Anyone ever have this happen?

So my iTunes library is on an external hard drive and I thought my iPod was not importing the artwork for my songs, even though it was visible in iTunes. Anyhow, it turns out that the first 2-3 songs in every one of my album folders did not have the artwork on the files themselves (like when you look at the icons, it looked like a generic iTunes file) but the others did. if I did apple-I in the main window though, all the tracks showed the artwork
any idea how my files may have gotten messed up? The iPod IS importing the art, but obviously only for the songs that have it on the actual file. ALL of the files had art before, but now the first 2-3 songs on EVERY album has it missing.

I noticed the problem started happening when I accidentally plugged in my iPod without having the external hard drive turned on (I have a stereo system in my room and don't use my computer to listen to music, so the only time I go into iTunes is to load the iPod.
Could that have caused those files to get messed up?
I notice if you remove the album artwork folder iTunes creates a new one. Maybe that folder got corrupted somehow?

I also forgot to note that this problem also persists with the new iBooks application. I cannot get past the 'Get Started' screen or access the iBooks Store. Again, all top bar menus are unresponsive.

This is happening to me too. Couldn't figure out what was happening at first then I got a phone call and the ring came through the appletv. Playback was stopping when I would open a game or something else as well.
I'm on a 5s with ios 8 and have an appletv 3rd Gen(it is updated too). II often airplay movies from my NAS through my iPad min and that stops when something happens on my phone even though airplay on my phone is off.

I disconnected my IMac (Intel) when I was away when I reconnected it after the powering up tone I had a grey screen followed by 3 loud beeps and the beeps continued. First step would be to remove and reset firmly the RAM modules and give it another try. If that fails, remove the new RAM modules and replace with the original Apple modules that came with the Mac.
The more reliable sources for Mac RAM modules are Crucial.com and otherworldcompution.com. Both are very reliable and will guarantee your satisfaction.
Check to see where your son got the modules. Also check the modules carefully to make sure they match the specifications for your iMac exactly.

Songs show up in my iTunes Library that I have not purchased - anyone else have this happen?

So I was just organizing my iTunes library and am finding songs that I have not purchased, have not interest in and are coming via the cloud.
Is anyone else seeing this? When I try to delete, it will only allow me to hide them... ***?!

Is your cloud account shared with anyone else? Maybe they're adding them.

Ever Have This Happen?

I have (had) raid 0 set up on both controllers. I was running 3dmark 2001 at an oc of 220 x 10 which I had done before. Suddenly the screen flashed like a video card oc and when it come back I was still on via. I then went to bios to do some changing and when I booted back up it booted to promise. I have os on both. It had blowin the raid 0 and now just shows 2 hds.
I guess there right that you should use promise if your going to overclock. I didn't think 10% was going to be that hard on it.

When I put my phone on to charge, the batter quickly went to 1%. Down from 30%. When I pulled the phone off the charger to take a look at it, it died. Now it will not start. Anyone else have this happen to them? Any fix it, tips?

When I went to put my iPhone 4s on the charger it had 30% power. It quickly drained to 1% when hooked up to the charger. I took it off the charger to see what was going on and it quickly died. Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, how did you rectify?

You can try to restart the iPhone to exit recovery mode.

Recovery mode erases your device and restores it, which should resolve the issue. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you may be able to restore from your backup after recovery.

IBooks Author changed placed video size on it's own. Anyone else have this happen?

I'm creating a rather large ebook with iBooks Author (2.1.1) on Mac OS 10.9.2 (mavericks) . Currently over 350 pages typset. Was final proofing and ran into a font conflict over the weekend (Palatino was substituting), which miraculously resolved itself when I ran typical Mac diagnostics (so maybe a font got corrupted or something). So I was celebrating my victory when I noticed that randomly, a number of placed videos had changed size
I noticed because I purposefully set all video preview images at 285x214. I've found at least six that changed to 200 x 150 (which possibly is the default when you create a new video).
I just find it curious that this would happen for the first time, after I've been working on this book since last November (so about 6 months)
I did upgrade to Mavericks April 15th. But I was working on the book last Saturday and these issues did not show up. Took Sunday off. Then mid-day Monday, I started noticing the font issue. Then this morning noticed the resized videos.

Of course, the change in size made the text reflow throughout the chapter. So now I'm going back page by page from the beginning to see if this annomoly only happened in this chapter or throughout the book. It didn't affect every placed video — only some.

Is there a way for you to disable the firewall and your anti-virus software? That should help.

I had this same problem, but it seems to have disappeared after I discovered that Bluetooth was on and turned it off (General menu in the Settings app).

I've been trying to sync all day, it's never done this, Receive either I phone could not be found on the network or Secure link 1150 failed. Have not changed ANYTHING on my computer. I recently have been bombarded with phone calls from AT&T asking for a person whom I don't know. Turns out this person has my exact same phone number, but is using AT&T as the provider. How can this be? I had my number changed a few months ago, so maybe this number was someone else's. So what do I do? Change my number AGAIN? Or maybe the other person should change theirs.....

Typically a phone number is "aged" before it is assigned to a customer. This avoids customers from getting calls for previous customers.
Also no two customers, irrespective of the provider, can have the same telephone number at the same time. You and the other person can't have the same number active at the same time. If calls to the number end up ringing in your home/business, then it is your number.
I think you have a couple of options...
1- Live with it and inform the company calling that the person is no longer at the number.
2- Change your number and explain the reason for the change is due to unwanted calls.
3- If the calls are coming from one number, you may be able to have the number blocked so the calls do not get to you.

Anyone ever have this weird screen on startup?

Sometimes on startup it stays on the grey startup screen forever and I have to restart. Sometimes it starts up, the Finder starts then it just hangs. No message, no mouse movement, nothing. So that needs a restart too. Then very occasionally I get this screen on startup....
It will startup eventually but it's getting a little tiresome!
Any info would be great!

Well it has booted up fine and I ran work backups fine. Then launched my music software and one of my pcie cards that I use for musc was not there. Shutdown, reseated card and it seems to be there now.
Like I said, it will work fine for hours then suddenly just hang. Or it won't startup the first 2 times then it starts up and is fine for 3 days.

My screen suddenly went out, yet the computer is still running. It would turn on but the screen would not light up at all. A service guy plugged it into an external monitor and now the screen appears to be working fine. Anyone else have this happen?

If your computer is a 2011, you can stop the blue screen by turning off graphic card switching. Under apple, system preferences, energy, uncheck box. Temporary fix. Your logic board may need to be replaced if you are under warranty or have apple care otherwise $1000.00. May be software or firmware problem but apple has provided no info. Replacing logic board has corrected problem for some users and not others. Everything I've mentioned only applies to 2011 MBPs.

Has anyone ever seen this happen to a macbook pro screen before?

I'm going to try and include a pic of this . Suddenly, It seems like the bulb that lights the apple logo on the top of the case has burned through the lcd display, resulting in what looks like a freshly lit kitchen match right in the middle of my screen. This macbook is only 4 months old and will be going back to apple for a screen replacement. Welcome to the Apple community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
