Anyone experienced dust issues yet on the newest 27'' 2013 Imac (display) ?

Hello,
I just ordered the newest Imac 27'' from the store and was very happy and excited at first but it slowly faded as i read on about the display issues which seemed quite common on the previous imacs (dust inside the imac, panel removal etc.) and now i'm torn between sending it straight back or keeping it.
I bought this imac with the intention to last at least 4-5 years but after reading through all the messages i'm not sure about the quality of this apple product anymore - sadly.
I also have to say that i am still an university student who can't afford switching panels all the time (no apple care) when i know it only helps out temporarly and the main problem probably lies somewhere deep inside the imac.
So any information or experience regarding the dust development within new imacs would be helpful thank you !

You should keep in mind that these are technical support forums. Generally, the only people posting here are those with problems. The thousands/millions without problems don't ever come here. Think of this place as an emergency room/hospital for comps. If you want to a review of your model iMac, do a Google search for news articles rather than a "technical support" message board. Read all the reviews you find.
Since you are a student, you are entitled for a student discount on AC. You were also entitled to one on your new iMac too. Did you get it?

Anyone experiencing wifi issues after installing the new software version 4.3.3?

It connects shows full strengh wifi connection but when i try and use the internet it comes up no internet connection. Wifi tested on all other devices perfectly fine. I have done a restore but still facing this issue? Is it an error in the new update or should i send it away for a warranty repair?

There is no new WiFi problem in 4.3.3 that I am aware of. Try your iPhone on some other WiFi networks to see if it has developed a problem.

Has anyone experienced an issue after visiting the Orbitz web site? After I went there, everything in my popular task bar would open ten Orbitz tabs.

Ten Orbitz tabs would open. I cleared cookies and history several times before it went away. I'm using a Mac with Firefox.

In my browser there is a tab marked popular. It has several popular sites like ebay, monster, facebook... It is ten tabs across from most visited. However, I never tried most visited when this occurred.

Has anyone experienced photos disappearing after editing the date? Lion, Imac, Iphoto '09.

I am beginning the daunting process of sorting through all of my photos to make sure the date is correct. I made a change on a couple of photos, they then disappeared, presumably to the correct date. However, when scrolling to the spot it should have been relocated to, it is not there. The missing photos are not critical to recover, but I want to make sure I have this resolved before continuing further. Thanks!

I do not understand - How did you change the date?
If you are doing it correctly using only iPhoto then the photo will not change it location in the event it was in

I have been getting the same issue for about a week now. However if I create a new Adobe ID with another email address, that email doesn't have the issue. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I have tried clearing cookies and using multiple browsers and nothing seems to work.

Anyone experienced an issue with 'insufficient privileges' notification in the current iTunes when trying to download from the store or import a CD?

Since changing iTunes to the current version, I've experienced an issue when trying to either download from the store or import a CD.
I keep getting a pop-up message that says I have insufficient privileges to perform the action.
A bit weird as I'm the admin for the iMac.
Anyone else seen this and know a fix?

I've also come to the conclusion that this is a router problem, as I don't have this issue at all when I'm at work.
It's a old router, and we've had problems with other devices not wanting to connect to it in the past.
I'm sure theres some way to solve this issue, but I think, rather then sittin gon hold, to figure this issue out, and my router having issues prior to this, I'm just going to pick up a new router at this point.
I hope any of this has helped someone get their issue, at least temporarily solved.

If so, call them.
I had mine replaced last year. There are several reasons why a computer does not boot, so it is difficult to say if the hard drive was the cause. You can take yours to an Apple store and ask to have diagnostic tests run. Youc an also boot up from your backup and run Disk Utility > Verify disk on your internal to see if any errors pop up.

I just bought a new late 2013 iMac. Can I get the new iWork for free? I updated it to Mavericks also. The Mac App store is showing $19.99 for each iWork component (Pages, Numbers, Keynote). I also bought the previous iWork version, if that matters. Free updates for iPhoto and iMovie seemed to show up with no problems. Maybe these are just glitches that will clear up in a couple of days?

Hi. If you want it to get updated, this should take care of it.
1. Uninstall iWork from your Mac.
2. Do a fresh install of iWork from DVD.
3. Install iWork update from Apple Downloads (direct link here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563)
4. Sign into the Mac App Store, and check for updates. It should now show up as a free update. You may have to give it a few minutes (i.e. 10-15 minutes).
I've been a Windows user for years, so I know all of the tricks by now. I had hoped I would not need this knowledge for a Mac, but oh well...

Why does my iPad keeps connecting and disconnecting from the new late 2013 iMac

I've recently bought a new late 2013 iMac and ever since then I'm not able to connect my iPad 2 to it. When I do connect it keeps connecting and disconnecting again and again for some reason. The cable is fine and I've tried it with other devices. Just wondered why this is and whether you guys can help me out.

I had the same problem and just found a solution. I tryed restoring all content and settings on the iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). It took lots of time, however it didn´t work because when I connected the iPad and iMac the problem persisted.
Then I thought it wasn´t an iPad problem but iMac OSX problem. So I searched the web for "Reinstall Mavericks" and found this http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13871?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.
It also takes like 6 hours with my internet speed. Next day I connected the iPad and everything is just fine.
I described both processes because I don´t know if in the end the iPad reset helped in the solution.

hey everyone,
i'm a newbie to this kind of stuff but just curious if anyone has experienced any kind of lag when typing since the mountain lion update. I find then whenever i'm typing it doesn't show up and as soon as i start deleting my sentence it will appear again.
also, when scrolling over a highlighted word, your typical menu box will drop down. As soon as it drops down it leaves a big white blank where it was and cuts out everything that was in its path.
please let me know if this is something that can be fixed or if apple's working on something to amend the issue. thanks everyone!

Is anyone experiencing an issue with iOS 8.0.2 where you don't receive photos sent from someone on iOS 7.1.2?

I'm using an iPhone 6 on iOS 8.0.2. My brother is using an iPhone 5S on iOS 7.1.2.
He just tried to send me some photos with iMessage & they didn't make it to my iPhone 6.
However, they did make it thru to my iPad, which is still on 7.1.2.
I just tried to forward the pics from my iPad to my iPhone 6 & they won't show up on the iPhone 6.
update: The pics finally showed up on the iP6, about 45 minutes after they appeared on the iPad. Both the iP6 & the iPad are on the same WiFi network. The pics appear
So I guess the issue is whether anyone else is experiencing a significant delay when receiving iMessage pics in iOS 8 when sent from an iOS 7 device.
