Anyone have an idea on how to create...
...a time clock effect that will be on a video clip(sort of like a security videocam or a videocamera's display) with time running(hours,minutes date as well) by. I've tried TIMECODE GENERATOR in FCP but have no luck in establishing a specific time frame I:E 2:25 P.M. or 14:25. Thanks
I created hours, minutes and seconds in three separate layers and lined them up to look like a digital readout (09:07:58PM) For the seconds, I typed in 59, 58, 57 and so on with a hard return after each. Then I keyframed the Y position of that layer to stay static for 1 second, and then increase over the course of 1 to bring up the next number. Then in Keyframe Editor, I chose After Last Keyframe>Progressive. The clock now counts down second by second. You could do the same for minutes and hours if your clock is on screen that long.

Have any of you heard if Adobe will be allowing custom gestures (2-4 finger, different directions, unique movements, etc.) in the DPS InDesign software? I have a new Mac Mini and I found AdWare called TakeOverSearchAssetsMac and SearchProjects on it. I have been unable to remove it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

I've been working on our church website and all of a sudden this week, my computer will not connect to the site. I keep getting a message saying that the the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can fix this?
The "The connection was reset" error message can be caused by a bug fix for the BEAST (Browser Exploit Against SSL/TLS) attack that the server doesn't handle.

I can not get my mail to send on my mac. It has been fine until about 2 hours ago, incoming mails are fine. I have jused all of my 3 accounts and I can't send from any og them (they are all on different servers) anyone have nay ideas on how I can fix this?
Jailbreaking violates the Apple warranty and licensing agreement and voids ALL support from Apple. No one on here can help you as doing so is a violation of the Terms of Use of these Communities. If you send the iPad to Apple they will just send it back to you as they are not permitted to work on a machine that has been jailbroken.

Ive just upgraded to Mountain lion, I was using Safari and tried to use iCloud tabs. When I open it up there are no tabs there, anyone have any ideas on how to get it working?
Can you check system update? I think I did a system Update 1st, a day before installing OSX Lion and there is a Safari update. If not try logging in iCloud.

On my new iMac, mail has no sound after waking from sleep. If I select do not wake for network access in general preferences, the problem does not occur. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Thanks --
Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.

Anyone have any ideas of how to make the battery on the iphone5 last longer? I don't use the phone that much and the battery does not last all day. Phone is new.
Many suggestions can be found here
1. turn off push email and use fetch or manual fetch instead.
2. turn off or at least limit notifications
3. limit use of apps that use location services (eg. maps app - heavy power useage when running).
4. in General->About->Diagnostics & Usage, turn off Automatic sending.
5. Privacy->Location Services->System Services, disable everything (none of it need be running for normal use).
6. Wifi, turn off "Ask to Join Networks" so your device is not polling all open networks it finds.
7. keep brightness as low as you can get by with.
Finally, get a car charger, and a second charger for work/school and just plug in whenever it is convenient to do so.
Or, if it suits your daily routine better, get an external battery power brick or case and charge it periodically from that. -

Tap Camera App > switch to video > see if the flash will turn ON. If still problem, Restore your iPhone with iTunes on computer. See if fixed. If still problem, your iPhone has full Warranty with Apple.

I have reloaded the software from the original disk and have downloaded the latest update and still get the same error.Did you delete all receipts with iDVD in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder before installing the new copy? If not then do so and delete the new application also.

However, I'm guessing that incompatible RAM is the likely problem, especially if the problem goes away when you revert to the original RAM. It's worth mentioning that there have been many, many reports on here where users have experienced KP's after upgrading to 32gb of RAM. Swapping the RAM for a known 'good' brand usually solves the problem.

HP Pavilion g6-2210us Notebook PC windows 8 failure. Anyone have any ideas on how to recover it?
I recently bought a Pavilion g6, got it in the mail, it worked perfectly. However, one day when I turned it on, it started to do its rounds of automatic updates. After about 10 minutes, though, our internet gave out and it stopped updating. Then, after a few minutes, it powered off. Now, whenver i turn it on, it gives me this: Error code: 0xc00000001 And tells me to use the recovery tools on my installation media. The thing is, I didn't have any installation media because windows 8 came preinstalled. When I try to recover it, it tells me that the operating system couldn't load because a critical system driver is missing or contains errors. File: \windows\system32\drivers\ACPI.sys . So, I tried pretty much everything I could think of besides ordering a recovery disk, which would cost around $20. Which is kind of ridiculous to pay for soemthing I had no control over. So, before I blow $20, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas that could help? If you do, thanks!
My suggestion would be to do a system recovery from the recovery partition on your hard drive.
