Anyone else having a problem like this with the order...

Like the rest of the world, I got up extra early to order our 2 new Iphones. I got a confirmation number but have yet to receive any email about the order. I have called Verizon a hundred times and they do not see my order. Everyone tells me "oh you have a confirmation number so you will be fine". I check endlessly the status of my order but it doesn't show anything there at all. The last girl I talked to said oh well your order may not have gone thru but we don't know. If you don't get a notification by the 9th then go online and pre-order again. I really do not want to be charged 2x $400 and get 4 phones. Anyone else out there having this problem?

Well just to update in case anyone wanted to know. Finally got someone at Verizon who said that the order did not go thru. I place another order on 2/9 at 3am and everything is going good now. They said the system went down on the 3rd for a short period of time.

I called to enroll in a verizon discount plan offered by my wife's employer, as we were finishing that up online, we were no longer able to make calls. We are able to text, however.   Has anyone else had a problem like this?

One of our phones received 240 voice mails from Verizon! I called support and they opened a ticket, the support guy was helpful and tried a bunch of stuff, but he couldn't figure it out and opened the ticket, etc., and told me it would probably be fixed in a couple of hours and that I'd hear from them.   That was last night.   I called this morning and another rep told me that I probably wouldn't hear anything until Monday.
The guy last night said they things went well during the storms on the East Coast for the network, but that there is something that is causing problems "rolling westward" since then.   I am in western Colorado.   Anyone else having any trouble?

We were told by the rep that we had to do two different orders so we did them one at a time with him on the phone walking us through it. I'm not sure what numbers are the actual order numbers because it seems the order number on the one phone I did recieve was different from the number in the email. The "order numbers" on the two emails were (removed) and I think were stated as "online order number". The whole thing was just so dissapointing. Spending all that time on the phone and my pc (on hold waiting for a rep, having the rep try the order, walking us through the order), my wife thinking she was finally getting a new phone that worked, etc, and finding out TWO days later?? I actually kind of felt bad for the rep I talked with yesterday because he probably gets beat on all day long if this kind of thing happens often, which from the posts, seems like it does. Of course I was less than pleasant with him struggling to understand what had happened and what could be done about it. If something can be done it would be appreciated. A CS rep can speak with me as well personally on the (951) number if they wish. Thanks.

I get jpeg and video attachments that turn into an email icon when I try to download them, anyone else have a problem like this?

On my new iPad email I have an attachment download problem that started shortly after downloading the latest iOS system. When i receive an email with a picture or video file it has a dashed line around it. When I touch it to download it to view it the icon changes to a mail message icon hen the download completes. Then when I touch it again to open it a new mail message opens up with the attachment there to be sent to someone else.

You actually brought up a good point I forgot to mention.
I tried using forward slashes and other variations in the same manner, and they all didn't work in Firefox, but worked in Chrome and I.E.
Taking the example:

I also tried:

file://///svr-1/folder1/folder2/file.jpg
file://svr-1\folder1\folder2\file.jpg
file://svr-1/folder1/folder2/file.jpg
These links didn't work embedded in an email or on a webpage. For the case of the webpage, when the mouse cursor is hovering over the links, the jump bar indicates the correct link, but when clicked, nothing happens. When the links are copied and pasted into the address bar, they work.

Anyone else having repeated wifi connectivity issues with the OSX version 10.8.5?

I just updated the software on my iMac to OS X version 10.8.5. Now I am having repeated connectivity issues with the wifi in my house. This is the only device that is having these issues. My phone, ipad and tv are not having any problems at all.
It happened immediately following the update. I was sending emails and browsing before the update without a problem.

I had a message like that last week - only it asked what browser I would be using - I just quit safari - purges caches etc - and at that time noticed I was getting RSS feeds through PUBSUB - tracking them down to the top sites view I never use - I deleted all of the top sites (most of which I don't go into so it must have been a preset) that included MSN and Google - I don't use google so that was pointless. (deleting a top site means you are blocking it from that page) Have not had the message since so it must have had something to do with top sites activity.
Just a note: Did see somewhere probably BBC tech - that Google was going to stop supporting older web browsers.

Same here. Searching iTunes Store and touching a result often results in blank screen. Hopeless isn't it. Can't select and download a film because of it. Stuff in the featured/category/chart sections selects ok, it's just searched items for me. Surely others have noticed same with ios6. This only happens on my iPhone 4. On iPad 3 search is fine but I think it's different because iPad 3 tends to bring a kind of pop out window when selecting.

In fact, I find that if I cannot connect via Verizon, I can pick up my original iPad and connect right away ! Anyone else having this problem?

The latest flash player release is 11,0,1,152.
Can you upgrade to this version and see whether the crash stil exists?
Go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download and install flash player.

is anyone else having major problems with Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard?
- address bar and search box are not resizing with browser window. the address bar and seach box set their size to the window when Safari is launched and remain that size.
- anytime i try to customize toolbar items disappear and i have to restart Safari to get them to appear.
- some 3rd party icons just remove themselves from the toolbar after a period of time
- when i drag a page from the tab bar to create it's own browser window the window disappears but is listed in the windows menu bar. when i select that window from the menu bar the window appears but i can't click on anything.
I've repaired permissions numerous times, reinstalled safari numerous times and restarted my machine numerous times and the issues all remain. i've never had any issues with Safari until now and 5.1 is looking like a huge mess.
besides the bugs above, has anyone had any luck with 1password working with Safari 5.1?

ok, i narrowed most of my issues down to Web Snapper and Videobox by TastyApps. Removed both of those and now everything works better.
I went out to lunch and came back an hour later and magically ALL of my previous toolbar icons that were added to my previous version of Safari appeared. Very strange.
as for 1password, it wasn't working at all before when i posted. everytime i tried installing the extension via the app my, Safari would open a window and hang (never load). I just tried it again and it seems to now be working.

Anyone else having WiFi problems with the IPod Touch 5th Generation?

I upgraded my old IPod Touch 3rd Generation to a 5th Generation yesterday. I've noticed however that for some reason the wi-fi connection on the 5th Generation drops off all of a sudden for no reason at all and I can't figure out why. Anyone else having similar problems? If so what did you do?

Does the iPod connect OK to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect OK?
Did the iPod connect before?
If only your network then it could be a problem with your network
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Hi I am also in the UK, but not with Tiscali and am having the exact same problems. I can also send with wifi, but not 3G. I have tried amending all sorts of settings, including those above and amending the smtp server to the settings for my provider, but all to no avail.
It is thoroughly frustrating, as I cannot send emails unless I have wifi access.
Any further suggestions would be very welcome.

Discovered I could get email on my iPad, so re-entered my iCloud email password on my mac and that solved the problem. Still a mystery as to why all of a sudden I needed to do this, but as long as it works aint complaining.
