Anyone got Machine 1.5 to work with Logic

Hey all,
I've got Maschine loaded as an AU unit and it works in so far as I can hear sounds and play using Maschine. However, Logic doesn't record anything or remember anything about the state of Maschine, so it's not saving any midi or audio info.
Has anyone got Maschine working in the same way as the Ultrabeat drum sequencer? So I can create patterns on the Maschine, then trigger them via Maschine while I'm recording.
Failing that, has anyone got Maschine to actually record anything in Logic?

I can drag and drop patterns, but it's unclear whether Logic then plays that pattern or simply triggers Maschine to start playing.
I can't get Maschine to synchronise its midi as in the 'Record Events Directly into DAW' section. This might be because I can't set it up to both send and receive midi to/from Maschine. Any idea how this is done?

I actually mailed the .PEM file we found from Verisign to BEA support
because I also had an issue open on this with them...it would be funnyif
they then turned around and mailed it to you...

Has anyone got an iBook G3 to work with an iPhone hotspot?

hi! First question here, and its been a real headscratcher.
I have an iBook G3 with 128bits airport card (picking up and connecting to routers no problem)
I also have an iPhone 4 which I've used as a personal hotspot, providing internet to my Macbook pro for around year.
Now as you can imagine, I've discovered that although the G3 discovered my iPhone, when i enter the password and hit connect, i get a glorious error. It say it could not connect because of a problem with encryption.
After a lot of internet research, I discovered the old, original Airport card does not support WPA2 encryption, which annoyingly is the encryption my phone uses.
Ok, so options... 1 can i upgrade this card? 2 Can I download software (3rd party?) to get around this problem? 3 Can i tell my phone to use WEP encryption? 4 Can i use an external (usb?) Wifi adapter? Ive also seen the possibility of Bluetooth or USB tethering? 5 Would a Bluetooth adapter work?
Any advice or solutions/suggestions would be incredibly welcome. As i've discovered there are a lot of questions about this online but few working solutions.

Why not just use the MacBook Pro?

Anyone got an ethernet cardbus/pcmcia working with 10.5?

My ethernet port packed up but I got a DLink DFE-690TXD cardbus/pcmcia card working OK under Tiger. But after upgrading to Leopard it's now not working as noted on http://forum.insanelymac.com and on the post (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8388326&#8388326). However these sources report that some gigabit ethernet cards (RTL8169 chipset?) work under Leopard without the need for a driver.
If anyone has got one of these working then it would be very useful to hear which card you have.

The Lexmark SW you installed is really, realy old. Print Center was last seen in 10.2!! It was replaced in 10.3 with Printer Setup Utility. As you noted PSU was moved into System Preferences in 10.5. So I would not really trust Lexmark SW that is that old. Lexmark doesn;t always get things updated that quickly...but is has been a while since 10.2.
You should be able to remove the Lexmark SW (remove/Library/Printers/Lexmark). Then you can re-install the Lexmark drivers that came with Leopard from the DVD. Try those....They are Way newer what you tried.

Anyone got an HP 1022nw printer working with a Netgear DGN2000 router?

I recently changed my router In readiness for the arrival of my new MBP.
Now I can't print wirelessly on my HP printer (1022nw) from any machines on the network, irrespective of whether security (eg. WAP) is set up, or it's left open and unprotected.

But now I'm on the new MBP full-time, I wondered if anyone here has had any experience of the same combination > Netgear DGN2000 + HP 1022nw. It can't be that unusual a pairing.
None of my machines (including 2 iBooks with Tiger + 2 Macbooks with Leopard) can print wirelessly - but all of them did on the previous router - the old Netgear DG834G.
Feedback of any sort would be much appreciated - if you have any positive ideas/solutions, even better!

Has anyone got HK iSub v1. to work with Intel iMac?

System preferences does not see the device at all. Have tried different ports with and without USB hubs both through a Series 1.0 and Series 2.0 with no luck. Any suggestions? Or is it time to retire the thing? Pity though it sounds great and still looks good!

I had the same problem and got it straightened out at the local Genius Bar! Did you transfer your folders from a previous Mac on your Intel iMac? The prefs transferred over too and may be corrupt.
1) Create a new user and give it admin privledges
2) Under "Library", drag and drop the Audio (which may not be necessary) and Preference folders onto desktop.
Log out and restart.
Log back in as yourself and let it fly! By dragging the Prefs folder onto desktop, at restart your iMac rebuilds the Prefs and overwrites previous corrupted Prefs.
Now I need to figure out why my Sony CyberShot isn't recognized on my USBs! Maddening!

Business accounts should not be on a free service, unless you consider them to be worthless.

Get a Virtual Macine software program, Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, and install XP in a virtual machine.
You can't install XP in a Boot Camp Partition with Lion or Mt Lion, only Win 7.

A Verizon-model iPad can only work on CDMA with Verizon. You cannot use it with any other carrier. Apple, to my knowledge, has not released the iPad in Yemen, so there is no iPad you can use with any carrier there that works only on CDMA. You would need to find a GSM carrier and then get an unlocked GSM iPad.

I keep getting an error -1 when I try to load it in Logic pro. I tried emailing iZotope about this but never got any response. Any help would be appreciated.

Logic Pro 7.4.7
Mac OS X 10.4.7

Vinyl 1.7.3 loaded and ran fine on my system. Try removing the AU and any supporting files and receipts and re-installing Vinyl again.
And, yes, Vinyl is UB (don't know what possessed a13 to ponder otherwise).

yep,
there are lots of ways to do this in logic. straight off the top of my head (so it won't necessarrily be the best way)
set your loops up in individual exs insts
transform midi note to controller 7 with a trasnformer in environment, mapped note to midi channel.
now when you hit the right key, it will turn the note into controller message to open the volume on the exs instrument with the right midi channel.
you will need a 'master' note to turn on your loops in the exs inistruments. obviously this needs to be connected outside of the transform to midi channel.
if you need to more than 16 loops, you can put a transformer before 'notes to controller 7' to split the messages by their key range. sounds complicated but is really easy, no harder in fact than programming VCR.
you will need a master instrument to run all this from in arrange. i would have used a single channel midi instrument in environemnt new>instrument.
my method will work but there maybe a way to set everything up in an exs instance, but i not sure how you would do that so it didn't retrigger rather than open up the volume on the part of the loop you want.
my way will work though.

No, sorry. it won't work with the 2007 MBP. You can replace the optical drive yourself - just go shopping at OWC.

Has anyone figured out how to make the Yamaha 01V96i mixer work with Logic 9.1.8 as a control surface ?

In YAMAHA01v96i:
Go to DIO/SETUP select Generic DAW. Go to MIDI settings page and set the desired port (personally I use Number 1), Select the same audio frequency you use in your DAW (I use 44.1KhZ)...at this point You should save a scene in you 01V96i to avoid to repeat all the procedure again.
Open studio manager, go to patch and set the input port from 17 to 32 respectively to USB1-USB16 (this will give you the return from you DAW to the 01v96i
Save again the scene overwriting the old one.
in LOGIC
Click on preferences, select Audio then select 01v96i, then click on control surface and select Mackie design Baby HUI and in the midi session set the same port that you've been setting on the Yamaha 01V96i (Port 1 if you follow this example).
That's more or less it.
It worked for me...so far
