Anyone bought and recieved an imac since leopard released-what disks U get?
I chatted with a Apple rep whio said that Tigewr will be installed on the iMac but the disks you get will be Leopard, so once installed you will no longer ever see Tiger
Was wondering if anyone biught an iMac form a APple shop or online and got it can expalin exactly what they got please

If it shipped with Tiger pre-installed on the hard drive, it will have Tiger install disks inside the factory-sealed carton. You should also get a "Drop In" disk with the Leopard upgrade:

I wouldn't be surprised if store.apple.com is already shipping Leopard on the HD with Leopard install disks -- and no Tiger at all.

Mail application is still there. All of my emails and folders are gone since iCloud. How can I get them back using Snow Leopard? Or can I? Do I have to wait for Mountain Lion?

Click on 'Mail' in the upper left corner next to the Apple ()
Click Preferences
Click the 'Accounts' tab
Make sure your iCloud account is highlighted in the column on the left.
In the account information section what does it say next to:
Incoming Mail Server?
Outgoing Mail Server?
Also, did you use MobileMe before the iCloud? -
Just bought and downloaded Mountain Lion. Attempted installation: "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer." It's the only disk I have. Help!

Just bought a 30 pin digital tv adapter. What other cords get attached to it besides the power cord to the iPad and the link between the tv and the adapter.? I have a hole for another cord.
The HDMI goes to the TV.
The USB goes to the charger. -
last night my iphone said it was overheated, and shut off. it has been over 24 hours and hasnt turned on since, not sure what i should do?
Perform a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If this doesn't help, connect the phone to the charger and leave it for about 30 minutes and see if it comes on. If not, while it is connected try the reset I described first.

I need help... Since downloading the latest snow leopard, I cant open most of my pictures in iphoto or play most of my music in Itunes.
Before you bought Snow Leopard, did you check that your machine met the specifications? Have you enough memory, ideally you need 4GB though 2GB is okay,
Have you also applied the various software update updates which include iTunes and security updates.
Check in the Apple menu, about this Mac, and if your new disk shows as being 10.6.3 this is what to do.
Once you have upgraded to Snow Leopard, if your upgrade took you to 10.6.3 you will need to apply the Combo updater. Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 and follow with a software update to pick up the most recent security and iTunes updates.

Wireless won't connect and Safari keeps crashing since Leopard

I have a couple of things that have only started happening with my macbook since I installed Leopard (the Macbook is only 7 months old) ..
Safari keeps crashing and it can't find my 'default' wireless network ...
a big part of the reason i switched to mac was because it is so stable and these 2 things are getting a little bit irritating! ..

what window programme can i get for my new imac. would like the latest windows with outlook and all the other stuff. also bought it from a friend and need to remove his name from it, but have followed all the instructions and its still there, can anyone advise please?
If you have an intel Mac, you can use BootCamp, which is part of your OS and allows you to run Windows.

It asked me whether I want it and I chose it but without knowing what I was getting into.morning coffee is a third party-addon, it doesn't ship with firefox. maybe you have installed it somewhen in the past and have forgotten about it. if you have no use for it you can uninstall it from firefox > addons.

I am trying to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard. When I insert the disk and install starts, it states "This disk is used for Time Machine backups" and Mac OSX can't be installed. Does anyone know how to correct this (since Tiger doesn't have Time Machine)?

my imessages are gone. i cant activate them now. When i go into send and recieve its only my e-mail address thats ticked and not my phone number ticked also. When i sign in with my apple ID it is ticked there. can anyone help me please.
Hi,
Go to the iPhone
GO to Settings > Messages
Is the iPhone Number ticked to be enabled (It will be greyed out and not editable but should be On)
If it is Off (Unticked remove the Apple ID)
Place the iPhone in Airplane mode for a few minutes.
Go back to Settings Messages and make sure the Message app Is Enabled overall.
Check the iPhone Number is verifying.
When Completed test by sending an iMessage to your Apple ID (Mac)
If that works add back the Apple ID to the iPhone's Settings.
Restart the Mac App and Accept the op ups that appear as to what the iPhone is using.

Couple of iPhones and an iPad -
I don't know if this is an iMac issue or a Leopard issue. I have a Belkin UPS on my Alum iMac. It was showing up in the Power preference fine. I went to add a USB hub put the UPS on the hub and now I don't see it anymore in the power preference or even in the USB chain. I took off the hub and put the USB cable from the UPS back to the same USB port and I still don't see the UPS. I know the USB port on the iMac is working fine because I plugged my printer into it and it show s up and prints fine. Anyone else have this issue with a UPS. Also I reset my PRAM and no luck. I am also not using any Belkin UPS software as it doesn't support 10.5 anyway. I was using the OS UPS options.
Thanks!!!I have 2 APC that I did not need to install the software for and it works perfect in Leopard. I also have a client that has a 1500VA Belkin that works in Leopard. I would plug it in directly to your computer then you need to restart before it will see it in the prefs.

I just bought and downloaded quicktime Pro for it's exporting capabilities. When I tried to install it on my imac it said it couldn't because QT 10 already exists on computer. When I dumped quicktime 10 in the trash and restarted computer, I still am unable to install.
You can't install that version on Snow Leopard. Look here instead:
