No, I use Chrome daily with 10.9.1 and it is still very speedy.

Don't confuse the threads here with 'typical' experience. Most of the stuff here is from brand new users, and those that have problems, and considering the 30 million pads in use, represent a very small sliver.
If you are having repeated crashes it is really pretty basic. You either have a physical problem with your pad, or you are using too much memory.
The iOS system is supposed to monitor memory, and shut down previously used apps automatically to free up memory for what you are doing now. That part of ios is not perfect, and if an app introduces an unexpected memory load, sometimes it gets over whelmed.
This happens, more often than not, when using safari with multiple windows open on graphic intense sites. It can also happen with a memory intensive game, and residual apps in the background.
Double tap the home key and take a peek at the recently used list, and shut them down completely, and often the problem goes away.
If the problem persists, you may have a software issue, and a trip to the genius bar may be in order.

I've figured it out. You must have added the mail account after that your contacts are not appearing. Goto contacts settings choose the default account 'iCloud'. If u wanna see your missing contacts then goto contacts then press 'groups' tab at the top left corner the select all groups. Your missing contacts re actually saved in one of email account you have added. In order to bring them to icloud you have to add them again after selecting icloud as default contacts account. I hope this would have solve your problem.

Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference.If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.See Potential sources of wireless interference for more information about interference and solutions.
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router or ISP. In that case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.
If you have Mac OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion installed then I would recommend using Wireless Diagnostics tool which is on your computer already.

Does anyone have experience with using a Canon Vixia HF M52 Camcorder with Final Cut Express?

I'm looking to purchase a new camcorder that is compatible with my Mac OS X (10.6.8) that will work well with Final Cut Express 4.0.1 I have downloaded the camcorder support info from Final Cut Express that list many capital camcorders. I've used Sony tape based camcorders in the past. I'm looking for High Definition. I can stick with a tape based camcorder, but thought I would look at the Canon Vixia HF M52 as an alternative, which is listed as compatible. I would like to download directly from the camera to FCE. I film in the wilderness, like having an optical zoom of 20 or greater (yes, I use a small tripod). Does anyone have experience with the Canon Vixia? And if not, but you really like another camcorder that you can recommend, what is it?

The Vixia HF M52 is an AVCHD camcorder and should work perfectly fine with Final Cut Express 4 (4.0.1).
The published "camcorder support list" has never been up to date and I would not take it to be a definitive list of compatible camcorders.
One note, however, the Vixia HF M52 supports a number of different shooting modes. I suggest sticking with the AVCHD 1920 x 1080i / 60 fps mode for use with FCE. FCE does not support progressive modes except in 720p25/30 (which the M52 does not seem to shoot anyway); nor does FCE support any 24 fps modes.

Mine seems to be just fine.
Try a reset,
Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.

In the subject you mention "apps", but in your message you speak about only one app.
If there is only one single app that crashes, contact the developer of that app.
If you have many apps (even built-in apps) quitting unexpectedly, try a reset first: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If the reset doesn't fix it, try a restore:

Trouble with my time machine and macbook pro

I had my macbook pro's screen repaired because the it kept going black. It was not the video card, but a faulty screen. I just got it home and plugged my time machine into the computer. Now I can't browse any of my old backups on the time machine. It acts as if they were never there. Nothing except for what was just added to the time machine today is there. I live 2 hours away from the closest Apple store and my Apple care plan ended. I work as staff for a business and they need me to be able to browse the backups. The time machine was working perfectly before I had the computer repaired. Is it possible that they changed something on my computer so it doesn't reconize my files? Is there a way that I can change it back or fix this problem myself?
I just called Apple store and they told me that there is basically no way that I will be able to get access to my old files because they changed out something in my computer when they repaired the screen. If you know of any other way that I can still have access to these files let me know! On a PC you can plug an external into any computer and access files. My files are still on my Time Machine. I just can't access them. Please help me.

Does anyone have trouble with their Macbook Air Trackpad freezing?

I have had trouble in the past few days with my track pad. It freezes so that I can move the cursor but it does nothing on any of the buttons. It's just dead. Then for no apparent reason, it works again. It's driving me crazy. Ideas?

The MBA trackpad is the source of a lot of wierd problems and, IMHO, is the weakest aspect of the computer and compromises its usefulness. There appear to be multiple sources of the various problems; some are in hardware, others software, and yet others situational. Personally, I hate the **** thing and would trade it in a moment for a dumb 2-button, PC trackpad that at least didn't screw up unpredictably. At least that way, I would be able to concentrate on my work and not on the trackpad.
Anyway, to your post...
Some people have found it useful to disable all options on the trackpad using the System>Preferences>Trackpad, then power down (NOT restart). After it powers up again, set only those options that you actually use (the fewer the better).
From what I've read, if this helps, the help is temporary but can at least be repeated.

I' ve just upgraded my E71's Firmware, now i get in trouble with this FW. There are some problems:
1. My device always auto restart
2. When i'm charging my E71, sometimes, it appears a message " Simcard not available"
3. My E71 is full charging but after one day it need help with a message " low battery "

I don't get any of those problems and been running the 300 for many months.
What I suggest you do, is BACK UP YOUR PHONE BEFORE YOU start formatting and erasing!
Then, reset or reformat your phone as described by the previous poster, additionally it could be something in your backup thats causing the problem.
Second, instead of reformatting the handset you can reflash the SAME firmware to the handset again with NSU, there might have been a problem when it copied it into the flash memory (unlikely as it has a checksum) however you cannot rule that out.
If its having SIM card problems - it could be related to this:
/discussions/board/message?board.id=topfaq&thread.id=119 OK it says memory card, but could be a similar issue.
Additionally you could charge or get the battery from another phone and allow yours to discharge it to until the phone switches off.
I would at least reflash the firmware myself again, I have seen a difference with handsets when this is done. Why? I don't know.

Dr. Bott VGAtor - anyone have experience with using this?

I'm trying to connect my 12-inch powerbook to a 23-inch Cinema display and bought the VGAtor which is supposed to allow this combination to work. I can't get anything to show on the 23-inch display nor my powerbook to recognize that there is another display connected. I've downloaded what I think is a display driver from Dr. Bott's website but it just sits on my desktop; I don't know where I should put it if it is, in fact, a driver (when I "Get Info", it shows as a "Unix Exectuable File"). Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks for the input. I currently have a 17-inch Studio display connected to my Powerbook so I know it can run another monitor. I haven't tried connecting the new 23-inch display to a DVI-compatible (newer) computer; maybe I should try that next to ensure that monitor is working.
The person I bought the VGAtor from told me to make sure I downloaded the display driver from Dr. Bott; that's why I asked that question. There were two downloads: one of them allows me to fiddle around with the adjustments (VGAtor Control Center) and the other is called "Displays160.a43" I unstuffed that file after downloading even though it's fairly small.

Front Row trouble with new 15" 2.4 MacBook Pro

I just picked up a MacBook Pro last night. I was very excited, as I've wanted one for a while now, but when I tried to watch a dvd in Front Row a few strange things happened that I've never seen anyone post about on this board.
First, when I selected play from the DVD's menu, Front Row quit. I launched it again and everything seemed fine as the dvd was now playing, but then I noticed that the backlit keyboard would light up and turn off every minute or two. This went on for the whole time I was watching the disc... about a couple of hours... the keys would light up then they'd be unlit and then light up again.
Finally, while I was watching the dvd the screen went blank... there was still audio, but no picture to go along with it. After I touched the trackpad the video came back. This happened a couple of times.
I don't think it should matter, but I'll also mention that I was using the MacBook Pro on battery while all this happened.
So, has anyone else experienced these issues? I tried looking through all the posted topics, but couldn't find anything related to my experience with Front Row. I'm debating on whether I should exchange my MacBook Pro as I may just have a lemon.
If anyone has any advice/tips I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
