Anyone had a 100% successful KitKat update w/later software versions?

Look around here, there are several threads about botched updates, which appears to stall the tablet where it won't boot past the splash page. From reading the threads It seems that most of these were MV7A- version software, but some were MV7B- version ending in 422M or earlier.
My E-7 has s/w version MV7B_31D41_422X
Can anyone else with this version report and confirm a successful upgrade for 422X? There was one person who had  422Y who appears to have updated successfully, so I am cautiously optimistic, but don't want to take the chance until I know for sure that the update will work with 422X.
I have purposely kept my OTA LTE connection turned off to avoid the update until I can confirm that my s/w version updates without the previously mentioned crash issues.
Anybody? Thanks

I don't have any letters after 442. I still wouldnt call this a successful update. My tablet has new problems  daily  the biggeast problem is sd card premission  today youtube, netflix and other video sites stopped working both on wifi and 4g. Typing is a pain as words just add themselves now.  I'm going to root mine and install different OS.

    Since our preemie woke me at 04:00 this morning and I had nothing better to do--I let the ATV3 connected to our "main viewer" 'update'.
    Got a screen showing what at first bleery-eyed glance looks like a HDMI-to-iPod/iPhone/Ipad cable wanting iTunes.

    Has anyone had trouble with photo albums and viewing photos after downloading a newer version of iPhoto?

    I downloaded mountain lion and then iPhoto '11 in order to tap into iCloud capabilities with all of my devices. (My Mac was outdated in regards to operating platform to do this). After installing iPhoto 11, I had to repair and rebuild my library of photos.  However, after doing this, all of my albums were jumbled and, while I can see the image thumbnail, when I click on the thumbnail, and error that looks like a black triangle and gray exclamation pops up as opposed to the larger hi def image I want to view.

  • Error trying to update iPhone to software version 1.0.2

    I have just recently purchased an iPhone. I have no problem syncing it with iTunes. The only problem I have is every time I try to update the software version of my iPhone, it downloads the entire thing then an error message pops up as shown:
    *"There was a problem downloading the iPhone software for the iPhone "name". An unknown error occured (-48).*
    *Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."*
    I have received this error several times and no matter what I do, I can't get it to work. The phone is not hacked, I just purchased it 2 days ago. Its BRAND NEW. I even tried erasing all setting and info, and a restore. Still, nothing.
    What am I doing wrong here? Is there something I need to do in the network settings of my iPhone? Or my cpu? I don't understand the error as I am connected to the internet.
    Please, someone help me!
    Thank you.

    Thank you for your help. I did try to do a full restore, but had to pause the download. When I came back and resumed it, the download just kept going past the 92MB file. It went all the way up to 200MB of 92MB...I have no idea what is going on with that. So I just stopped it and deleted it.
    But it takes almost an hour to download it from my connection and I didn't want to try it again. Maybe I will have to.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Updating iPod Touch Software Version and Apps saved game data

    When I transfer my apps from iPod touch to iTunes will it also moved the saved game data like in Zombie Cafe, Amateur  Surgeon 2 so on and so fort? Because I want to update my software version...

    No.  Transferring the app to the computer only transfers the app itself. not app data.  App dat is stored in the iPod backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the a sync and of an update.  Therefore, I would do one last sync of the iPod before restoring and ensure that the backup gets made.  You can check by going to the Devices tab in iTunes' Preferences and looking at the date of the backup.  Also, make sure your apps are in your iTunes library since the apps themselves are not in the backup but are synced to the iPod at the end of the update.

  • Has anyone had any consistent success using DTM for Mac's??????

    If you did - share how.
    I have read for hours, tried so many things and still no success. Once in a blue moon - maybe.
    I love my Storm, but at times when DTM deletes all my info - it may end up in the trash.
    I'm looking for a simple straight forward way to get this to work.
    All I need to sync is iCal.
    If Verizon had the iphone - I would switch in a minute - I bet that would sync without issue.
    Bryan

    I also had Missing Sync on my Mac, but I uninstalled it before installing BB DM for Mac. When BB DM 1.0.2 came out, the old DM uninstaller failed, so I used a 3rd party app to uninstall it before installing the update.
    I was able to successfully update the BB OS using the first version of DM for Mac.
    Nevertheless, I've had extremely frustrating problems. (iCal events duplicated, items created or changed on BB not getting synced, calendar items and memos erased during sync, etc.)
    I have BusySync installed so that iCal syncs with Google Calendar. Would that cause a problem? If so, then BB DM for Mac is absolutely unusable for my purposes.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Has anyone had trouble with ng-model updating in a photoshop extension?

    For some reason I can't get my ng-model to work unless I use CTRL+V or the delete key. I had to add this code to fix it:
    Anyone else had this issue>?
    (function () {
        'use strict';
        var blur = angular.module('ngModelUpdate', []);
        var directive = ['$parse', function ($parse) {
            return {
                restrict: 'E',
                require: '?ngModel',
                link: function (scope, elm, attr, ngModel) {
                    var model;
                    if (!ngModel) {
                        return;
                    elm.on('input keydown change', function () {
                        scope.$apply(function () {
                            ngModel.$setViewValue(elm.val());
        blur.directive('input', directive);
        blur.directive('textarea', directive);

  • Has anyone had 8.1 success?

    im just asking because all im seeing is failures or issues  the update went fine on my 2011 Macbook Pro and i havent found a single issue yet.  i just wanna see if im not the only one.  i was on 7 x64 RTM then went to 8 pro RTM via MS update to windows 8 thing  then did all the windows 8 updates then did the 8.1 update  all on Bootcamp 5 drivers
    here is a screenshot for proof:
    just wondering.

    Just bought a new late 2013 Macbook Pro 13-inch with Retina display today. There seems to be a bug in the Boot Camp Assistant. It froze after creating the BOOTCAMP Windows partition. Not a big deal though. The Windows 8.1 install went without a hitch. Some interesting observations though. It appears Apple has finally adhered to the EFI spec on their computers. My last Mac was an early 2009 Mac Mini with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It was not compatible with 64-bit Windows Vista or 64-bit Windows 7. On that computer the EFI system partition was a read only HFS+ partition which meant you had to do a traditional BIOS install. The EFI spec has always stated that the EFI System Partition must be a FAT partition since the first version of the spec was written. On my new late 2013 Macbook Pro the EFI system partition is a FAT partition. In fact, it's no longer possible to do a BIOS install of Windows. The Windows setup program complains that it can't install to the BOOTCAMP partition because the hard disk has a GPT partition table. Windows boots considerably faster thanks to the EFI install. On my 2009 Mac Mini it took a whopping 5 minutes to boot into 32-bit Windows 7. That's how long it took the Mac Mini just to load its BIOS compatibility mode so Windows 7 could boot.

    Removing strange software can be a task.  The following outlines various ways of uninstalling software:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
    Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
    Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
    Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
    Some applications may install a Startup item or a Log In item.  Startup items are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the Delete [-] button to delete it from the list.
    Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
    If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead.  Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
    Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
    There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Note that you must have this software installed before you install software you may need to uninstall.  Uninstallers won't work if you install them after the fact.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
    Look for them and others at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
    For more information visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on removing software and dealing with spyware and malware.
    After removing all the components of the software you may have to restart the computer to fully disable the software.  This will be the case when removing software that has installed a daemon.  After the daemon has been removed you need to restart the computer to stop the daemon.  Alternatively, you can kill the daemon process using the Terminal application or Activity Monitor.

  • Updating to ipod software version 1.2.1.

    I have just bought a new ipod (5th generation) and am prompted to update to version 1.2.1., when synchronizing with my computer. However, despite having no internet connectivity problems for anything else I get the following pop up message.
    'Itunes could not contact the ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet.
    Make sure your internet connection is active and try again'.
    Can anyone suggest how I could solve this?

  • Cannot Update to New Software Version

    I posted this before, but I was away from the computer for a while so I am reviving.  Here's my original post:
    Hello, everyone.  I received the notification about the software update today.  This is my first time having to update my iPhone 4 at home; the last time I was at my off campus apartment where I had wifi.  At home, I have the Verizon Wireless Internet Service because I cannot get cable internet where I live in the country.  I plugged my iPhone into my laptop (Windows 7), and I ended up with this pop up, although I am connected to the internet: "iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the Internet.  Make sure your Internet connection is active and try again."
    Has anyone else dealt with this?  Is there another way for me to update my iPhone from home?  I hope it doesn't strictly required wifi.  Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
    Now, I have tried turning off my firewall and antivirus.  It did not work.  I updated iTunes itself, and I still get the same popup.  I came across the one post about working the host file thing.  It did not work either.  I called Verizon.  Since the internet itself is fine, there is nothing they can do to help me.  Needless to say, I am beyond frustrated and mad lol.
