iDict, Apple ID bruteforcer, could crack account. But, if I reduce the number of passwords, iDict will block accounts! If a person has the access to e-mail, he/she will be able to recover his/her account. But some people haven't access to e-mail and don't know answers to questions. Account will be blocked forever !

So when one contacts support, how are they to verify that one is indeed the account holder if one does not know the answers to one's security questions, and doesn't have access to the alternate "rescue" email address on file? In fact I have a friend here who has this problem now. Here's the deal:
He lost his iPhone the other day. Tried to log in to FindMyiPhone on my phone to see if he could locate his, but his iCloud account had been blocked due to the password having been entered incorrectly too many times. Previously he had another friend set his iCloud account up for him, so this friend may have set up his security questions (to which he says he doesn't know the answers & never did), and I would assume the alternate email address. When we attempted email verification, he never received the email. Yes, we checked the spam folder. So I imagine maybe his other friend misspelled the address or something of that nature. This other friend, mind you, has since passed on. Deceased. No way to find out what he may have known.
He attempted a call to support today, which proved less than helpful. OK so he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, and isn't very proficient with using modern technology. Do we have any other alternatives to verifying that this is his account? He DOES remember what his password is or was, but I'm assuming since the account was locked that's pretty much moot. We've assumed his iPhone was kept by the person who found it, suspended service and blocked it for use on AT&T network, but if he can't access contacts, backup & other information he had stored on iCloud, replacing the lost device with another iPhone seems pointless.

Backup your music to an external source before doing this, just in case you delete the originals by accident.
iTunes will show you the duplicates. But I recommend tagging their comments or another field once selecting them to ensure you don't accidentally delete both the original and duplicate. You can always select all of them and change all their comment tags at once. Once you've done that, stop showing duplications, and then sort by the comment field. This will allow you to determine whether only the duplicates were shown in the show duplicates, or the originals. If you see any without comments, then you can go ahead and delete the duplicates.

Since an iPhone 3G cannot be updated past iOS 4.2.1...the end of the line for that model iPhone...you can't do what you want, so there's nothing to be fearful of.

He can't unless he knows your password for your Apple ID. Change that password. Be sure to enable Find My Phone. If he tries to change it he will just brick the phone.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPhone got stollen, is there any way Apple can block it so that those thieves cannot use it?

So someone has stollen my iPhone and I've been told that if I contact Apple and I give them some details about my iPhone that are within the box when I bought they should be able to block the whole phone so it's completely unfunctional ever again. It has been missing for two months, they switched it off because I cannot find it on "Find my iPhone" app, so if I can block it I would happily do so because I bought it free (no contract) and it cost me a lot of money.

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.

I am using a MacBook Pro. Bought in April 2011. Upgraded to Lion, OSX 10.7.3
I have an Apple mail account that synced with a gmail account in my Mail Program.
I then chose the CLOUD activation. I can find my mail if I go to cloud.com but I no longer get any Apple mail delivered to my Mail program on my computer. My gmail account syncs just fine. In fact, the Mail program doesn't even open any longer when I double click. I have to go to the Mail menu, select Message Viewer to even view my mail program now. The Internet connection is testing fine using the Connection Doctor. But when the Connection Doctor program just whirs for eternity and never finishes checking the accounts.
Is this a bug? Do you have to set up your mailbox again for Apple mail to get it to sync after having mail hosted on the Cloud? Or does hosting on the Cloud mean I now always have to go the hassle of logging in at the cloud site to even access my Apple mail?
Any ideas out there? I am sure there are Mac geniuses, the real ones, floating around in cyber space and would love to get some intelligent directions to solve this new issue.

I would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.

I have (sorry forgot to add that). I was switched around and finally I was told I would be put through to a supervisor but after being on hold for about 10 minutes the phone went dead, I did not lose connection so I do not know if I was hung up on or there was some technical difficulty. I called again yesterday and did in fact speak with a supervisor for Account Security but he told me he did not know why it was happening and put me through to a different number but that ended up not being any helpful either. Any clue, how i can add a mail account to apple mail app, but with separate password / pin to open it.
Years ago there was a program called mail switcher which added this functionality, but thats gone.

They would have to be logged in as separate users in order not to see your account in Mail. Whatever accounts put in Mail under your account will show up. All mail accounts usually have there own user and password. The only thing you can do is to remove the password from Keychain and take the account offline so you don't keep getting prompts for passwords each time it checks for mail.
Not a great solution.
Best way is to give the other user their own user account with their own mail and enable fast user swithcing to log between the different users if all access the computer frequently.
