Solved problem by converting to another file format.
The two that worked were .mov and MP4 that is .H264

I copied several MOV files to a CD. When I play them from the CD the video is fine but the audio works fine for the first few seconds then stops (using Qicktime Player 7.7.1. Everything works fine if I use VLC Media Player. Does anyone have any idea why?
My purpose for copying to a CD or DVD is so that I can make copies and send to friends and relatives. What is the best way to get these files on a CD/DVD with the right codecs?
The easiest thing to do is to simply tell your friends and relatives to copy the files to their local hard drive before playing them. Your basic problem is that data discs have a limited real time transfer rate. Since you say VLC plays the files fine, I might suspect its player is likely buffering the data while the QT 7 Player is not.
Data discs made for playback directly from the CD or DVD are normally encoded using MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) video with AAC audio. This is a modern codec which has specific settings to re-package the data (i.e., must be encoded using the multipass option and then select the "optimize for CD/DVD" option). -

As long as your pad isn't doing other things,( and you have already shut off everything else..) then the issue is in the connection from you to whoever you are talking to. How good is your wifi speed? And the person at the other end. There are a lot of transfers of the signal from you to them, and you are sort of at the mercy of all the spots in between.
Do a speedtest to test your speed, and maybe give the call a try from a different place, like a Starbucks ( as long as their connection is not throttled) -
Exposé just stopped working, both the key on the keyboard and the multitouch gesture gets no response. Does anyone have any idea why, or how to solve it?
I found a way to fix it. Simply restart the dock by using "killall Dock" in the terminal.

Why do songs stop playing half way through?
My husband downloaded a new playlist to his iphone, but many of the songs end half way through and then go on to the next song. How can we fix this?

In my experience, the songs that are skipping may not have transferred over to your husband's iPhone correctly. I would advise you to uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to the iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from the iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

I have just been watching (The Adjustment Bureau) a rental movie and about half way through the audio cut out, I tried rerunning the chapter but still the same problem so I tried the restoring function and now I have lost the 48 hrs viewing of the movie. So how do I get the movie back without paying for it again and is this problem likely to reoccoure and if so how do I rest without loosing the movie?

This must be a glitch in the movie file on the iTunes server because my husband and I just reached the same point in he film (The Adjustment Bureau) and no audio! Totally cuts out and doesn't come back in. We tried the same - turned off, signed out, and also couldn't see the rental in the menu... Sign out, sign back in and click 'Check for rentals' in the 'General' menu just under where you signed in.
It may come up with a negative 'no more rentals can be found' or similar but go back to the main screen and check anyway. It should be there. -
HT4236 Not all photo albums i select are syncing. Anyone have an idea why?
Not all the albums I select are syncing. I go to Device > photos >select "selected albums" then choose the albums i want on my ipod touch then hit apply. when its "done" syncing I check my photos in the ipod and only two albums show up out of the 9 i've selected. And theres this stubborn album that won't go away. anyone know what the problem is? And its NOT a software update issue, ive updated it several times.

My ipod touch seems to have a few issues, however my pre-installed and updated imessage and facetime were literally working last night, and after a breif break to charge battery (the back of the ipod was SUPER HOT) wasn't able to do facetime or imessage, and am STILL NOT today, what gives?? Any suggestions and advice?.
Found the answer, at least for now! Thanks to roryjt, and having to search through tons of post on imessage and facetime issues! Changed the DNS on my ipod for my wireless network to 8.8.8.8 Not sure if it will work outside of my wireless network, but since its an ipod, not an iphone, I usually only use it in my place/on my network. Anyone have any ideas why i can no longer see my Airport express speaker in Airtunes?
for the last couple of days i no longer can see my itunes speaker from an old Airport Express (V 6.3) 802.11g. Airport Utility 5.6 still lets me set it up, so I can see it there. but for some reaason i can no longer see that speaker selection in itunes or any of my devices. Any ideas? Thanks.
