Anyone have an idea when Bug 5243019 or related 5290437 will be patched?

We have hit a wall in a development need that requires the use of a distance function. We tried using SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE and SDO_GEOM.WITHIN_DISTANCE and each command has memory leaks when handled within a looped process in a PL/SQL block. If we calculate the distance the old fashioned way, the process runs terribly slow. Has anyone heard anything that would indicate a date for when this specific spatial related bug will be patched?

I assume you are running 10.2 on 32-bit Windows (since no leak on Linux). This is now fixed with Windows 10.2.0.2 patch 5. Note that this a patch to 10.2.0.2 so you need to already have the basic 10.2.0.2 installation done prior to applying this patch. Once you are running 10.2.0.2 you can get the patch as follows:
Login to Metalink "http://metalink.oracle.com/"
Click on "Patches and Updates" tab
Click on "Simple Search" option
You will get a new screen
- Enter 5383042 in "patch Number" field
- Select "Microsoft Windows (32-bit)" from list of platforms
This will give you the new screen
- Read the README!!!
- Press the DOWNLOAD Key
I had the same issue you are facing and this patch fixed it.

In this respect you are right. 10.2.0.5 is a patchset,not a full version,I guess the terminal release before version 11.
First you have to install 10.2.0.1 (10.2.0.2 on Windows),then you apply the patchset. 10.2.0.5 is cumulative,no need to install previous patchset versions. You have a 'software only' option,that means setup and configuration happens only once - after the patchset has been applied. This is explained in the Release Notes.
10.2.0.5 added full 11gR1 support to gridcontrol,that's the most important aspect for me. There are other new features :

Text Software Updates. Anyone have an idea when it might be?

I love this phone but thats the bit that really annoys me coz i cant foward or text to multiple contacts. I cant believe it isnt possible on iphone when its a basic function on any other mobile i have had!
When people ask me about the phone as they are considering buying one, i always tell them about the texting and that is the off putting thing for most people!

No idea..it's a known bug that some people are having and some arent...please..no one wants to hear from the people not having the problem..we get it..yours is perfect.
People have provided apple feedback and a very helpful user on here, ansuz has some link to the feedback area..the more people who post about it, hopefully, they'll understand its annoyance factor.
Then it's really up to apple as to when or if to fix it.

I'm editing a wedding video now and am waiting for the new updates (especially the functionality between Speedgrade and PP) to drop. I had heard a few weeks back that they were going to happen 10/15 but that date came and went. Then at the Create Now tour they said "in the next few days", but that was nearly a week ago. Does anyone have ANY idea when the wifi issue will be solved?

My wife and I have had our iPad since May. The iPad has, almost from the start, been TERRIBLE on wireless. After a bunch of trial and error we discovered that the only way we could get it to work with out network was to disable/enable to the wireless every time it stop responding, which means doing this every 30-40 minutes on most days.
Obviously this is hands down unacceptable. Apple posted the 3.2.1 fix which was supposed to solve this, but of course it didn't. As an application architect my team and I have been doing development for the iPad recently, and we encountered a bug related to this for one of our apps where the app would time out on load and close. Turns out the network connection is slowing down so badly it can't get a simple list within the initial 20 second launch window for the apps.
This file is somewhere in the realm of sub-100k... 20 seconds? REALLY? On a 4mbps cable connection?!?!
I'm almost ready to get my money back at this point... it's really frustrating to have to deal with this on a daily basis. We have a Belkin 802.11n router which works fine for every other network device in my house. That includes 2 iPhones (3G, 3GS), Dell laptops x2, IBM laptop x1, Wii, network bridge, etc.
The lack of ANY kind of real insight is the most painful issue here. And no Apple, telling me to buy a new router is NOT a solution. Can you imagine if a company that makes a refrigerator told me that I needed to upgrade my electrical system to rectify a problem with their device? What kind of response IS that?!?!

And why not? Apple is selling these things like BigMacs. They can't make enough of them. You've been suffering since May because you refuse to get a decent router.

What if the problem with their device is that it requires a new-fangled "grounded" outlet and your circa 1890 house doesn't have grounded outlets. Would you refuse to purchase a $ 25 adapter on principle?

Does anyone have any idea when Apple will have one Global App store. In South Africa the apps available on the App Store are pathetic, eg. Angry Birds is not available to Iphone/ipad users here, however android users can purchase this app no problem.

If this continues, with the competition in the smart phone/android market, South Africans will start to can Apple devices due to the pathetic App Store for South Africa. The most popular games and Apps are not available here and until Apple get smart and make a Global Store for purchases not matter where you are in the world, Apple will continue to loose support. I have everything Apple, but am tired of the run around to try and buy good Apps.

It really isn't the fault of Apple. The developers of apps, the writers of music and of books all have copyright or exclusivity deals through agents in order to market their creations.
These arrangements are usually conducted on an individual national basis and as a result what would be allowed in one country is not allowed in another if that is what the agent wants.
Apple has to negotiate through this mire to get the best deal it can yet always accepting that many other interested parties want similar privileges.
So you can see, like politics, world wide agreements are just not possible.

As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.
