Linksys tech support on the advice of RCN, and they said that the router does appear to be working (power, WLAN, and Internet lights are on), but they would be charging me nearly the cost of a new router to fix the problem.
    Any advice would be appreciated!

Since you upgraded the Router WRT54GS with the latest firmware so once reset the Router and power cycle the whole network… Then connect the Modem with Linksys Router on the Internet Port and then connect any one computer to any one of the Ethernet port on the Router [Numbered – 1, 2, 3 and 4]… Let me know the RCN connection is a DSL connection or cable connection…
So if you have a DSL connection you can refer to this link:
    http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=4020&userrole=Linksy...
So if you have a Cable Internet Connection you can refer to this link:
    http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&vw=1&articleid=3686
As far as the wireless is concern:
    # Open up the browser and on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 that will open up the Router setup page…
    # Then Click on wireless Tab create the Wireless Network Name SSID and select the channel to 6, 9, and 11… Click Save Settings...
    # Then Click on Wireless Security sub tab and select the security mode and provide the password as per the requirement… Click Save Settings...
After doing the settings try to connect the preferred network on the wireless devices and check the connectivity….

  • Arris Cable Modem + Airport Express = double NAT = weird resolution

I have a cable modem (Arris TM402P/110), which (theoretically) is a modem only, to which I have connected Airport Express. I was getting a yellow light and a double NAT signal from Airport. And, my daughter's PC was getting bumped off the connection intermittently.  When switching to "bridge" mode on Airport, the problem is resolved, and we are all accessing the Wi-Fi (iMac, 3 iphones, and 2 androids), and the light is now green on the router. How is this happening, if there's no router in my cable modem?  Does this make sense to anyone?
Doesn't airport express "bridge" mean that the Airport Express router function is nullified?
Is there something connected to my system functioning as a router otherwise, and I don't know it?!  Nothing else is plugged into the modem except the Airport!

If your client devices are all able to connect, it would appear the Arris TM402P/110 is in fact functioning as a router.
The documentation seems to imply as much, in that it states you can connect two or more computers directly to its LAN port:
To connect two or more computers to the Ethernet port, you will need a hub or broadband router
If it were strictly a modem, connecting a hub to it would not work.
    Wittymermaid wrote:

Yes. The documentation does not describe how to disable the Arris's router.
This is an old modem. While searching for your answer I determined that it does not support IPv6, which could be a problem in the future.

  • IBook and Comcast Cable modem--can't connect to Internet? Please help

    Hello everyone!
I have an ancient iBook . Here are the stats:Mac OSX version 10.0.3(told you it was ancient), 193MB, PowerPC G3. I bought it off of eBay about two in half years ago and it didn't come with an Airport card...I only received a laptop, the original box, some cds, and the adapter. I have a Comcast cable modem and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to connect my iBook with the modem. Prior to Comcast, I had Bellsouth and all I had to do was simply unplug one end from my mother's Dell and plug it into my iBook and it instantly connected. However, I can't do it with the Comcast. Can anyone tell me how? Pretty please?
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.0.x)   PowerPC G3, 193MB

You likely need to contact Comcast to get them to help you set up the iBook for your new cable internet service. They should be able to walk you through it.
In case it may be an encryption problem, you may want to check out iFelix's post in this thread:

    Good luck.

  • Arris Cable Modem not working with WRT54G Router

I am at my wits end.Comcast just changed my old RCA cable modem for an Arris Telephony modem.(I had Comcast phone service added)The tech that did the install said the wireless G network was all up and running. (My 3 other computers and printer) Well lo and behold the network does not work at all. I only get internet through my wired computer and cannot access my router through 192.168.1.1 anymore.I tried powering down the router and modem by holding the reset for 30 seconds and unplugging them. Any help GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanx!

ok man, good new and bad news. Good news, i know what ur goin through cause i have the exact same problem. Tried a new router too (wrt54g to no avail). Bad news i have no idea how to fix it. I've tried everything. Linksys tech support hasn't emailed back after their originaly fix which did nothing. Please PM me if you get any ideas. Ps Have you noticed that when the setup page times out you can't get an ip wirelessly. Also, my temporary fix is power cycling. Somtimes it works for a few days, or sometimes a few hours.

  • EA6300 and TWC Cable Modem-no connection for internet

I bought an EA6300 router and it is not connecting to the Time Warner Cable Modem box, Arris TM502G.
I have verified that my computer (obviously by this post), that if I connect directly to the Cable Modem box, I can get onto the internet.  Did I buy a too grandious router?
I talked with TMC and they said that the Dynamic Connection DACP would have to be configured on the router.
    Okay now I am confused.

Did you encounter an error message when going through the setup of the router? Before going through the setup again, reset the router first by pushing and holding the reset button using a pin until the power light will flash. Wait for the power light to go solid. On the computer that’s directly connected to the router, open up a browser and it should prompt you to setup the router. Just follow the onscreen instructions and it should let you setup the router. If the setup will fail, refer to the link provided by sabretooth on how to setup the router with a cable connection.
