Anyone have these settings in their Quicktime? I got this tip from Worldstart.com this AM. I have this problem with I-Tunes when a song starts to play sometimes it stutters,skips. I tried to get QuickTime settings she tals about but I don't have them in Win QT 7.5

Every once in awhile, my iTunes music skips. It's fine when I'm listening to the music on my iPod, but if I'm just using my computer, it all skips. What's going on?

Okay, so we have established that iTunes is a great musical discovery, but it leaves much to be desired when it starts to skip. Nobody likes to listen to their music with a bunch of stutters in between, am I right?! So, let's look at some reasons why iTunes might be doing this to you.
You can use the task manager to shut down other programs to see if that stops the skipping, but that's not really too convenient for anyone.
A lot of times, the skipping problem lies within the QuickTime program that you need to have in order for iTunes to work. There are a couple settings you can change in QuickTime to combat the stuttering issue. To do this, make sure your iTunes is shut down and go to Start, Control Panel. Once in there, double click on the QuickTime icon. You must be in the classic Control Panel view for this to work.
(Tab is called QuickTime settings,I don't have in mine, only Preferences)
Once in there, use the drop down menu at the very top of the dialogue box and choose Sound Out. This will allow you to work within the sound output elements of your QuickTime.
(These also are tabs within QuickTime I don't have, and I have the very latest 7.5 QuickTime installed)
Now, under the choice that says "Choose a device for playback," use the drop down menu and select "waveOut." You can then just close the QuickTime window. You don't need to press OK or anything, just completely close it out.
Next, restart your iTunes and your skipping problem should be resolved. You can start listening to your music again, while doing your other work as well, without any further problems. Like I said before, you should try this little suggestion before you go out and get more RAM, but if the problem persists, that may be just what you'll have to do. Either way, it's worth it for your music, right?!

That site is either a bit inaccurate or describes an earlier version of QuickTime. Go to the QuickTime control panel, double-click on it to open it (it will indeed open QuickTime Preferences), click on the Audio tab, and check the box that says "Safe Mode (waveOut only)". That has in some cases cured the "stuttering".

Hi everyone,
I've recently updated my iphone 4s with the ios7 update and there was a bug fix I also downloaded recently but I hadn't noticed anything wrong at the time. I know it's not happened that often today but does anyone have any problems with their 'slide to unlock' button and have to reload their iphone again? Do you think there'll be a bug fix for it? Just worried as it's not old and I have a feeling I shouldn't have bothered with the update at all.Why would you think it's a bug? If it were a bug EVERYONE would be having the same issue.
Basics from the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. -
H264 - Can anyone beat these settings for quality ?
I am preparing a couple of projects for the web.
My task is to get my exported MOVs to the web guy in the best quality and then he can work with them and convert them to FLV.
I am using H264 (settings below).

You know Flash Player 9 supports H.264? No need to re-encode to flv, if you can avoid it. Depends if you want to support earlier versions of Flash Player.
I would strongly recommend doing some short tests before you start encoding everything. It will save you a lot of time doing some short 10-20 second tests (just set in/out points in the Compressor Preview window). I would maybe try setting the keyframe rate to Automatic too.

Web compression is all about testing to find the optimal settings for best possible quality/filesize ratio.
If you want the final result to end up as the best quality flv file, I would recommend encoding directly from your source to flv. Going through a heavily compressed long-GOP format like H.264, before encoding to an other heavily compressed format is not a good idea. You would want your video to go through as few generations as possible to maintain quality. -

Did anyone have issues with losing their ringtones when updating itunes?
I lost all my ringtones when I updated my itunes. which is not good because i cant redownload them. Anyone know what happened tried to restore old backup and they didn't restore that way either.

Anyone have these problems installing Photoshop CS6?
Aloha! Seems Photoshop CS6 has errors for camera profile installer 6.3 and 7.0. Error 145: Directory not empty.

Excellent point and since Adobe provides such a less than format I could
not cut and paste that info from the Adobe Photoshop CS6 error window to
the Adobe forum window. I figured maybe someone might eventually email me
so I cut and pasted the error window data to my gmail. That was possible
but somehow it is not possible on Adobe for the forum.

the time the Photoshop CS6 install was completed.

Enabling lens profiles immediately alters the photo but these steps failto appear in "History" more than half-the-time. Changing the sharpening amount works, but the new value is not displayed until a subsequent correct is made. Finally, I haven't found a way to generate 16-bit output. I certainly iss the box on the Export Page that let you tick this option.

Your hack may be why your battery icon doesn't show the correct charge. -
Anyone have any problems with their FlashHelp Project displaying in different font sizes?
I have created a Help Project with FlashHelp as the layout. All topics were created in the same font and font size. However, when this generated layout displays some topics appear in a much larger font. Also some topics are displaying with mixed font size. Any ideas on what is causing this?

The first usual suspect to check is to ensure your style sheet is properly attached and being used. Following that, double check to ensure there aren't any inline styles that may be overriding what the external or linked CSS specifies. I'd be doubtful that's the case, however, as it would seem that you are only noticing a difference in output. If you had inline styling you would see it on the source side as well.

Does anyone have a scratch on their Lumia 920?
I thought that the lumia 920 is supposed to have scratch resistant gorilla glass? Some how after 3 days of carrying the phone in a pocket there are scratches visible on the screen : ( Do I have a defective unit??? I'm very disappointed what should I do?
I feel like I have a lot of scratchs on mine from absentmindedly setting it down screen down. This has only happened twice and I can clearly see where the weight of the phone rests on the table/surface I set it on due to scratches in 2 bands about 1cm in from the long sides of the phone. This hasn't happened to me with any other phone because the glass wasn't near the highest surface on the front of the phone nor was it curved. I can really only see this small scratches with the screen off at an angle, or if I looks really hard since I am aware of them now.
I am ordering a screen protector so I hopefully wont have to baby my phone and always set it in a padded cradle to not get scratched. My Samsung Focus would get thrown across the room to couches and tossed to desks for the past two years with only minor scratches since it had raised edges around the screen preventing the glass from getting scratched by tiny pieces of dirt.
LESSON: never ever set your Nokia 920 face down on something since it may get micro scratches that will make you self conscious of your phone screen! -
I am having trouble connecting to my wireless network. It works when I startup my computer but, after a while it can't seem to find the wireless network. I have an Airport Extreme and the light is green. The only way to remedy this problem is to restart my computer. Mountain Lion isn't that great after all not to mention it distorts some images when scrolling. I am kindly asking for some advice, I assume a major update will be coming soon.
You don't by chance have a "invisible" or "hidden" network enabled on the router?
Because Mac's won't reconnect automatically now to hidden network only upon reboots, it's sort of like advertising the hidden network if you take the computer elsewhere.
Also hidden networks are no deterrent to hackers, they see all.
Also check your time and date, make sure they accurate first, then save that, then make sure it's updated via Apple time servers in your general location (System Preferences > Time and Date) If your being kicked off, your DCHP lease might be expiring too early.

I'm trying to get one for my dad for Christmas. I'd prefer to get one that is not over 500 dollars.That last one you linked is not a All in one like the others as its just a Home Theater in a Box and does not have a integrated blu-ray player like the others. Which actually makes that one my first pick as non integrated solutions provide for a little room for future expansion. however if you want the integrated solution I would go with the 780W as it provides 2 HDMI inputs and a Component Input vs just the 2 HDMI inputs of the 280 model.

Your hack may be why your battery icon doesn't show the correct charge. -
Does anyone have/use their docking stations?
I was wondering, does anyone have one, or use their docking stations? I just got one. It is brand new, and I like it. I have an A31,R51, and an R52. I love being able to dock them and use them as a "desktop".
Hi,
I had a dock with my X40 whose screen got broken during an accident, so only then I used it for a good amount of time as a desktop replacement while docked in the station and connected to an external monitor, I quite enjoyed that experience.
I would love to buy one for my T400 as well

"Collect Logs Button" available in Lync 2013 client?
