Anyone can explain the implementation steps of bw on hana

In the blog of BW on HANA,
I found below description:
'Hey everyone.  Several people have asked how they can best prepare for the imminent release of BW on HANA.  It's pretty simple:
1.Upgrade to BW 7.3 SP5
2.Migrate existing RDBMS to HANA 1.0 SP33.  '
I believe in step2, we need to decide which table should be converted to column based, which should be remained as previous.
My question is:
For this important task, why there is few articls/topics on it?
Am I understanding is wrong?
Dears,
Do you have any idea or clue on this topic?

  • Anyone can explain the details about the tcode MMBE

    Dear All,
When running in the tcode MMBE, we may seen many different kind of stock status under different column, for example consgt. ordered, stck..(plnt) and so on..
My question is that i would like to understand which are the steps, order types, or movement types will impact to the stock status showing in the MMBE?
    Thank you very much.
    Regards
    CW

    Hi
    MMBE alwasy shows current stock
It shows you differnt stock type
suppose while doing MIGO my stock type is quality and qunatity 10 ,then in MMBE it will shows stock under quality stock type not unrestricted if you issue stock its will reduse stock
we cannot say its alwasy related to movement type 101 OR 201
suppose material is not stockable and consumable ,then you wont get stock in MMBE

  • I am new to oracle, plz..anybody can explain this query step by step....plz

    Select distinct(a.esal) from employee1 a where &N = (select count(distinct(b.esal)) from employee1 b where a.esal<=b.esal);
this is the query to find Nth largest & Nth smallest value from the table employee1....but, i am unable to understand how this query works ....plz..anybody can explain this query step by step with example....plz

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
The first step in understanding any code is to format it so you can easily see what is a sub-query, what the major clauses of each sub-query are, and things like that.
    For example:
    Select distinct (a.esal)
    from   employee1      a
    where  &N     = (       select  count (distinct (b.esal))
                             from      employee1      b
                    where      a.esal           <= b.esal
);The only thing I have added to the code you posted was whitespace: newlines, tabs and spaces.
Now it's easy to see that you're doing a query with a scalar sub-query in the WHERE clause.
It usually makes sense to read complicated queries from the inside out, that is, start with the deepest nested sub-query.
    In this example, that means:
    select  count (distinct (b.esal))
    from     employee1      b
where     a.esal           <= b.esalWhat does this query do? Unfortunately, it references something (b.esal) from the super-query, so you can't run it by itself, to see what it does. Let's replace that reference with some hard-coded value, just for now, and run it:
    select  count (distinct (b.esal))
    from     employee1      b
--where     a.esal           <= b.esal     -- This is the original WHERE clause
    where   a.esal           <= 1000     -- For testing only
;Experiment with this for a while, and compare it to the values in the employee1 table (or a small test table that resembles employee1). Try different numbers in place of 1000.
You'll see that the query is counting how many different salaries are lower than, or equal to, a given salary (1000 in the example above).
When you understand the sub-query, look at the original query again.
It is testing to see if exactly &N different esals are lower than or equal to the esal on each row, and displaying that esal if it is. (&N is a substitution variable. If you haven't already defined a value for it, SQL*Plus will ask you for a value when you run the query.)
In other words, it is finding the N-th lowest value of esal.

  • Explain the different steps involved in the process.

    very simple question.
When you execute a query in oracle what happens. Explain the different steps involved in the process.

Check out the documentation, explains it all:

  • I have lost my iphone and did not have Find me set up. Is there any way that Apple or anyone can track the last location of my phone before it turned off?

I have lost my Iphone last week. I know this has been a while, but I am desperate. I have talked to At&t and there is no way they could track my phone with it turned off. So I was wondering if there's any way that we can check the last location of the phone before it died? And also, if there's any way we can ping the phone in case it was stolen and was turned on? I hope to read ur responses soon. Thank you.

If you did not setup Find My Phone, I'm afraid yo're out of luck. There is no practical way to track your phone.

  • Can anyone explain the backwards step from 2.93 to 2.8?

I have a 17" 2.93 macbook pro now i see the clock speeds reach 3.06 is this just an overclocked 2.93? why did they stop making the 2.93 it seems they took a backward step back down to the 2.8? is there a reason for this...what is the difference between the new 3.06 and my 2.93 is it just clock speed and hd space? or am i missing something..... would i even notice a difference in using a 2.93 and a 3.06 when rendering video? according to apples past history i would think they would offer 2.93 as the bottom end and the 3.06 as the upgrade like they did with the 2.4 and 2.6 and 2.2 and 2.4. was the 2.93 chip just not that great i have had trouble with 2 other 2.93 mbp that i had to have replaced.
    thanks

Processor speed by Mhz doesn't really indicate how fast a machine in. The Mhz myth is as true as it ever was. What really makes a difference in the speed of the machine is software, and the speed of your hard drive, and the amount of time the machine spends processing on the hard drive versus the physical RAM. If there is parallel processing across cores in the processor, that helps for those tasks that take advantage of it. http://www.everymac.com/ is good about telling you the exact processor model used on each Mac. You can then look at Intel's specs about those processors to determine how many cores, bus speed, the machine uses. The website:
    http://www.barefeats.com/
is a good benchmark website, but note that benchmarks may vary according to configuration, quality of RAM, access times on the hard drive, access to optical drive, energy saver power settings, etc...

  • Who can explain the account determination in SD...

    Hi,
    For example:
1)How account setting involved in SD?
2)Why we need set account in SD?
3)Normally used account config in SD process???
4)How FI and SD intergrated for those terms like sales revenue, cash discount, sales discount, sales return..??
5)Would be very better if anyone could attach an detail document on FI-SD with SAP screenshot steps....
I am really confused with FI terms...
    Thank you very much!!!

    Dear Hoo Laa
1)How account setting involved in SD?
It is based on G/L Accounts.  For each G/L account, the chart of accounts contains the account number, account name, and the information that controls how an account functions and how a G/L account is created in a company code.
Charts of accounts can have three different functions in the system:
    - Operating chart of accounts
The operating chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that you use for posting in your company code during daily activities. Financial Accounting and Controlling both use this chart of accounts.
You have to assign an operating chart of accounts to a company code.
    - Group chart of accounts
The group chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that are used by the entire corporate group. This allows the company to provide reports for the entire corporate group.
The assigning of an corporate group chart of accounts to a company code is optional.
    - Country-specific chart of accounts
The country-specific chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts needed to meet the country's legal requirements. This allows you to provide statements for the country's legal requirements.
The assigning of an country-specific chart of accounts to a company code is optional.
2)Why we need set account in SD?
Bcoz only marketing people will only decide how to post in FI that particular invoice.  That is whether it is normal sales, sample sales, scrap sales etc.,  Depending upon that they (SD) people will maintain respective document types and pricing procedure.  In almost all companies, since invoice would be generated by marketing people, in pricing procedure, we need to define which condition types should pass on to FI; which should not
    3)  Sorry not able to understand exactly your question
    4)  How FI and SD intergrated for those terms like sales revenue, cash discount, sales discount, sales return..??
It is based on the Account Keys and Tax Codes which FI people will maintain and SD will assign these Account Keys in their Pricing Procedure.  Based on this, determination of Accounts will happen
    5) Would be very better if anyone could attach an detail document on FI-SD with SAP screenshot steps....
Sorry not possible to attach screen shots in this forum.
    thanks

  • I need to have your help movung my bookkmarks. Can you call me so I can explain the problem?

I have paid " OBOWL " to clean -up my computer and reset it,but they could not restore my old bookmarks list like I had before. I told them in the past that I would go to a restore point to get them, but as I suspected, they told me this would mess up all the work that they had done. They said these files were from Firefox and I would have to see if you could help me. Please give me a call at xxx-xxx-xxxx. Wayne Overby I would like to know if you are receiving this message.

Firefox keep everything in firefox profile, if you didn't delete that folder, you can able to restore your bookmarks, password etc.

  • Anyone can explain com.evermind.server.jms.JMSObject$ActivationRecord

    Hi,
Recently i did heap dump on my application oc4j and find out lots of com.evermind.server.jms.JMSObject$ActivationRecord are created and causing the JVM restarted (because FULL GC was taken too much time and opmn ping timeout).
My application is an ADF JSF/Toplink application. I have configured Toplink cache synchronization between different servers (using session customizer class).
It also has several MDB which integrated with some BPEL Processes (Using JMS Adapter).
Platform Solaris Sparc 5.10, Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3 SOA Suite.
Why and What process creates this object? i know it's part of oc4j-internal.jar.
    Appreciate any helps.
    Regards,
    Ricky

These objects are created on the server when the oc4j.jms.debug property is true. They are used to track DMS phases that have been started but not yet completed. DMS phases are started (and these objects created) when operations on various OC4J JMS server-side objects (representing JMS connections, sessions, producers, consumers, browsers) are started, and are (supposed to be) ended (and these objects released) when those operations complete. Specifically, allocation is done via JMSObject.lock and release is via JMSObject.unlock. It's possible that you are hitting some case where one of these operations is calling lock() and then failing to call unlock(). Note that, despite the name, in most cases the lock() method doesn't check that the given JMS object isn't already locked, so multiple calls to lock() without an unlock() will typically not generate any kind of error or warning (but will produce a memory leak).
At least for debugging purposes, a modified JMSObject.class file could be used which had a member variable isLocked, set isLocked in lock(), cleared it in unlock(), and verified it is clear before setting it (throwing/logging otherwise). If you are unable (or are legally prevented) from doing such a temporary modification yourself, you should suggest that support provide you with such a modified class file as it will likely be the fastest way to find the root cause. (Note that it would not necessarily flag an error on the faulty operation, but rather on the next attempted operation on the given object or one of its "children", so you would need to backtrack to figure out what the last operation was. "children" is defined as "session is child of connection" and "consumer/producer/browser" are child of session" -- locking/unlocking a child also locks/unlocks the parent.)
As a workaround, you might try just not using oc4j.jms.debug.
