hi - i have recently upgraded to an iphone and find that when i open my MS Outlook on my computer, the emails that were on the iphone get wiped out. Has anyone got a solution to this problem? I'm sure it's very simple when you know the answer! Thanks.
Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Solution below.
Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software. -
i can not open email attachment which is sent from a swann dvr using apple mail since i upgraded to Yosemite ,has anyone got a fix ? the file format is _mnt_tmp_

my photoshop crashes when i double click, it says that it has stopped working and that i should check online for a resolution, anyone got anything to help me
i found out my prob!
here is what you do.
go to the "system preferences" on your dock.
click "software updates".
click "installed software"
if it shows something about a recent update about "EFI UPDATE, FIRMWARE, THUNDERBOLT" or anything like that, exit out of it.
go to mail.
click "mail" at the top.
click "preferences...".
find the account you are having trouble with, once you do, make sure its highlighted, then click the "-" at the bottom of the window (this will only effect that mail account, it will not effect your ical weather or not its synced thought that email account)
hit the "+" (right next to the "-") and add your accout back!
its something with that update that effected mail, i hope this works out for you, if not reply back -

Vision:m colours anyone got anything other than blac
Hi,
Been searching the forum I can find lots of info about the black and white Vision:m has anyone got a different colour?
Are they even released yet?
I would like to buy a vision:m but am holding off buying on the internet because I would like to see the colours first. PLUS they are very hard to locate!!!
Quite like the look of the <FONT color=#6666ff>blue one or black one but UK seems to be behind the rest of the world!!
ANY OPINIONS on the different colours? I heard the black one needs cleaning lots+ scratches fairly easily.Hi,
I got an email from creative europe today:
For the moment in Europe we just sale the Vision M in Black. We mightreceive the white version in the coming weeks. The rest of the colorsshould be available in the next coming months, but I do not know whenexactly.
So, the long and the short of it is it looks to just be black and white over here for the minute!
I got mine a few days ago from eBuyer.co.uk for ?250 + deli'very, its black but I like that!
Fingerprints do show up on the buttons under a bright light, but the pouch is made of a good material for removing the prints! On the whole, doesnt notice that much but it depends how much of a perfectionist you are!
must say, I think the screen is really amazing! superb brightness and quality, yum.
My only annoyance is the dock connector, I hope a charger and USB lead will come out soon that'll plug straight into the unit... I thought i could keep the USB lead at home for charging and syncing, and the AC charger for work, but as you only get dock connector, its not really a practicle solution... boo!
eBuyer still have 7 (quickfind code is 098), they had 5 yesterday so I guess they are getting returns or new stock...

When we rolled out ReaderX and AcrobatX we uncheck the Diaply PDF in Browser window. OK with IE, but ignored in FireFox (3.6.16). We can live with that except the PDFs have links to other URLs and clicking on them is ignored. Same PDF opened outside the browser the links work fine. FireFox with Reader 9.4.0 no problem. Reader X with IE no problem. I can fix the Display in Browser with a change to firefox.js, but have not figured out how to fix the links when the PDF is displayed within the browser.
My replies are in Bold.
Thank you for your response and message.
1. Are you seeing this problem with all kinds of PDF's or some specific kinds like secure PDF's (with doc open password or printing restrcitions), reader extended PDF's or PDF forms.
This problem is with all kind's of PDF's.
2. Are you opening a locally saved PDF by doing a drag drop in the browser or right click and open with IE/FF or directly opening a PDF hosted on the internet?
It doesn't matter. However I do it, I see this problem in Firefox, IE & Google Chrome.
3. Can you also check the version of the Reader X browser plugin? you could find it at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroPDF.dll. Right click -> Properties -> Details
If version is 9.0.x then you could try a clean install of Reader X.
I have checked it. It's the latest plug-in (though at the moment, I have gone back to Adobe Reader 9.4.1, as I've mentioned before, because I need the reader to be working fine for my work and daily life. I am just waiting for a fix before I try Adobe Reader X again.
As I've mentioned before, I am seeing this issue ONLY on my Windows 7 Ultimate (Laptop). In the desktop's at work, with Windows XP / Vista, I don't see it. Adobe Reader is working fine, browser integration is fine, the floating tool bar works fine, the right click menu pop' up where the right click is done...I can also save PDF' from the main toolbar at the top and so on...
I really have run out of ideas.... and I am very surprised that no expert support personnel (if at all there is one) have dropped by or said anything or mentioned anything about this.
Anyway.... Cheers. -
Having problem synching Media Go with my Xperia Arc, and SE sync
Help people. Just got my Xperia Arc and attempted at using Media go to transfer all my music files into the Arc. However, the transfer keep hanging in the middle if I transfer too many files at a go. Say 3-4 albums.
It keep popping out wit the error code 0x802a0006. Help me!!!!!!!!
On a side note, I sync all my contacts with google account. Those contacts that I imported from the google account, how do I sync it t my SE sync account?I'm sorry to hear about your problem with Media Go and Xperia arc.
I have been trying all morning to regenerate the problem you guys run into. But without any luck. I've been testing with the latest version of Media Go.
Unfortunately I'm not able to place what the error code you get points at either.
I believe that my best suggestion would be to see if you guys get the same problem if you try on another PC computer.
Regarding the SE sync, it's not possible to sync contacts in the phone that comes from Google to SE Sync. That's because they become marked as Google contacts and can't therefore not be synced to another web service.
If you would like to have your Google contacts on SE Sync as well I suggest that you export your contacts from Gmail, and then log in to SE Sync on your computer and import them under contacts.

Synching iPod Touch with iTunes latest versions messes up e-mail progams on the Touch; help
Twice now in the past week I have synched my 64GB latest model iPod Touch with the latest version of iTunes and it has completely messed up my e-mail programs on the Touch; I cannot get or send e-mails. I have to delete the e-mail accounts and then add them back in so that I can receive and send e-mails. What has caused this and how can I eliminate this from happening in the future when I sync? Thank you for your help.
carolYes, I find it strange, too but it has happened both times I have synched the Touch in the past week. iTunes was updated right before the first time this happened. I have Verizon for my e-mail and it would not work on the Touch but I was able to send and receive emails on my desk top. It is frustrating to say the least to spend time deleting and then adding the e-mail accounts to the Touch.

Problem Launching Java Applet with Plug-in: Version 1.4.2_01
Hello out there:
I recently installed j2re-1.4.2_01 on my home computer but have been unable to access Web sites emmploying JAva applets. The following is an email exchange with Jeff Hall of Lowell Observatory, manager of an educational site hosted by Lowell, trying to resolve my problem. The messages are better understood if read in reverse order.
I'm hoping that someone will recognize the source of my problem and can recommmend a solution. I would appreciate any help offered.
Thanks,
Mike Coucke
Hi Jeff:
Well, I guess the problem lies with me somewhere. Here's my answer/status to your questions/suggestions:
1) I'm using MS Windows Me version 4.90.3000
2) I do have the directory C:\Windows\.jpi_cache\jar\, but the only thing in it is an empty folder labeled "1.0". The file LP.jar does not exist anywhere on my hard drive.
3) I tried several game sites that utilized Java applets and got the same results: the Java cup in the upper left corner followed a few seconds later by the red "X". So, evidently the problem is somewhere on my end.
I'm going to post our email exchanges in a Java Users Forum managed by Sun to see if anyone out there can solve my problem. However, if you have any more suggestions, I'll be glad to try them.
Thanks for the help.

Mike,
Rats! What version of Windows are you using? It's a little strange to
see the user directory set to C:\Windows; if you're using XP, I'd expect
it to be something like C:\Documents and Settings\Mike Coucke. In any
event, the output that is of concern is these two lines:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: LPRemote.class
Caused by: java.net.UnknownHostException: proxy
It looks like your browser is not finding our server's IP when it comes
time to download the necessary Java code.
LPRemote.class is the fundamental code that runs LOPARC, and your
browser should be downloading it automatically when you click connect.
LPRemote.class is stored along with a bunch of other classes in a file
called "LP.jar" that you download from our server. So, if you go to C:
in Windows Explorer and do a file search for LP.jar, you should find it.
On my machine, it's stored in a directory called ".jpi_cache\jar\" in my
user home directory. Let me know if you have this file, or the
jpi-cache directory.
One other thing you might try is going to a different site that you know
uses Java applets -- I think some of the online game rooms at Yahoo use
Java. See if other sites that use Java load correctly. Then we'll know
if it's our server specifically, or a more general problem on your end.

Hello Jeff:
I still have the Java "blues". I followed your instructions, but am still unable to launch a LOPARC session. After an initial failure, I uninstalled all three Java versions I had (1.4.0, 1.4.1, 1.4.2), then reinstalled 1.4.2_01 from the Sun website.
Now, when I try to launch LOPARC, I initially get a blank window with the Java cup in the upper left corner. After about 20 seconds, the cup changes to a red "X". During those 20 seconds, the following appear in the IE message bar at the bottom of the window: "Applet LPRemote notinited" (their spelling) which changes to "Loading Java Applet Failed..." when the red "X" appears.
Following is a copy of the log from my Java Console during all of this:

Subject: RE: Registration with Lowell Education Online
Hi Mike,
Try it now. I think this problem has arisen because Sun just
released a new version of the Plug-in (1.4.2), and when we released the
public beta of LOPARC, only one relevant version (1.4.0) was available
and the LOPARC code was written to look for that by default. I have
just recoded the relevant routines so they should now cause your browser
to simply pick up the latest 1.4 version of the Plug-in you have
installed, whatever it is. I "broke" Java on my machine to replicate
your problem, and the code I inserted today did fix it. Hopefully it
will have the same effect for you. I am running IE 6 and plugin
1.4.2_01 (as accessed via Tools->Sun Java Console).
One broader problem: some (non-LOPARC-specific) users on the Sun
forums have reported the "JRE collision" you are seeing when multiple
versions of the Plug-in are installed on the same machine. So if the
fix I made to our code doesn't work, one option would be to uninstall
all Java components from your computer and do a fresh install of the
latest runtime environment.
Let me know how/if this works. Thanks for the feedback and for your
patience.
Best regards,
Jeff Hall

Subject: Re: Registration with Lowell Education Online
Hello Jeff:
So far, I have been unable to launch a LOPARC session. I repeatedly
get the following error message:
"Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: LPRemote.class"
My browser is MS Internet Explorer version 6.0.2800.1106 Initially I was
using Java Plug-In version 1.4.1 and received the error message. I went
to the Sun website and downloaded/installed Java Plug-In version 1.4.2
and still get the message.
Before I try to launch LOPARC, I can select Tools->Sun Java Console from
IE's pull down menu to check my Java Plug-In version. When I try to
launch LOPARC, I get the following message:
"Applet(s) in this HTML page requires a version of Java different from
the one the browser is currently using. In order to run the applet(s)
in this HTML page, a new browser session is required, press 'Yes' to
start a new browser session." If I select 'No', I get the following
message: "Java Plug-in detected JRE collission"
If I select 'Yes', a new browser window opens and then I get the first
message above.
Can you help?

September 1, 2003
Dear Michael Coucke:
Thank you for registering with Lowell Observatory's online education
site. We hope you enjoy using it and visit regularly as we continue to
expand its features and capabilities. This is a one-time welcoming
email.
For your records, your user ID is xxxxx, and your password is #########.
You'll need to supply these each time you log in.
This site gives you access to research-grade equipment including a 16"
telescope, CCD detector, and image processing software. Our online
archive of data is now available 24/7. The telescope will be opening to
our onsite users in May, and on select nights to the Internet at large
in June.
We have designed this site so you don't need a huge monitor or a
supercomputer to use it. All pages are viewable on screens running at
800x600 resolution or higher. To use LOPARC, you'll need a Java-enabled
browser with the Java 1.4 plug-in installed. If you don't have the
plug-in, you'll be prompted to download it the first time you attempt to
connect. This is an admittedly large (9 MB) but one-time-only download.
This site works correctly under Internet Explorer version 5 or higher.
If you use Netscape, you must be running version 6 or higher, and
display or applet behavior anomalies may occur.
If at any time you can't connect to our server, simply try again later.
We do experience several power outages each year, particularly during
Flagstaff's summer thunderstorm season. Our server is fully protected
and backed up, and can be quickly brought back on line, but any active
user sessions will be lost. Thanks for your patience during these
inevitable downtimes.
Your questions, comments, suggestions, and bug reports about this site
are always welcome. On behalf of the LOPARC development team, thanks
for signing up!

Flagstaff, ArizonaHi Mike,
I see this in your logs:
Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.4.2_01
Using JRE version 1.4.2_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\WINDOWS
Proxy Configuration: Manual Configuration
Proxy: http=proxy,https=proxy,ftp=proxy,gopher=proxy
Proxy Overrides:
I just helped my Dad set up his computer with a new
cable modem, and had the situation where we couldn't
access any secure Web sites. The cable folks had us
disable the proxy. It looks like the error message is
saying it can't find your proxy server, and the logs
you posted say that you've decided to configure your
proxy manually, rather than using the settings from
IE (which is how mine is set up in the plugin
control panel.)
Could that be the problem?

I have been unable to update or reinstall Itunes to my windows 7 64 bit computer. I have tried most of the suggestions to date to no avail. My outcome is a dialog box that says itunes was not installed. . . At one point, it created a situation where my CDDVD drive was disabled but a windows troubleshooter got that back working citing a "class filter driver problem" that it repaired. Also, Itunes comes up and plays from the optical drive (and the hard drive) but will not write to the CD or refresh my podcast list. Anyone?

Installed latest itunes update and computer tried to burn a playlist to CD and realized computer no longer recognizes my CD/DVD drive. After doing some data mining, found out from community this is an long standing APPLE problem- which doesn't get much tech support in terms of fixes. I have an HPPavillion DV6 64 bit, Windows 7 OS . After reading an earlier complaint from 2009 in the support community, I ran diagnostics from ITunes which gave the following result. Can someone please help? Anyone got linux running on the 790gx chipset?
I'm in the market for a new machine and am probably going to go with AMD's new 790gx chipset. Has anyone here been able to get linux up and running on this chipset? How is the support for the integrated Radeon HD3300?
Check here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=60197 , not exactly the same problem but related .... this high definition codecs ...... more of a curse than a bless. I have my own quarrel with the one in my laptop too. Best of luck trying to sort this out.
Also I don't know if you have used the builtin mic a lot (in windows) but my experience tells me that builtin mics are worthless (they pickup your voice and all the noise around, including your typing mouse clicks and maybe even the fan working), get a headset and the people on the other side of the chat will thank you . Maybe you can consider getting a usb headset, no more hassle of trying to get the HD Audio driver / codec to cooperate in making things work (do a little research first to see if it works well in linux though). -
Has anyone got a answer to the HDCP drama?
Yesterday I could watch a movie via Itunes and ATV (software ver 4.3), today I cant! That dang HDCP error message leers at me through the screen. There are MANY people with this issue, and there certainly doesn't seem to be a particular answer. What does Apple recommend? I have pluged and unpluged the entire house! I have swaped cables with everything, bar the jumper leads in the car. I got the whole street to turn the power on and off. But HDCP is still my nemesis. Seriously, whats going on!
Seems to me either Apple implement the strictest/fussiest HDMI/HDCP standard on the planet adhering to every minor stipulation when other manufacturer's don't or other manufacturers don't implement HDMI properly.
To my mind this is Apple's issue as very few other products cause such HDMI/HDCP problems for end-users.
Could it be that Apple have been forced to use some draconian HDCP features not in general usage in order to protect the media empires' massive profits?

Has anyone got a workaround for the iTunes 12 sorting movies bug?
I have movies in various playlists in my iTunes 12.0.1 library with various metadata and nice artwork added.
When selecting sort by 'Genre', 'Sort Albums by Title' or sort by 'Albums' then 'Sort by Title' (both of these sorting options to enable browsing using the artwork) the movies are not sorted by title.
They are sorted by 'director' metadata, which is not my intended outcome. It looks like iTunes is treating movies like music and sorting by artist/director.
Even adding 'sort name' doesn't fix this. Does anyone know a workaround to this?
