Anyone else had problems with range on Home Hub 2?

I've just received a Home Hub 2.0 today in order to connect BT Vision and was excited to connect it and get my Vision box set up. Having had a Voyager 2091 router before, I disconnected this and proceeded to follow the instructions to the letter to set up the Home Hub. After an hour of failed attempts to connect wirelessly to my laptop, I eventually managed to connect and moved downstairs to my usual location in order to finish preparations to set up everything needed. Looking at a cross-section of our house, it looks like a square divided into four quarters, with the room in which the router is located (the spare room) in the upper left and the room I normally work in (the living room) in the lower right.
I usually sit quite close to the wall of the living room closest to the spare room and the router has always been located near the doorway of the spare room, allowing the least amount of distance between my laptop and the router. When setting up the Home Hub, I made sure that everything was in the same locations as usual. However, on moving downstairs, by the time I was halfway downstairs, I had lost the connection to the Hub, and by the time I had reached my usual spot, it couldn't even find the Hub when I tried to reconnect. Bearing in mind that I have always had (and indeed currently have at the moment, from the same spot as I just mentioned) an 'excellent' connection to the net using my router, I can only assume the problem is with the broadcasting range of the Hub. Has anyone else had the same problem, and if so, can you recommend how I can rectify it? I've tried all the directions I can find but to no avail.

HomeHubs are notoriously variable in their performance.  Some of this may be due to the antennae, which in some models are stuck to the case with double-sided sticky-tape, falling off and not being in the correct orientation to give the best range.
I looked at this in some detail last year here.  Most HomeHub 1.0s and 1.5s  I looked at then had very poor range when compared to other wireless G routers.
Since then, HomeHub 2.0As have become a little more common and they show similar variation to the earlier models and some have an even shorter range.  If you get a good one, the range isn't bad.  If you are unlucky enough to have, or get, a bad one - complain.

    Hi!  I know this forum can't really help me resolve my key code problem but I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with their key codes issued by SAP Marketplace since Business Objects switched over to SAP's system? 
    I purchased 10 concurrent licenses, when I requested my key code through SAP Marketplace the product description said 10 concurrent  but when I recevied my code and entered it Crystal Reports Server XI, it told me I only have 1 concurrent license. 
    I feel like I'm caught in a loop in their support system.  I've tried the Business Objects support email and after several emails back and forth, they told me I had go through SAP support.  I tried the phone number they gave me and it didn't work.  Since then I submitted a support incident through SAP Service Channel, I thought someone was helping me because they requested more information but I haven't heard back from them in a couple of days. 
    Has anyone else had problems, if so, how did you resolve them?

    I had exactly the same problem.
    Currently I have BO XI Edge 2 SP3 installed.
    After a test upgrade to BO XI Edge 3.0, I applied teh newly issued licence key(5 cals.
    Unfortunately only 1 was registered.
    It was impossible to logon to the system.
    I have lodged a case with BOSAPASIA. Below is theyr reply!!!!

  • New iMac user.  My mouse doesn't seem to work properly on websites.  I just want to be able to click and have it do whatever I've clicked on automatically, for example "print" or "open link".  Has anyone else had problems with their mouse?

    Has anyone else had problems getting used to their mouse and how the clicks work or don't work on the internet?  I click and it doesn't automatically do what I click on.  So frustrating!

    This is most likely just a settings issue with your mouse that you are able to change through the System Preferences. I have an article for you that can help you set this back to default, and that article can be found right here:

    Specifically, you will want to pay close attention to this section of that article:
    Customize your mouse
    The Mouse preferences pane looks different depending on what kind of mouse you use. These settings let you set the sensitivity of the mouse to control how fast the pointer moves across your screen when you move your mouse, and adjust for your double-click reflexes. Other controls may be available, depending on the type of mouse you're using.
    Open System Preferences.
    Choose View > Mouse, or simply click Mouse.
    To control how fast the pointer (cursor) moves across your screen when you move the mouse, click Point & Click and use the Tracking slider to adjust speed.
    If Double-Click Speed appears, you can use the Double-Click slider to adjust speed.
    If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can use the Scrolling slider to adjust speed.
    To change gesture settings, click the More Gestures tab. You can enable and disable gestures for swipe and Mission Control.
    Judging by your post, I believe your secondary click setting is set to use the left side of the mouse. The default set up for a former Windows user to be most comfortable would be having the secondary click set to the right side of the mouse, as is shown in the picture I have inserted above. Note that these settings will be explained by the little video on the right hand side of this window as you hover over the description of the action on the left hand side.

    i have downlloaded numerous ringtones from iTunes and then they disappear within hours.
    I Have sunk my phone into iTunes library on my desktop and it still allows them to vanish. I have the iPhone 6 and I have reported numerous problems and they re download but then disappear again. I went to Apple store and they see my phone is having a software issue but said to call apple for a refund, to rebuy my purchases. Is anyone else having problems ?

I've downloaded the 'No Surprises' ringtone by Radiohead three times and every time I get charged for the ringtone by iTunes and every time it disappears after a while. This is really strange... I haven't talked to anyone at Apple about this, but I checked these forums out just now and, it seems, I'm not the only one with this problem.
    I'm using my brand new iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.1.1 and I'm thinking it's a software-related problem too...

    Hi, I installed the previous version of the nForce unified drivers (2.03) and I have had problems with the latest version of the unified drivers also (2.41). These both have ethernet drivers "3.13 (WHQL) + TOT .NVU"
    They seem to be the ethernet drivers fault. If I install one of the latest versions of the unified drivers, windows does not boot up, it just hangs at windows logo. ?(
    If I remove the ethernet cards drivers using safe Mode, the system will boot up fine. I also have to re-install older versions of the ethernet drivers to get the system to boot.
    I am using the K7N2 motherboard with onboard ethernet.

    I installed the latest iMovie, iWeb, iDVD, QT, and Security update this morning. I restarted and opened an iMovie project and it crashed three times within about 10 minutes. All I was doing was editing some audio clips on the timeline, I wasn't even rendering anything.
    Just wondered if anyone else has had any problems since the update?

    I had a similar problem. After i extracted the audio track from a clip (so i can edit it down for a drop zone in iDVD) iMovie aborted and i couldn't get it to run correctly with that video again. Each time i tried to open it, iMovie would hang with the startup dialog saying there was less than a minute left to load the video.
    I trashed the video and pulled up my backup from my outboard drive (tedious; >.5hr over USB 2), i'm going to try again.
    I have QT Pro also (i upgraded for the file conversion features, mostly).
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Both of you have registered the same email address for iMessage. If you were using a shared Apple ID and you updated your phones to iOS5, the default will be the Apple ID. Go into settings and change it.

Yesterday I purchased a ipod touch and  used the setup process to enter my details etc. After this I went on my Mac Pro to sync connected my new ipod to it to sync them and copy my music from itunes to the ipod touch.  All seemed ok. I then checked my email on my mac pro and received an email with the following message:

    I clicked the link to verify that this was my email address and was presented with a web page containing a box with my ID in it and below that a blank box that I inserted my password in. I clicked a button marked Verify and after a few seconds it said I had either inserted the wrong ID or Password I tried three times to get it to accept my ID and password (which I know were correct since i have had them since 2007) and then had to make a choice to change my password or ID. Naturally I chose the password option and was given the choice to either have them send me an email or enter details. I chose to enter my details and was asked for my date of birth i.e the month and the year. I entered ithem and was then informed that this was not what they held on record for me. I then started again  triying the email notification option but did not receive an email to tell me what to do. Finally I had to change my ID to access my accounts (itunes, this forum).  I wondering if this is because i have set up my new ipod or something more sinister.  Anyone any ideas!

    My three year old iMac G5 just suddenly refused to power up and my engineer said that the board had gone completely and that it was uneconomic to repair.
    He said he knew as soon as I told him the problem that it would be a 1.8ghz machine because he has had so many others go the same way.

    I am in the same boat as you are. My imac will be 3 years old in Nov. We did not purchase the extended warranty. Last week it started "failing to launch" documents, iphoto, quicken, etc. We made an appt. at the genius bar for tonight. By midweek, it would not even come on. It would make a loud humming sound (like a hairdryer and just spin on a gray screen. Nothing.
    Tonight I was told by a "genius" that we will need to purchase a new logic board for over 900 dollars. He went on to say that we may as well purchase a new computer. I am in shock. There have been little issues all along, but I never expected this. It just never seemed to run right since day 1. Now I wish we would have investigated.
    I'm not sure what to do. We are thinking about turning away from mac. This was our first one and we were talked into buying it by very satisfied mac user friends. I'm so dissappointed.
    Our g5 does not fit into the first generation category. I already checked that. Any advice for this sad mac owner? Do you think my HD is in tact? He said that can be transferred to a new computer, but I'm so nervous. HELP!

    I bought a Canon Pixma yesterday, and I have had problems setting the printer up as one I don't have a cd drive- so I had to download the software- and two my laptop does't seem to recognise the printer wirelessly. I contacted apple to see if it was a software issue, they helped by getting a couple of things up- then I followed the guide from canon on how to install the printer and and connect to WPS but it just doesn't seem to like my mac.
