Anyone having problems getting CD covers to print after downloading latest software?

Lacking any responses to my initial post above, I will briefly update how I resolved this issue today.
Installed new external hard disc, 1 TB WD My Passport for Mac, and straightforward setup involving first installing current OS X operating system, then system migrator utility to rebuild the same setup as saved in latest Time Machine backup. The whole process was somewhat time consuming due to my internet connection speed and USB data transfer speeds but it went without any issues. The computer now boots up and operates identical in all respects to how it did before the problem occurred.
Regarding the internal HD of my iMac, if I now run Disc Utility to verify the disc, it reports "appears to be OK". However, viewing the disc usage in "About This Mac" window, it displays as entirely empty. Opening it in the finder also shows only a "Apple Hot News.mbox" file and a single .jpeg image, and .nothing else.
Interestingly, the Bootcamp partition of my iMac's internal HD continues to work fine and appears unaffected by the problem. I use bootcamp rarely but still will plan to set up a replacement bootcamp volume on the new hard disc soon, in order to take its place.
That the problem surfaced coincident with the software update may have been nothing more than bad luck? At this point I have no reason to suspect that the softward update had anything to do with the difficulties.

Is anyone having problems with the new Xerox printer driver update from Apple? My 8700S is no longer working with QuarkXPress.

I allowed a System Update that included a Xerox Printer update. I am running a MacPro 10.6.8 with Quark 8.5.1 and a Xerox ColorQube 8700S. EVERY was working perfectly before the "update" but afterwards anything sent to the printer from Quark would stall the printer. I went to the Xerox website and downloaded their Printer Driver and tried again. Now I could print from Quark but I can NOT get to the printer window to change the type of paper, etc. So, the problem still persists.
Should I try going into Time Machine and trying to find the Xerox Print Driver in the Library folder?
Should I upgrade the whole system software? (I wouldn't mind doing that AFTER I get this magazine off to the commerical printer)
Should I upgrade to Quark 9?
Any help here would be apprciated.

As a general rule of thumb, I never install updates until I read its info and I am having problems with my current software. I hide the updates until I need them. Usually this happens when I update or upgrade my os. I don't fix what ain't broken is my golden rule.
It is possible that you need to update or upgrade Quark in order for your newer printer driver to work. First I would try the following....
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.
If your printer does not work afterwards, update or upgrade Quark. If that does not work, contact the printer manufacturer.

Problem after downloading latest software update

Just downloaded the latest software update and it has totally fried my Z10. Can't turn it on, doesn't charge. Has anyone else had this problem?

Was the software update interupted at all? Was it a wireless update and was your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone connected to a power source during the update?
Do you see an LED light when you connect it to a power source and try removing and reinserting the battery again?

Anyone having problems getting Photoshop CC14 to work with Lightroom 5.5?

I installed Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom wouldn't export photos to it. Spent 3hours on the phone with Adobe support, they wiped all my Adobe apps without warning me and I lost all my presets. Was told higher level support would contact me - didn't happen. System still not fixed, even after an hour trying to get to the right person today. I've never had a problem installing before - anyone else having a similar issue? Who do I contact for better "customer service" (or does it exist)?

Thanks for your reply! I've installed PS many times (since version 3, I think), and nothing like this has ever happened. I use and teach PS and LR for a living. The tech person I spoke with told me it is not unusual to have this happen when upgrading to CC 2014.
What happened is that PS CC2014 would not open the image in PS if I used the Photo>Edit In>PS 2014 command unless I used Photo>Edit In>Open as Smart Object. Once opened as a smart object, PS would not save the file. I think it said Error 2.
The tech took control of my computer, removed PS and LR and all the associated files a few times. He told me I'd have to have a high level person help me, but they didn't call me, so I phoned in. After waiting an hour to get to the correct person (not a high level tech) he said he'd have to uninstall everything again and start over and that it would take over an hour. I don't have the time right now to fix it as I'm headed out of town until the end of the month to teach LR.
In the meantime, LR works, but I'm using a trial version that expires in 30 days. It exports to PS ok, but I had to reload all my plug-ins, and apparently LR can't find Photomatix. LR is not installed in my usual applications folder - the tech put it on my system backup drive.

Anyone having problems getting iBooks to download on new iPad?

The iBooks icon appears, but there is an empty bar below it, like the app hasn't loaded, or is paused.
I've restarted iPad, and everytime there are updates, iBooks is listed. But it never loads.
I get the message "Unable to Download Applications "iBooks" could not be downloaded at this time.
I see variations of this question, but none with my exact problem (that I can see).

Instead of using Safari to use mail, try using the built in Mail app. To access your AOL account, go to Settings->Mail->AOL.

I am certain too that it is possibly the 7.0.3 update. Have you tried restoring from backup? I am uncertain that might work but its worth a try.
If that doesn't work I suggest that you give feedback to Apple directly. The more about this problem, the quicker it will get resolved.

Anyone having problems re-installing itunes 9.3 after uninstalling 10.1 version

I have Windows XP Vista 32, and had problem with Applesyncnotifier not found error msg. The message suggested I uninstall the itunes version I had (10.1) and re-install, which I attempted to do. However, since I have Windows Vista Win32 bit, the 10.1 is not compatible and causes another error msg to pop up. So, I uninstalled 10 and re-installed itunes 9 on my PC. Now, I cannot open my itunes library and get the following error message. HELP!!
"The file itunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created in a newer version of itunes"
Please if anyone know how to get my Library to open, let me know.

Instead of trying to use an old version of iTunes, install the current version from http://apple.com/itunes/download.

It will only take a picture, I will not go to the other two settings. Any suggestions?

I always used firefox but after a recent upgrade of software it would no longer load the site There was a problem with connecting through my hub. I had to use ie which works OK. I'm sorry I cannot be more specific. Maybe I could try it again. I have 2 disk VAIO and load Firefox onto disc d - not c. Reason being c is very full and I try to download everything onto D which has stacks of room

I have just been having problems with my Canon MP250 printer and decided to uninstall and re-install the printer and everytime I try to re-install the printer trough preferences and all I keep getting was a message saying "preparing to queue"......

I then decided to try and reload the Canon printer drivers and for some silly reason I deleted the existing Canon printer drive. Now I cannot load them from the CD provided with the printer or from downloads through the Apple store. If anyone out there could help me I would be greatly appreciated......

These Canon printer/scanner drivers from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899 - should work. The MP250 is listed on the support page. Try downloading and installing them.

Same problem here with and I've done everything shy of a total reset which I also find unacceptable. This problem exists on all iMessage platforms (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) so I don't see how restoring my iPhone would help the problem.

I have had the same problem but I seem to be getting somewhere to fixing it!!! My battery was going down at 20% an an hour now its 10% with constant use and 5 in standby !!! So improvement all round
First I did a restore then I drained the battery i started to charge it and when it came on I turned the phone off completely and let it charge to 100% I then left it for a couple of hours on charge at 100. I saw no improvement after 1st drain so I repeated the drain battery and charge steps again with the phone turned off when charging and have seen a very big improvement. I am going to do it again tonight and hopefully problem solved!!!!
The next issue is iMessage as that's playing up and wifi drop out
