Anyone have trouble with ipod Nano earphone jacks stop working?

I have had 2 ipod Nano sice 2007 have earphone jacks that have sytopped working. My latest one was purchased in April 2010, and earphone jack stopped working 2 days ago. Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks!!

I have done some experimenting and testing with my old Classic iPod that uses operating system 3.1.1. I don't think this operating system has changed. However, later generation iPods such as nano, shuffle that use a different operating system seem to work absolutely perfectly in my 2010 Lincoln Navigator, especially the ones without a hard drive (i.e. flash drive). My conclusion is that the Ford SYNC updates have somehow not been backward compatible with the older operating system. I know this can be attributed to Apple for part of the problem but I suspect that Ford somehow did not do enough testing with the older iPod operating systems. Turns out there are probably 7 or more operating systems on iPods and while you would assume that "backward compatibility" is a no-brainer, that seems not to be the case with second party vendors such as Ford SYNC. Personally, I have given up trying to solve this problem and have gone to flash drive and a "line in" option. My old Classic iPod works exceptionally well, plus I have a spare so I can probably use these thing till "H freezes over". Being a older retired American these things may actually last a life time!

  • IPod Touch earphone jack stopped working.

The other day while traveling I was dumping some trash from my car into the trash can and actually dropped my iPod touch in. It was in there for about two minutes before I was able to find it and get it out. After cleaning it I turned it in and it worked fine. I plugged in my earphones and the left ear bud was not playing sound. I have to hold the bottom part of the earphones to the right in order to get sound to work in the left bud. I've checked the liquid indicator and, other than having some dirt on it it, was was white. So is there anything I can do to get the jack on the iPod? The earphones themselves work because I'm using them on my laptop.
    Any help will be appreciated.

I have poked around in it. I'm afraid if I poke anymore I'll screw something up and it will void my warranty.

  • Do you have trouble with iPod Classic and Ford's SYNC?

Anyone have trouble with Ford SYNC recognizing iPod Classic? When I first bought my Lincoln my iPod Classic worked perfectly--just like it should with Ford SYNC. But a few months ago, when I plug in the iPod using a USB cable I get the message on Ford Sync that says, "incompatible device". At first I thought it was a ford problem so I began testing using a 2010 Buick and a 2010 Lincoln Navigator. My iPod classic doesn't work in either. However, a iPod nano works perfectly in either car. Also if I put some of my music on a flash drive it works fine in the Lincoln. So, I'm convinced that the problem is some type of update that occurred to my iPod or to iTunes.
I have tried several iPod Classics and several USB cables so it is definitely aiPod Classic software problem. By the way, my iPod Classics work fine by themselves--just not through Ford's SYNC.
I'm pretty lost as to possible solutions.
    Thanks,

  • 5g ipod nano earphone jack doesn't work, but earphones are OK. Sound of music comes from ipod heard w/o earphone jack plugged in . How, where to fix jack?

6th g ipod nano earphone jack doesn't produce sound with earphones that work on another 6th ipod. fairly loud music sound heard from ipod w/ no earphone plugged in. Hoe and where to get it fixed?

I fixed my nano sound problem. Went to settings, hit center button, scrolled down to reset settings, hit center button, scrolled up to reset and hit center button. Walah,  Now earphone jack delivers sound to ear buds like before. AND yes the jack was always plugged in all the way. Simple problem, simple solution.

    Jon....
Don't confuse the threads here with 'typical' experience.  Most of the stuff here is from brand new users, and those that have problems, and considering the 30 million pads in use, represent a very small sliver.
If you are having repeated crashes it is really pretty basic.  You either have a physical problem with your pad, or you are using too much memory.
The iOS system is supposed to monitor memory, and shut down previously used apps automatically to free up memory for what you are doing now.  That part of ios is not perfect, and if an app introduces an unexpected memory load, sometimes it gets over whelmed.
This happens, more often than not, when using safari with multiple windows open on graphic intense sites.  It can also happen with a memory intensive game, and residual apps in the background.
Double  tap the home key and take a peek at the recently used list, and shut them down completely, and often the problem goes away.
If the problem persists, you may have a software issue, and a trip to the genius bar may be in order.

  • Is anyone have trouble with phone losing contacts?

IS ANYONE HAVE TROUBLE WITH IPHONE 4S LOSING CONTACTS?

I've figured it out. You must have added the mail account after that your contacts are not appearing. Goto contacts settings choose the default account 'iCloud'. If u wanna see your missing contacts then goto contacts then press 'groups' tab at the top left corner the select all groups. Your missing contacts re actually saved in one of email account you have added. In order to bring them to icloud you have to add them again after selecting icloud as default contacts account. I hope this would have solve your problem.

  • Today my iPhone 5c earphone jack stopped working, I don't have applecare  but my phone is only a month old. I was just wondering if I could still get it fixed at a reasonable price.

Your iPhone has a one year warranty even without buying AppleCare. As long as the problem wasn't caused by damage you caused (e.g. dropping, water, etc) it should be covered. The following may help: https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/

My New iPod nano 6g, just stop working the screen is freezd in the menu? Pleace HELP!!!

try resetting. Hold down volume down and sleep/wake button until you see apple logo.
If that does not work, connect it to itunes, then restore.
If none of that helps, you may need to contact apple. Has it gotten wet?

  • Anyone having trouble with iPod 1.2 update?

After going back from 7 to 6.05 (which I kept on another PC), I still find my iPod 5th gen. crashing occasionally when I play some podcasts. The fix has been to play a few moment from the podcast on the iPod through iTunes.
Everyone is bashing iTunes 7.0/7.01 - might there be a problem with iPod 1.2 upgrade too?

I don't have trouble with that.
But this might mean nothing, because I'm on a German version of InDesign CS6 v8.1.0 on Mac OSX 10.7.5.
    What I try to do:
    Change the preferences.
    Change the workspace.
    Restart your machine.
    Restart InDesign.
The preferences should be sticky then…

  • Anyone have trouble with a Mophie charger?

Anyone have trouble using a Mophie charger on the IPhone 4S? It works on friends phone but not mine. Any help/advice appreciated!

Thanks for the help!  I have submitted it to the TS!  It is really strange.  I have had two friends slip their phone right in and it works and mine does nothing, yet I can charge my phone with all my charger hook ups.  Let's hope the mystery gets solved!  Thanks again!

  • Anyone have trouble with IPad3 after installing OS6.1.3?  keeps crashing

Anyone having trouble with iPad3 after installing OS6.1.3?  Mine keeps crashing.

Mine seems to be just fine.
    Try a reset,
Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad  will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back.

  • Does anyone have trouble with aps closing unexpectedly

I have trouble with pinterest for one just shutting down while I am clicking on links to read any one else have this problem?

In the subject you mention "apps", but in your message you speak about only one app.
If there is only one single app that crashes, contact the developer of that app.
If you have many apps (even built-in apps) quitting unexpectedly, try a reset first: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If the reset doesn't fix it, try a restore:

How long have you left the iPod to charge? It can take up to 30 minutes before it shows any signs of life. Did you use the instructions in this article to properly reset the Shuffle?

  • Ipod nano 6th g stopped working

Ipod nano 6g doesn't work with ear phones.  Has to be plugged in, but doesn't need a charge.  Worked fine yesterday evening with earphones and works if it is plugged in to electrical outlet, but not otherwise.  Any thoughts?

If the iPod functions normally while plugged into an external power source of some sort (either USB port on your PC or Mac OR while plugged into a wall adapter), but doesn't when running on battery power, it's likely that the iPod's battery is shot.
You can have Apple or a third party repair center replace the battery for a flat fee. Otherwise, it's time to start saving for a new iPod or replacement.  If the iPod is under 1 year old, it may still be covered under Apple's 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects. In that case, make an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar and they should be able to swap it ou for you at no cost.
Otherwise, you can opt to pay for a battery replacement.  Here is pricing.
