Anyone having trouble with the trackpad on their new Macbook Air?

I bought the new (2012) Macbook Air 2 days after they were released. I have been using a PC forever and was looking forward to this being the right time to switch over to the Mac. However, my trackpad doesnt work well at all and it is to the point where I want to return this thing. Once the mac notices I am moving my finger it tracks fine, but if I stop for 5 seconds and resume moving it, it will not pickup on the movement and I need to try many times before it starts tracking properly. This is most annoying and from my point of view makes this otherwise beautiful laptop unnacceptable. I have tried plugged and unplugged as I read this an issue in earlier mac airs, but it doesnt matter. It seems like there is a software interrupt that is not a high enough priority and the computer get's busy about something else and forgets about the trackpad.

Turned out the hardware was bad. Apple exchanged it for a new Mac Air and the new trackpad works great. Thank goodness it was a defect. If the trackpads all worked like that I would have been bummed.

Not to worry, you're not the first to expect Print to finish by returning you to the edit mode. The thing is that Printing is so hit and miss with this version of the app, you will probably want to stay in the Print window for more than one attempt.

Is anyone having trouble with the cursor jumping around while typing since you installed Lion? Never had any problems of that sort prior to Lion. I have an older machine. I believe it is a 2008 MacBook Pro. Especially happens with Yahoo. I am baffled.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

is anyone having trouble with the keyboard sensitivity on the iphone? I am typing, but can sometimes get a delay of 5 seconds or more before the letters actually appear on the screen.
This is across all apps.
Does not seem to be an issue with opening apps or scrolling etc., but only with the keyboard.

You need to restart with the Option key held down, boot from the computer's original thumbdrive(if any) or the recovery partition(10.7+), and erase the drive from there.

You mustn't. Apart from the fact that OS X doesn't need an antivirus (OS X has got its own security systems), commercial antiviruses like Kaspersky can do more harm than something good for your Mac. See > http://www.reedcorner.net/mmg

Anyone having trouble using the Singing Santa app. It worked for me last Christmas. Can't get it to process video this Christmas. I've deleted the app and downloaded it again, but I am having the same problem.

Have you tried turning your iPod off, then back on? Or a reset, press and hold both the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, about 15 seconds+/-, then release both buttons. If still no joy, try going into Settings>General>Reset tap tap Reset All Settings. If problem continues connect to your computer, make backups of the stuff on your iPod to your computer, then Restore from backup, if still not working Restore to New. then reinstall your stuff. If restore to new does not correct you may have a hardware issue, contact your Apple store or Apple Genius Bar, make an appointment and have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

You will not belive how I accidently solved this - !!!
Yes I had the problem immediately after the 5.1.1 'cloud' upgrade, the problems started (on my iphone 4) ... I followed the 'get power down button, then hold HOME for 30 secs' solution, but no result, nothing seemed to work and I was starting to get a bit agressive with the keep it pushed, multiple double click frustrations, icopybot multigesture solutions etc. and paid money ... but this comedy solution now works ...
I discovered it because I ordered a waterproof case for my iphone for my motorcycle ... I've just fitted it to my iphone and all the problems have gone ??? what! ... so wondering why I looked at what the home button on the casing was doing - it was pressing ACROSS the home button i.e. it converted my finger point into a wider 'PRESS
so taking the new case off, instead of using the point of my thumb to press HOME, I used the flat of my thumb to emulate it ....and initially nothing, so I wondered if it wa making better 'cross button' contacts, so I licked my thumb, wiped it and then tried again! - it worked!
I can't explain it but it seems to work - try it! if the double click on HOME doesn't work lick your thumb dry it and try again! I've just done it again

I haven't but try resetting...
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart your iPad.
No data will be lost as a result of a reset.

Having trouble with the trackpad on my Lenovo X201

I'm trying ot get Arch set up on my new Lenovo X201 thinkpad and I've got as far as getting X up and running. However, I'm having some problems with the trackpad.
First of all the mouse pointer is a little crazy, leaps all over the screen and is very difficult to control - any ideas on how to improve on that? Also, I've tried following various wiki examples of how to get things working (in particular using the right side of the pad for vertical scrolling) and I'm not having much luck there...
Any advice?

Anyone having trouble with this phone and their in car bluetooth? Calls dropping not recognizing the device. Had the car bluetooth reset at dealer. They said it is a common problem with the iPhone?

Bluetooth in car is not recognizing my device and when it does it will only stay connected about 5 minutes. Blue tooth has been reset at the dealer. They said it is very common with the iPhone? The car is a 2014 Toyota Highlander. This is very very frustrating as I have a 45 minute commute to work and do not want to have to hold my phone.... Thank you for any help.

Wow you would think the newer car is just an updated version of what your husbands has.
I wonder if your husbands car was updated to the same connect system if his would not connect?
Does your husbands phone work because he does not have the new iOS from Apple?

Anyone having trouble with the snooze function for the alarm? ...after update.

I've been using my phone as an alarm clock lately and after the latest firmware update I can't get the snooze to work on the alarm. The alarm goes off like it should and I select "snooze" with the ring but the alarm never goes off again. I was almost late to work the first time it did it.
Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this. I have to say, I am not impressed with the latest "update" at all and have spent WAY too much time trying to get things to work again. If it wasn't a company issued phone I would've dropped the service long ago (no service at my desk at work or at home).

Try going into settings, apps and then manage apps. At the top scroll over and make sure all is selected. Scroll down and find the alarm app and tap on it. If clear data is populated then tap on it. After that tap on force close...you will get a warning but just press ok. If clear data is grayed out at least try force stop. Set your alarm back up and see if that works.

Having trouble with Boot Camp/Parallels on new macbook

I just recently purchased a new macbook last week.
I first tried installing Windows via bootcamp, Everything worked fine until I inserted the XP disk and it started the installtion, after loading all the files it would tell me _.sys (different file every time) was missing or corrupt and I never got anywhere.
I then tried parallels and it got through 40% of the first install no problem, then stopped several times telling me a certain file was missing or something with options to retry or skip, retried everytime to finish installation, but after that after I get windows xp loading screen just got the Blue Screen of death and it crashed.
I don't think the problem is the disk since last week my HD crashed and I installed XP on my PC no problem. Disk is Windows XP Media Center OEM, 2 setup disks and one for SP2

I had similar problems with Win XP intallation. If you got extra RAM, remove it before installing Win XP.

Is Anyone Having Trouble with the latest Liquid Mix driver and Logic 8?

I'm having a host of problems with my Liquid Mix and Logic (also Digital Performer too.. but that's another forum :0) ). I experience a great deal of latency and flanging when using two instances of it on a channel. How is it for everyone else?

First, contact Focusrite and make them aware of your LM/Logic problems. I'm communicating with a rep who said he wasn't aware of any issues with LM and Logic.
Next, I speculate the latest driver of the Version 2 software can't live up to it's claims of variable latency. When I follow the minimum latency of 1032 for the LM manager (as posted on their support site), LM and Logic behave well. The problem for me is I never use 512 in Logic.
