Anyone had problems with apps disappearing when no one has actively deleted them?

My apps keep disappearing. I get the grey question mark through an app yet no one has deleted anything, the app has just gone. Not in trash, not in apps... Any ideas why?

Hard drives fail. They just do after X amount of time. Nothing new about that. Worrying? Yes if you don't have a backup of your files. That is why both Apple and Microsoft include progams/apps for backing up the system in with the operating systems.
How old is your iMac? Since you are running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 it is at least 2.5 years old if not older.
I'm not saying your drive is on its way out but it could be one cause of the problem you are experiencing.
Open Disk Utility and verify the drive and repair it if needed. But if you do need to do a repair you might want to think about having it replaced.

Your download or install of the update may have been corrupt. Visit the Mac App Store and re-download the update or visit http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1726 and download the 10.9.2 update combo and re-install.

If you are really running iOS 3.1.2 as your signature suggests, that is likely the issue. Many apps now require iOS 4.3 or higher.

Do you mean the Keystation 88es? I have no problems connecting mine (and my other controllers) via USB through a USB hub, to my MacBook running MS2. I use the Motu Ultralite so I can't comment on the MBox but it should "just work".

Anyone had problems with jFilechooser?

I have problems with JFilechooser freezes when invoking returnVal = chooser.showDialog(this, "Select");
For some reason it freezes the entire program, allthough sometimes (rarely), it doesn't freeze.
Are there currently any problems with JFileChooser? I have not had any problems when embedding it in a window - only when using it on its own with JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser();

There was a bug with JFileChooser where it would be unnecessarily slow when the directory it was showing contained huge zip files on Windows. It seems like it had something to do with the Win32 API calls they were making actually looked into all of the zip file's entries even though it didn't need to. This was fixed back in Java 6 update 10. What Java version are you using?
If that isn't your problem, you'll have to post an SSCCE demonstrating your problem to get any help.

If I run a trusted reconciliation from our student records system to a group in OIM, that has an access policy thet provisions home directories on a windows server, some home directorys are created, but not all. Usually the Windows connector makes the provisiong run fail.
We are successfully provisioning:
1) Student records system trusted recon to IDM
2) Active directory and exchange
3) Blackboard (virtual learning environment)
Unsuccessfully provisioning
1) Windows
Has any one else had problems with windows adapter?

Anyone had problems losing Dropbox favourites on their iPad?
I have about 400 songs (words and chords) as Word documents on Dropbox marked as Favorites on my iPad (saves carrying around sheets of paper in a binder) but for some reason the documents lose their 'favourites' tag and so cannot be accessed unless I have a Wi-Fi connection. I have 're-favoritized' them twice already which is very time consuming. I am thinking of giving up and buying a tablet.
Any ideas?

Just looked at the string and I am guessing you didn't get it! Basically I was saying I was pleased you got a positive response from Dropbox. Very easy for Dropbox; very easy for Apple and Dropbox to blame each other which is not helpful to their customers.
You can of course use your songs via Dropbox providing you have access to Wi-fi at the gig but this is a bit risky if you are their to do a gig. By the way do you have the iPad holder that clips onto your mic stand? Saves taking a music stand and gives you a bit more room in the space a coffee bar or restaurant usually gives you.

Has anyone else encountered problems with iCloud being blocked by the web-security on company computers? I never had any problems with me.com, but now it appears I will be unable to check my mail via any computer at work.
Since iCloud is a portal for high-volume image and file sharing, I can understand why the site would be blocked, but it's very frustrating that this possibility would not have been anticipated, and an alternate web-mail site been set up. Otherwise many me.com subscribers may be left unable to use the iCloud web-mail portal via computers at work or at internet cafes that may block access to potentially risky websites.
Has anyone figured out a back door to this problem?

I dont beleive its an iOS 5 Issue - i think its hardware...
Simply because i have been running iOS 5 beta's since june and there were no issues with my iPhone 4.
When i installed the GM on my iphone 4 (which is the same build as the public release) there were no issues with charging in my vehicle.
Now, charging my iPhone 4S in my car is practically impossible.
when i plug mine in, it will display the "Plugged" symbol on the battery display but not actually charge. the battery will still decrease.
then it will randomly "disconnect" and not register that it is plugged in. then appear to be plugged in, then not, then plugged in, then not.
This will repeat over and over again without actually charging and the charger being in the socket throughout.
however yesterday i left it plugged in and my battery was 9% and after the strange plugged-in behaviour i noticed it was charging normally after about 20 mins in the car.
But when i did the same journey time today, the battery wouldnt register at all.... charging has only been successful ONCE since 14th October on the iPhone 4s
No idea whats up with it...

Has anyone had problems with Domayne using generic third party RAM for memory upgrades? My RAM is now faulty and had to be removed, but Apple wont replace it under Apple Care because its not a genuine component?

The computer was purchased in the knowledge that all components and hardware were genuine and subsequently covered by the Apple Care warranty.
Domayne replaced the genuine components (8GB stick) with generic components (2x 16GB sticks) to save money and boost margin.
Apple should not allow this misleading, profiteering behaivour. This behaviour is brand damaging. Apple must maintain more control over their supply chain.
Has anyone had any expirenece with this problem?

Has anyone had problems with Apple TV after updating iTunes to 11.0?

My Apple TV has worked well for over a year with home sharing and also mirroring from the iPad . This week I was instructed to update iTunes with 11.0. Since then the Apple TV with mirror the iPad but if I try to take a video to large screen it just stops. Is there a simple solution?

i dont have an ipad but ive had problems also, streaming music from my itunes off my macbook to my appleTV so i after seeing all these itunes 11 problems, im starting to think its the new itunes cuz my airplay was working fine until i updated also.

Had problem with DSL, now have only one tab with favicon matching that tab.

After a storm I had a problem with my U-Verse DSL. I lost access and got a message that it may be due to a problem with the filters on my phones, fax or satellite box. I disconnected all the items that had filters. I was then able to click on a link that AT&T had sent on the message and I got a response, I previously could not get a response because I had no connection. I got pack to the pages on all my tabs by hitting the back arrow on each one. I now have only one tab with favicon matching this WEB site for that tab, the rest all have the AT&T globe. I tried refresh and also opening a new tab and then going to one of the sites.
This problem is on a different PC that the one I am on now. It has version 21, and is Window 7 Home Premium. I have pasted the trouble shooting info from that PC.
