Anymore mobile phones with fax modem feature

In my area, fax is still the preferred mode. Unfortunately, it seems hard find any mobile phones with fax modem built in. I was just wondering if anybody knows any mobile phone with fax modem built inside for sale anymore?
My Nokia 9500 is old already. The hinge crack badly recently. But I still use it because I need the fax modem feature.

Fax-handling facilities are now longer standard in any phones, because the demand for this diminished courtesy of e-mail and the mobile internet.
There have been, however, third party apps that provide certain fax functionality. A quick web search threw up these...

...both of which should work on the E90, which is the closest thing to a successor for the 9500 that you'll find.

  • Using nokia mobile phone as a modem problem

I want to link up two computer (running XP) throughh two modems.
First, I set a PC that use 56k dailup modem as become a server (accept incoming connection), then connected by a PC that use nokia 6230 modem as a client and success. The 56k dailup can receive the call automatically and each PC can access the local area network to another.
However, it has a problem when i try to use 56k modem to connect to 6230. it seems 6230 treat the call as a voice call and not answer to it and I must set 6230 as a server in my place.
Then, i replaced the 56k dailup modem by a nokia 6610i and installed the lastest driver. However, the 6610i cannot dailup or receive call from 6230 except a voice call.
Finally, i try to borrow another 6230 from my friend (two 6230) and all works fine.
    My question is:
    1. How can I set 6230 modem as a server to accept connection from 56k dailup modem automatically?
    or
    2. How can I make connection between 6230 and 6610i (they work as modems)?
    or
    3. What fuctions can make 6230 to connect to a 56k modem? (is it fax??coz i want to make sure another model i buy has this function)
    Thanks
    Derek

    Thank you Seraphim.
I think you are right because i just borrowed another 6230i from my friend. Now i have 6230 and 6230i, the ringing tone of the server (receive side) is different to a vice call and the connection between two computers is success.
I'm sorry if I may have made a wrong post here because i still have a problem in configing my 6610i as a modem in my windows. I have tried the "nokia 6610i Cable" and "nokia 6610i Infrared" Modem driver. I cannot dailup a call or receive data call. I saw the 6610i was trying to call out but all the calls returned "Disconnected" and even my home phone cannot be rang.
All of the cases I have tried are (the mobile phone worked as modem):
6230i call to 6230 (result: connection success)
6230 call to 6230i (result: connection success)
6230 call to Voice Phone (result: normal ring)
6610i call to Voice Phone (result: no ring, disconnected)
6610i call to 6230 (result: no ring, disconnected)
6230 call to 6610i (result: no ring, disconnected)
I have tried to set the 6610i in different windows (xp and 2000) but still fail and i also tried to replace the sim. card in 6610i by the one in 6230 but still fail....so the one i could guess is my nokia 6610i modem driver has some problems but i'm using the one that i just download today 26/03/2004, 1.0.2.4.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Is it possible to use a Nokia mobile phone as a modem for my ipad2, which hasn't, got 3G. If so does anybody know how?

Is it possible to use my Nokia X6 mobile phone as a modem for my Ipad2, which is not 3G enabled. If so how?

You need to download something called JoikuSpot from the Nokia Store, they were giving it away free last week. You then follow the instructions to basically set up a little wifi hotspot, look at the settings carefully and create a password to get on it, by default it creates an open network so anyone can use it.

  • Satellite M40-237: How to connect the mobile phone with Bluetooth

I have a new Noki 62333 and I have a Satellite Toshiba M40- 237. I have a big problem with the conection between them. I don t know how to turn on bluetooth on my pc. Can you help me????

    Hello Iva
A friend of mine has Satellite M40 and I know that this unit is delivered without BT module. If the unit has BT module you will find BT label on the bottom side of your notebook.
To establish BT connection with his mobile phone he uses BT USB stick.
By the way: does Iva comes from Zagreb, Croatia?

  • Hey, does anybody know how can i have two different apple ids on my mac imessages, because i have two mobile phones with different ids and i would like to be able to send imessages from both accounts on my mac. Tnx

Hey does anybody know how to set up 2 apple ID on mac imessages? Because i have 2 different iphones and i would like to send imessages fron both accounts on my mac...

Associate your mobile numbers with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
    Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

  • I want to use my windows mobile phone as a modem connected to the usb port of mac AERO...But does not work, no reaction

    can anibody help?

First of all, are you using a Windows Phone (windows phone 7 or 7.5) or a Windows Mobile (6.1, 6.5) phone?
Windows Mobile phones are generally not compatible with macs for USB internet tethering. They do work OK by sharing via Bluetooth or Wifi.

  • Pairing mobil phone with iMac

I would like to send some photos from my Samsung mobil phone to my new iMac using Bluetooth. I can get the devices to pair with no problem but the "Connected" button goes red (not connected) and I can't find a way to change it to green. When I go to the photo screen in the phone and try to send a photo the phone does not recognize the computer at all. I've connected the computer to the phone and then the phone to the computer. Bluetooth sharing in preferences is on. No help. Any ideas?

The connected light only goes green when there is some actual Bluetooth activity going on between the two devices. When they are just paired it will be red. It will turn to green automatically when the phone and computer are actually communicating.
I don't know about your Samsung specifically, but usually when you send a photo by Bluetooth the phone will search for Bluetooth devices and give you a list of ones it finds, then you choose the one you want to send to.
Also, another possibility is to try browsing the device from the Mac via the Bluetooth menu, and pull the photos across that way.

  • Can't sync bluetooth mobile phone with wireless keyboard or mouse

    Hi,
I can't sync my mobile phone (K750) when I am working with my wireless keyboard and my wireless mighty mouse.
When I start the sync progress I loose contact to my mouse & keyboard....the sync progress starts with the mobile phone, but after transferring some data it also looses contact to the phone, so the sync interrupts. After some seconds I get back in contact to my mouse & keyboard.
When I turn off my wireless mouse & keyboard and I am using a wired keyboard & mouse instead everything is working fine!
    Any ideas????
    Many greetings,

  • How to share internet connection from notebook to mobile phone with micro usb cord in Debian based OS? (reverse tethering)

I want to share internet connection from notebook to my mobile phone (Keon) with micro usb cord (because I don't have wifi). I found in Firefox OS (version: Boot2Gecko 1.1.1.0-prerelease) Settings only the possibility to share internet from mobile phone to PC. I use a Debian based OS: Knoppix. I tried to accomplish this with Networking Manager and I did a new wired connection via my phone with "Shared to other computers" IPv4 Settings and with FE:...:02 (usb0) MAC address. But on my phone there is not internet although the connecton between my notebook and phone is estableshed.

    Hi Pimpo,
Thank you for posting your question. I was trying to reproduce your the Shared network, and I would love to know what kind of network you used to connect. This is not possible as of yet and I will file a bug being able to do this, but to make sure I have the right steps on the bug can you confirm the set up of the shared network please?
Also this is currently not possible because the software does not know how to send network traffic over usb, assuming you do not have the ability to turn the computer into a wifi hot spot, which I would recommend instead...

  • Can I have more than 1 contract mobile phone with ee?

My partner currently has a contract with ee till July 2016. Can he get another mobile phone contract in his name for my daughter?

Yes you can. But do remember that EE are not responsible for her usage if she runs up a large bill. EE do not give contracts to under 18s for this very reason but having said that that's not to say she will.

  • Key mapping question. (for mobile phones with PC-like keyboard)

For phones with mini keyboard (one button per one character, like a PC keyboard).
I'm trying to implement a form with few text boxes. The goal is to let user type the message like they're using a PC keyboard (unlike in traditional phones, where you need to press the 'numpad two' button three times in order to type the character 'C')
I've successfully implemented this functionality. But it's an ugly implementation because I use a switch-cases for each and EVERY keycodes.
    Forexample:
    char inputChar;
    switch(keyCode)
    case 97: input = 'A' break;
    case 98: input = 'B' break;
// go on until every keys are covered, including the lower case letters. T_T
    buffer.append(inputChar);
Yes I know that my programming skill is real crap >_<, so I try google for some good implementation method. But I always found only the detail about the traditional numpad implementations.
Ok, my real question is, can this keyboard implementation be done in a better way? The code should be able to look more beautiful than this, right?
    Thank you. =)

I still don't get the problem here?
A textbox in a form will work just fine with those mini keyboards. You don't need to do anything for it..
Otherwise, this code can obviously be done better, a simple array where you just lookup your keycode will be much simpler and faster for instance.

  • How to undo an accidental deletion on mobile phone with iSync?

    Hi!
I accidentally deleted all my calendar information on my Nokia E90. I have all the information on my iCal but if I now sync the phone with it to my understanding the iCal information will be deleted as well. How can I restore the calendar information back to my phone?

Click the icon for your phone in iSync, then choose Reset Device from the Devices menu.
It's also advisable to make a backup of your Contacts and Calendars first using the relevant command on the File menu in both Address Book and iCal.

  • Problem With Fax Modem 43R1814 CallerID

The Caller ID Doesn't Appear when I Use The Command AT+VCID=1 and the fax replies with OK. and when I use the Command AT#CID=1 The fax Replies with ERROR,any Ideas How to Read The Caller ID

    Hi again,
It's difficult for me to offer anymore than generalized advice but I'll try to be helpful.
I'd start by removing the existing modem and restarting the computer.  One of the error messages mentioned PCI Slot 1.  This is probably the modem.  If ALL the error messages go away it's a pretty good indication that the modem is the problem and replacement is in order.  I would attempt simply re-seating the modem in it's slot first however and restarting.
I'm pretty sure that the proper drivers would be found automatically for the existing modem.  If not, there's a rather generalized Readme file and a program called HXFSetup.exe which is probably the program you would need to run if required.
While you're in the computer, disconnecting and reconnecting things might be better than just a visual inspection.  Twisting the cooling fan housing on the  CPU with moderate force shouldn't hurt anything and who knows?
If it turns out that the modem is the problem (which I doubt), installing the other modem shouldn't be a problem, assuming it fits and you have the drivers for it.  Again, good luck.
    Jim
P.S.  If you haven't already done so, Google all the error messages and see if there seems to be any common element.  There are diagnostic programs available on the web but I've never found one that helped me with a trouble, perhaps someone has and can make a recommendation.

  • Why can't i pair my i-phone 4s with other mobile phones?

Why can't i pair or connect to other mobile phones with my i-phone 4s?

Because that is not a feature of the iPhone.
See the supported Bluetooth profiles here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647
If you let us know why you want to pair your iPhone with other phones, we can probably suggest alternative methods of doing what you want.

  • Tether MBP to Win Mobile Phone as Modem

Has anyone successfully tethered a Windows Mobile phone as a modem?

I do not have internet access setup on my phone. can
i still use the phone (via bluebooth) to dial my ISP?
for example...i would dial a number say 888.555.1212
with my user name and password configured in the
    bluetooth setting?
Yes that is possible if your phone can act as a modem (non-GPRS) though note that your speed will be 9.6Kbps which is really sssslllllooowww.
Probably okay for plain text e-mail from my experience and just not viable for web browsing.
the link you gave me talks about GPRS for phone that
has internet access, but i do not have that.
Follow the guide on the left on this page.
