Anyone has sound in more than one app?

Just need to confirm that it's working. And what about quality. Is it worser than before doing it?
What method do you think is the best?

I can defiantly have sound in multiple applications. I usually play music with MPD, with Pidgin making noises every once in a while, and possibly the occasional youtube video or flash game making sounds.
Do you have problems with it? I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work, I just use ALSA normally.

Using More Than One App At A Time

Does anyone know if there is a way to use more than one app at a time? It would be nice to get back to the home screen without quitting an app if you are in the middle of something.

I know I have seen some apps that specifically say that they can be used while surfing the web, etc. It may be a function of the app that it can continue to run while you're doing something else. I'm kind of surprised that a radio app wouldn't allow for that.

As has been suggested, we won't know about future features until they announce them, but by understanding the current situation we can guess.
The current limitations on third-party applications running in the background make sense. It's not a technical limitation. App store downloads, and the phone functionality run in the background while other applications are up front.
It's a resource limitation. Processor power and probably more importantly battery life are the key limiting factors. It's not that Apple doesn't want you to have more functionality. It's that it currently struggling to deliver a quality experience that satisfies as many customers as possible. As it is the battery life is only just acceptable enough for most current customers, many are unhappy with it.
So if more efficient chips or batteries become available, or some genius programmer manages to squeeze out a whole lot more out of less, then we'll see more background processes allowed.

How do i get my ipod touch to download more than one app at a time, can i make it toware i dont have to wait for one app to download before it starts downloading another,

my ipod will only download one app at a time and runs extremely slow. i was wondering if there is some way that i can make it download more than one app at a time and how can i make the app start downloading again after i have left my wi-fi zone and then went back in. im really confused.

Download everything on your computer in iTunes, then sync your iPod to iTunes.
You should be syncing (backing up) to iTunes and your photo app regurally, anyway.

Ipad, filing, folders, opening a document with more than one app...

I am wondering about iPad filing, documents and the future that iOS 5 and iCloud hold.
Am I right in thinking that there will still be no file/folder structure and that documents will be held individually by apps?
This creates two problems for me:
1) I need to access the same document (e.g. a pdf file) from more than one app. For example, say I need to use iAnnotate to mark it up and Sente to file it. However each app keeps their own copy of the document, so the annotated copy from iAnnotate is not the same copy as the one filed correctly in the Sente database.
2) How do I keep the files for a specific project together? Say I have source documents, word-processing documents, presentations, images etc all related to one project: how do I keep them all together? If we had tagging (as in openmeta or similar) I could tag them - works beautifully on the desktop but not available on the iPad. If we had folders I could at least group them in folders... What is is the iPad solution?

Here's how I address # 1:
I use DropBox as my central hub to keep documents accessible and synced between my iPad and my laptop. That means that I export, share, copy or print the document, with my changes, to DropBox from whatever application I'm using. For example, if I open a PDF in PDF Expert (the app I use for reading and annotating) I can "open" a copy in DropBox with my annotations. For Pages and other iWork files I use DropDAV which enables me to save to DropBox via WebDAV. For other apps like Safari that don't have DropBox integration, I use Save2PDF to "print" a PDF to the appropriate DropBox folder.
As to #2, two things come to mind. The first is that you can use the search function to find related files if you put your tag in the title or somewhere else searchable. The second is that I set up a file structure in DropBox on my laptop that meets my needs (and is also one way to begin to emulate a file structure on the iPad). For example, i keep my current course files, with their presentations, documents, and spreadsheets, in DropBox. But many of my projects have so many components and so many images, etc, I've become used to having components in different applications (Aperture, iTunes, etc) and I do rely on my laptop (and its external drives) for my central and final project management. For things in process, though, the iPad works very well.
ICloud may change all this. :-)

Some apps stay open when trying to close more than one app at a time in ios 7

I tried closing down 2 or 3 app at a time in IOS7 and there's always one or two that stay open. The icon at the bottom is still there but I've already swiped it up to close it. When I go out of the closing function and come back I see that they are still open and I need to close them again. I tried this on many ipads, iPhones and ipod touch and they all act the same way.

I guess you didn't know, but yes you can close more than one app at a time. You can close up to 3 apps at a time in the new IOS7 on the iPhone. Try opening at least 3 apps and then double click the main button to see what apps are opened. Then swipe to the left to see the three of them on your screen. Your not gonna see the ones on the side entirely but you can still put all three fingers on them, then simply swipe them up and it closes them up.
The thing is, when you have let say 10 apps open, and you start using this trick, some of them will stay open meaning you swiped them up to close them down but the bottom icon stays there. When you come back to your main IOS desktop and then go back to close the programs that you have opened, you can see that those apps are still opened. There is only like 2 or three out of all the 10 you had opened that stayed open, but none the less it's a bug in the system I presume.
You also asked about the icon at the bottom. When you are seeing what apps are opened, there is always a small icon at the bottom and on top you have a representation of what you were working on, and that is the part you swipe up. But often time the bottom icon will stay opened after swiping 2 or 3 of the apps to close them.

How can a file be accessed by more than one app. In my case I want to transfer a midi file from my PC to my iPod Touch and be able to open it from a couple of Midi Players which I am evaluating - or does each Midi Player have to import the file seperately for its own use?

It seems to me that what you want is exactly a session bean will do. The EJB container is responsible to maintain a certain number instances (configurable) of your session bean and serve multiple clients at the same time. Session beans are not necessarily destroyed after serving a client. If you configure your ejb server to have a pool size of 2 to 100, then you will always have at least 2 instances (no more than 100 even there are a lot of client access) of this ejb ready to serve. The only thing not clear to me is that do you want to use only ONE instance of this bean or you don't care as long as multiple clients can access this bean's service? Since you mentioned that there is not a real database access, you can certainly use a Singleton but a 'regular' session bean with static fields should do it also if these fields will not be modified by clients.

on a local network, you could define multiple aliases on the DNS server. For internet facing apps, maybe you have luck with OHS/Apache rewrite or proxy rules that modify the path (e.g. /apex1/, /apex2/, ... requests get re-written to /apex/) or by providing more DADs.

Accounts at More than One App Store

Is it possible to set up an account at more than one App Store ( for example the US Store and the Netherlands' store) at the same time?

You can have multiple iTunes accounts, but you can only be logged into one account at a time and you can only use a country's store if you are in that country - so when you are in the US and if you have a US billing address then you can use the US store ; when you are in the Netherlands and you have a Netherlands billing address then you can use the Netherlands store.

Finder enhnacements installed? = no. I did a reinstall of Mavericks, not a full clean install = no help. Searched for "single-app mode" in Spotlight and the web, no luck.
With Safari open on screen, from dock, opened iTunes and Safari does not show on screen. Open Word from doc and iTunes is not on screen.

Package Admin_Optimize - Selecting more than one app

Is there an issue with running the admin_optimize package with multiple apps (separated with commas)? This has worked in versions prior to 5.1 SP3.
I'm getting an "error" when I try to run the admin_optimize (out-of-box) package with more than one application specified. The error message says "entry is not valid....available options are: Consolidation".

Does anyone know if you will be able to open more than on app at a time on the new iphone 6 plus? I would like to multi-task with the app's in the new operating system.

More Than One App Window Open At A Time

Hi,
Having just done a complete fresh Erase & Install of OS X 10.6, after having had 10..4.11, I find that if I have more than one applications window open with another applications window on the screen ~ say a Finder window, and a Photoshop window, although if I select the "Show All" command, I can see them together on screen, but if I select either of the windows, the other applications window disappears ~ and it's driving me nuts ~ IYSWIM?
Although the disappearing or hidden window is useful, at times I find I need to drag something from one apps window to another. But if I try that, as soon as I select the item I wish to drag into the other app, that applications window disappears.
I know I'm being dense, but I just cannot sort it out. Can any kind soul please help or advise?

No extra applications had been installed, just the OS X install, so to save time in the long term, I decided to reinstall OS X again, and now the problem is fixed.
With regards to your comments that an Erase & Install is a waste of time, I think thats a bit of a sweeping statement. As it depends on the situation and the users computer status. If you install programs on a regular basis, for say beta testing, then you can end up with a lot of crud in there. An erase & Install returns your machine to pristine condition. The important thing to remember is to plan well, and make good backups of your data, prefs and settings etc.

Hi all! after some search at forums I'm quite sure that I can have more than one SDK installed at the same time.
But what i Want to do is having more than one Tomcats running in those SDK
Of course, the principal matter is about ports, but I wanna know how Can i get them running... Will i call each JVM especify?
Will they use patyh ??
Any tomcat+jdk user can trow me some advice ?
