Anyone have a Samsung 305T monitor with their Thinkpad?

I have bought a Samsung 305T 30" 2560x1400 monitor to connect to my W510.
The monitor seems to only accept dual-link DVI hence i would like to ask if someone here runs this monitor with their Thinkpad and what adapter is recommended for this purpose?

HP DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI-D Adapter NR078AA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Converts the DisplayPort connector on an HP Compaq Business Desktop computer or HP Workstation to a dual link DVI port. The adapter has a latching DisplayPort connector on one end, and a USB connector and DVI-D connector on the other end for connecting to a DVI monitor cable. HP DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI-D Adapter NOTE: The USB cable of the DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI-D adapter is for power only and should be connected to one of the system's rear USB ports. USB hubs may not provide sufficient power and are not recommended for use with this adapter.

  • Is there a way to create a PDF form that ANYONE can fill out and SAVE with their content?

Is there a way to create a PDF form that ANYONE can fill out and SAVE with their content? By anyone, I mean someone who can download and use the free Adobe Reader, on either a Mac or PC. I have Acrobat Pro, and would like to be able to create forms that can not only be filled out and printed, but saved and emailed, which is not an option with the forms I have created to date. They can be filled out, but not saved, with Adobe Reader.
    TIA,
    Nancy

To do what Dave indicated you need to do, it depends on what version of Acrobat you have:
Acrobat 8: Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)
I wonder what it will be next time?

    Hi alangium,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!

    18. What is the maximum resolution available for use with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter?
The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate.

    How can I detect displays?
If the detect displays option is not available, hold down the Option key while you are in the Display pane.
How do I select additional resolutions on my display?
You can use the Display pane of System Preferences to specify how your display works. Not all options appear for all display models. By default the best resolution for your display will already be selected in System Preferences.
To select a different resolution, use the Scaled option. Some additional resolutions may be available when you hold the Option button.
I hope this information helps ....

What problems, if any, has anyone had by changing to iCloud with their iWeb pages?

The iWeb Application will still run after Mobile Me will be turned off; you can export your web pages to a folder on your hard disk and use ftp to upload the pages to another hosting service.
The generated webpages however will refer to icons located on the mobile me server. To make the forward/backward arrows in slide shows work again you will have to patch the iWeb Application. See Old Toad's tutorial on how to do this:

Also there is a nice tutorial on how to transit from Mobile Me to another service; see Roger Wilmut's page here:

has anyone used a boxware keyboard buddy with their iphone?

I guess if you travel the iPhone is not the device to buy.
And which device to buy for travel? As far as I know other smartphone platforms even don't have an update facility like AppStore. And by the way what are your criteria for the perfect travel phone? I would place being able to use it in other countries (world phone), having easy access to internet and email and ability to remotely sync Contacts and Calendar on top of my list. All of which iPhone is capable like few other phones.
I'm sorry, John, but your statement seems like utter nonsense and is misleading for others. First being able to update apps doesn't cross my mind as a main functionality for travel. Second I was just travelling to SC and easily installed a new app from iPhone and updated an existing one. In your case I believe there's a mishap with AppStore. Probably you have a false update notification. Just compare versions of the apps you have with the versions of the same apps AppStore shows. I bet version are same. That's why it doesn't let you install.
If you want to sync your iPhone Contacts and Calendar (which seems more like a genuine travel requirement) you can do it via MobileMe or Yahoo and few other similar web services.

  • Dual Samsung 2343bwx Monitors with Mac Mini

I am looking to purchase the new Mac Mini Server for my lab, but have a question. I currently have dual Samsung 2343bwx monitors attached to a Windows 2008 server (please no snickers, I am replacing it with a Mac!) using UltraMon to span the desktop across both monitors. My question is can the Mini support both monitors at 2048 x 1152, and give me the same functionality I have now?
If it does support it can you tell me what connectors your are using?

Should work ok. The 2048x1152 16:9 aspect ratio on the 2343BWX is only slightly more pixels than 1920x1200.
    See this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9855163&#9855163
And spanning shouldn't be a problem, either.

  • I cannot install iTunes updates as of today.  Does anyone have any idea what changed with iTunes?

The question apparently needs to be typed in twice...  good work.  Here it is again:
I cannot install iTunes updates as of today.  Does anyone have any idea what changed with iTunes?

Is this a distinct issue from the 42404?
If so, are you getting an error message when you try to install iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

Anyone have no service pop up with the new update and stay like that

Try a Reset holding the Sleep button and the Home button together until Apple logo shows up and then wait for the Reset to return you to the lock-screen.   If you still don't have service check Settings>General>About and then scroll down to Carrier and see if your Service Provider is listed.

  • Resolution of Samsung T220 monitor with Mac Mini (or any Mac)

I'm looking at a Samsung T220 or T220HD paired with a Mac Mini, or more probably new Mac Mini to be announced in Jan, 2009. The maximum resolution for the T220 is 1680 x 1050. The Samsung manual states that the T220 usually supports all Macs, but to check the "Preset Timing Modes" to ensure Mac is supporte for this model.
When checking the T220 user manual, the "Preset Timing Modes" section indicates only the following resolutions when connecting to a Mac:
    MAC, 640 x 480
    MAC, 832 x 624
    MAC, 1152 x 870
Does this mean Mac owners can never get the maximum 1680 x 1050 resolution out of this and similar Samsung monitors, only 1152 x 870? If so, what's the point of investing in a good quality monitor that gives Macs only mediocre resolutions?
Any Mac owners getting 1680 x 1050 out of their Samsung T220 or T220HD?

    Hi there
I just got a new Mac Mini and a 32 inch Samsung LCD 450 series. I am not sure of max resolution but I know it's a 720p set. I have been impressed with the plug and play set up via a VGA cable. But, I can not seem to figure out how to get the max resolution set up either.
The Mac display preferences only give me choices for standard monitor sizes that are not proportional to the Samsung screen, I have tired both 800 x 600 and the 1024 x 768 I have mixed and matched this with changing the picture proportions on the TV (16:9 vs 4:3). Things either seem stretched or overly square.
Am I missing something here, Is there somewhere else I should be looking for settings to tweak?
Any help or steering toward other resources would be most welcome.
    Thanks, Josh

  • Samsung 2494LW monitor with mini?

has anyone used this monitor with the new 2010 mac mini? i ask due to the calibration option it has not working with snow. can it be adjusted without the "magictune"?
LCD / TFT : Where Can I Get MagicTune?
Note: Magic Tune is currently only available for the following operating systems:
    Microsoft :
    Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista (32/64 bit) and Windows 7 (32/64 bit).
    Apple:
Mac OS X 10:2.6 to 10.5.7, at this time there is no support for Leopard.
Magictune is a software equivalent of the on screen display menu, if Magic tune does not work on your system you have the following options. You can use the built-in OSD menu of the monitor, or you may be able to adjust the settings using the advanced settings of your video card. Please contact your pc or video card manufacturer for assistance.

  • Anyone successfully using an LG  Monitor with a Macbook Pro?

I am considering an LG L226WQT to use with our MBP and Powermac G5. I have been told that LG monitors don't work well with Macs, but I have not found any actual information suggesting this.

I just got the HP LP2275w, and I'm not able to get it to detect the signal from the Mac. I may be missing something entirely, since my MacBook Pro is also new and my primary computer was a Windows machine before. Anyone have any tips on getting this monitor going with a MacBook Pro?

  • Does anyone here access a shared calendar with their Blackberry???

I work for a very large company and I don't use my personal calendar. I use a calendar on a shared mailbox where several people enter appointments I need to attend. So far I have not been able to get a hold of anyone in our IT department who knows if it is possible to have my Blackberry synchronize with the shared calendar instead of my personal calendar. Surely other people must access a shared calendar with their BB. Doesn't seem like such an unusual thing to need to do. On my laptop I have access to both my personal and the shared calendar in Outlook. We run an Exchange Server and that is about the extent of info I have.

If she has been syncing her phone with iTunes she could restore her phone to her last backup.  This will revert the settings and data on her phone to those contained in the backup (losing more recent information).  You should probably unshare your iCloud calendar with her before beginning to avoid the possiblility of her restored calendar replacing yours.  Then, before connecting her phone, open iTunes on the computer she syncs with, go to Preferences and on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  Next, connect her phone and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on it and select Restore from Backup, taking care to choose her backup to restore from and not yours.  If this restores her calendar she should give it a unique name before trying to share your iCloud calenadar again.
If she syncs her calendar with a supported application on her computer (such as Outlook) another option would be to replace her iPhone calendar with the calendar on her computer by checking to do so on the Info tab of her iTunes sync settings (under Advanced>Replace information on this iPhone>check Calendars), apply and sync.

  • Does anyone have experience selling or giving away their Nano?

I'm considering selling my Nano and hope to replace it with a Touch. My question is, what do I need to do before selling the Nano to a buyer? Do I need to do any preparation?
What does a buyer need to do to make a used Nano his? Can I just give him the Nano and say download iTunes? Do I need to "release" the Nano in some way?
    Anyone have experience with this?

Do you really want to give your buyer some games from iTunes?!?
But maybe that's not such a bad idea, the buyer might be more likely to buy your iPod if games are on it, but if you give him your iPod the games will be synced over, and erased. Select +"Enable disk mode"+ and drag-and-drop your games from iTunes onto it. Then he can drag the games to his own iTunes library.
