Anyone have a link to the last Safari 4 beta? I want configurable options
I'm really annoyed that Apple removed the potential for setting preferences in Terminal.app for things like the progress bar (I liked blue better, and I could do it in the betas), tabs on top, etc. Now none of these are possible as far as I know. If Apple doesn't want everyone tweaking the UI, fine-then keep the preferences hidden as they were in the beta so that those of us who want to and know what we're doing can tweak it. What's up with this?

The latest version of Safari 4 is different in some respects than Safari 4 Beta. Hence, the uninstaller with the Beta would not work.
Do you have a bootable clone or Time Machine backup of your system prior to the S4 install? If not, your recourse is a reinstall of the OS via Archive and Install.
Regarding the tweaking process, I say give 3rd party developers, such as Tweaks some time to figure out a workaround. Help may be on the way.
Also, consider contacting the Tweaks developer about what you would like to see as a changeable option in S4.

It's a system wide "preference"; fortunately, there is an option somewhere in your System Preferences (*not* Illustrator's) to switch this totally annoying, bug-infested, problem causing "new improved what-the-xxxx-were-they-thinking" new feature off.
I did that SO fast after installing Lion, I can't even recall where to change it. I NEVER ever want it back ON again, so no loss there. -

Woke up this morning to find my iPod acting somewhat normal (i.e. wasn't frozen with stupid icons on the screen, but showed the menus and all). Can someone link me to where i can get an older updater so i can try to end this problem once and for all? I don't know how it happened, but i wish i could tell everyone.

Does anyone have a cure for the following error running on Windows, "The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be found located in the dynamic link library SQLite.dll.
I have searched my computer for that file SQlite3.dll and also file QTCF.dll and I cannot find either one when I search my whole computer for it. I cannot fix this! I deleted Itunes and every time I try to download it, it goes through all this download till the end when it says that iTunes.exe-entry point now found and that Procedure entry point message comes up. HELP! This is driving me crazy. How can I get itunes to work again when I can't find the danged .dll file to remove, move or rename!?!?!??

I just started having an issue with my bank website working properly. They have told me it is because of the last safari upgrade. Is this being resolved?
You might want to consider "voting with your feet" and taking your business to another bank. When they tell you the upgrade is the problem, it is really their problem and not yours. If you don't want to do that, the suggestion that you try another browser is absolutely correct.

HBO gives me a message saying that my browser does not support the service and that I need Safari 3 or higher, I have an ipad 3 and just downloaded the last version of Ios from Itunes, so I believe I should have the last safari version

Every time I log onto my iMac profile it starts Safari immediately trying to load a blank page...is anyone else having this problem the last day or two?
Go to: Safari Preferences... and select the General tab.
1. Check to make sure that "New windows open with: Homepage"
2. Then if it still opens blank...? Select the Homepage page that you want Safari to open on and click the "Set to Current Page" button. -

The computer security industry buzzed Thursday with warnings that more than a half-million Macintosh computers may have been infected with a virus targeting Apple machines.
Flashback Trojan malware tailored to slip past "Mac" defenses is a variation on viruses typically aimed at personal computers (PCs) powered by Microsoft's Windows operating systems.
The infections, spotted "in the wild" by Finland-based computer security firm F-Secure and then quantified by Russian anti-virus program vendor Dr. Web, come as hackers increasingly take aim at Apple computers.
"All the stuff the bad guys have learned for doing attacks in the PC world is now starting to transition to the Mac world," McAfee Labs director of threat intelligence Dave Marcus told AFP.
"Mac has said for a long time that they are not vulnerable to PC malware, which is true; they are vulnerable to Mac malware."
Dr. Web determined that more than 600,000 Mac computers may be infected with Flashback, which is designed to let hackers steal potentially valuable information such as passwords or financial account numbers.
Hackers trick Mac users into downloading the virus by disguising it as an update to Adobe Flash video viewing software.
Apple has long boasted that Windows machines are more prone to hacking than Macs.
Computer security specialists contend that the reason for the disparity was that since most of the world's computers were powered by Windows, hackers focused on systems that promised the most prey.
As the popularity of Macs has soared, so has the allure of hacking Apple operating systems, according to Marcus.
"There has been a significant increase in Mac malware in the last several quarters, so what we've seen with the Flashback Trojan isn't particularly surprising," Marcus said.
"Cybercriminals will attack any operating system with valuable information, and as the popularity of Macs increase, so will attacks on the Mac platform."
Computer users, no matter their operating systems of choice, need to protect machines with tactics including up-to-date anti-virus programs and avoiding risky habits such as opening files or clicking links from unknown sources. -

I'm using two tables
TWDATA
EVENT
From TWDATA I'm pulling the fields TWDATA.OrderNumber and TWDATA.DisbursementDate
From EVENT I'm pulling the fields EVENT.EventCode and EVENT.CompletedDate
The two tables are linked by OrderNumber. -
I cannot backup my iphone, it keeps telling me the backup is corrupt and not compatible. All forums have suggested I delete the last backup but that was months ago and I'm afraid if I do that and it still doesn't work, I won't have anything saved. Can anyone help?

I recently bought a new macbook and installed Acrobate Pro. My settings/preferences did not come over and I do not have the same style options for my signature. It now only allows me three options and the style I have been using for the last year is not there. How do I add additional options and get my preferred signature style back?

You can go ahead and try uninstalling and reinstalling it and see if that works for you .

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I've learned something. New. This must be recently changed. That last time I clicked on a Link I though was a dmg file and turned out it was and exe file my Macs wouldn't allow me to do so. But haven't tried recently everytime and exe file comes up I cancel. I gues I am used to the time everytime a Virus or some other nasty was downloaded it was packaged in and exe file and Macs owuldn't allow it. I suppose with the INtel guts now they can no longer refuse to download. -
