Anyone have an idea on this?

I have a ProMac, dual 2.66, 4 GB of ram and 250, 250 GB hard drive.
I waited to install X.4.10 because of all the talk of audio problems.
Today when the patch was posted, I donloaded X.4.10 combo updateer, and the audio patch.
I installed X.4.10, no problem.
I tried to install the audio patch and I got a red exclamation mark when I selected my hard drive.
Upon clicking it I got a message saying "Installing this software requires 1.6MB of space. You cannot install Audio Update 2007-001 on this volume. This volume does not meet the requiments for this update."
Of course the hard drive icon tells me I have 232 GB (159GB Free.)
Clearly I have plenty of space to install this update. I guess I assume it won't let me because they've fixed the combo drive to include this patch, or correct the initial problem at any rate.
I don't appear to have any audio problems, at least not yet that I can discern.
I wanted to check with Apple (the ProMac is ONLY 10 days old and I wanted confirmation of my hypothesis). The person I spoke to had NO idea at all why I'd get this message implying that I didn't have enough space.
Anyone have a theory?
More curious than disturbed.
(Also.... get this. The set-up assitant tried to open after installing X.4.10. I just quit it, rebooted and it didn't come back. Much as I like the "Welcome to Apple in 10 languages" movie..... once was enough.)

Upon clicking it I got a message saying "Installing this software requires 1.6MB of space. You cannot install Audio Update 2007-001 on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
As a convenience to you it has reported how much space it would occupy if it were installed. That message does not say there is not enough room -- it says the System on that drive does not meet the requirements for the update.
The programmers who write these messages are dealing with a very literal computer all day, every day. Their messages are not metaphor. They are very, very literal. Read the message literally and do not be distracted by the extraneous additional information (the size of the update).
