Anyone heard of a Nike + iPod Remote?

I've just read the manual to the Nike + iPod kit, and i'm a little confused by this:
Using a Nike + iPod Remote
You can use a Nike+ compatible remote (sold separately) to control Nike + iPod
wirelessly while you work out. Before using a remote, you have to link the receiver to it.
To link to a remote:
1 Connect the receiver to an iPod.
2 Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote > Link and follow the onscreen instructions.
To turn remote functionality on or off:
Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote and set Remote Commands to On or Off.
To unlink a remote:
Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote > Unlink and follow the onscreen instructions.
I can't find any remote, that is working with the Nike + iPod kit, can You?

Perhaps the Nike+ manual is referring to this.

  • Does anyone know if the Nike+iPod kit works with the new 2G Nano?

The reason I ask is that Gizmodo says the bottom dock attachment is offset on the 2G Nano.

I can confirm that you have a good ipod nano with a "bad" firmware.
EACH TIME I use my 2Gb ipod with the sport kit it freezes ! Without sport kit..no problem at all !
My ipod nano with firmware 1.1.1. freezes when:
    - I press the end session button after a long session (in this case it maintains the training also after the reset). with short sessions..no problem.
    - If I forget to not set the hold button during session, the armband "press" without control some combination of buttons which freezes the ipod (session lost after reset)
    - If I press /<< button instead of menu to return to the previous screen at the end of the session. (session lost after reset)
    - Without receiver inserted I have pressed to activate sport kit - ipod require the receiver - I have pressed to return to the previous screen and ipod freezes.
Why Apple doesn't insert a "timerized autosave data sessions" to avoid to loose sessions in case of freezing and reset ?
    Best Regards

  • Menu option: Nike+iPod Settings Remote Link. Missing on 1st Gen Nano

    Hi,
    Really confused here.
In the Nike + iPod manual section, 'Using a Nike + iPod Remote' its stated i need to:
    - Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote > Link and follow the onscreen instructions.
I dont have 'Remote' option on the 'Settings' menu.
I'm on iTunes 7.7.0.43 (Vista) with Nano software 1.3.1
Trying to connect an Nike + Amp watch to the Nano.

I just took another look at this and figured out what i was doing wrong.
In the event someone else is acting as dumb as me:
    - To get the Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote menu to appear on your iPod Nano. You need to be pressing Play / Pause on the Remote device, while the Nano is on the Nike+iPod > Settings menu. The Remote menu then auto-magically appears.
    - Pressing Play / Pause on the Nano is not the thing to be doing to make the remote menu appear.
    Yeah i feel dumb.
But in my defence the manual doesnt specify the Play / Pause button to be pushing; the one on the Nano or the Remote.
    Happy running!

  • IPod Remote Issue

Does anyone else who has a iPod remote have to press the menu on the ipod button 2 times if wanting to goto another playlist or another iPod function??

Hmmm, good question. Its at home right now and I'm at work... I want to say that it is a flat receiver. I bought it with the iPod Touch, it came with about 8 different plastic pieces to fit a few different iPods, and it doesn't have the S-video connector in the back... just an audio out, and the same dock connector slot in the back which is hooked up to my component cable. It works with both my iPod Touch and iPhone 3G, it displays tv shows and movies perfectly on my tv, but it won't jump back and forth in my play list. I think I've got 3 or 4 different remotes lying around; I assumed that they were all the same, but is it possible that the remote that came with the dock is different than the remotes that came with the Mac Mini, MacBook, and MacBook Pro?

  • Remote for Nike+ Ipod touch

There is an option on the Nike+ Ipod settings for a remote, and I would not mind skipping the odd track without having to fumble around while running ...
does anyone know who makes these remotes ?
    Matt

The Nike+ Amp Remote - its a watch made by nike that you connect to your touch NB: It only seems to work while the Nike application is running.
I have used the watch on a ipod nano 3G (with sensor) and this works all the time irrespective of the application running

  • Has anyone heard of an ipod warping and the screen on the inside shattering?

i left my ipod in the car to charge on my car charger and it wasn't very hot last night but when i tried to listen to it this morning my ipod would only give me a white screen and it was warped into a v and the screen on the inside looked shattered but the outside plastic was fine...has anyone heard of the ipod nano doing this?

Yep I have one bought as a Xmas gift and warped as well and had it in a Griffen Survivor case.  Brought it in and the would not honor their Warranty. If people make enough noise and there are enought reports on this we might get somewhere but til then your stuck with a broken IPod.

  • Apple Nike + iPod Watch Remote discontinued...what gives?

I went to order an Apple Nike + WatchRemote for my new Nike + iPod Sport Kit today from the Apple Store only to find out that they've been discontinued. What's the story? Is a replacement forthcoming, or are we now SOL if we want to use a remote with our Nike + gear?

Awkward this, isn't it? I'm also sorely tempted by the WatchRemote, but I see that the UK version of the Nike website no longer has them available. Apple's UK website does have the grey ones still in stock, but Apple US appears to have removed them entirely.
I'm unsure whether to snap one up whilst they're still being sold by just a few places ... or to hold back in case an updated version is on its way!

  • Nike +ipod playlists not playing complete playlist

Is anyone having issues with using the Nike +ipod for specific playlists. I have my favorite playlist for running and it's skipping songs and I can't get to specific songs that I like. The first time I used it it worked and played all the songs...now I play it and it randomly skips songs and I can't go back to get the song. Any insite would be great.

Myabe obvious, but do you have the Shuffle option turned on under the top-level Settings menu?

  • My iPod touch Nike ipod sensor is not working. Please help.

My iPod touch Nike ipod sensor is not working. Please help. I even walked around when it asked me to. Also I have latest version of iOS. PLease help

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem!  I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes.  I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option.  The songs are syncing!  And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now!  Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem.  There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

  • Why does my nike   ipod not record mileage?

Can anyone tell me why my Nike+ipod doesn't register mileage on the app?  It records time and pace but NO mileage.

Don't know.  You've given way to much data for anyone here to even begin to figure it out.

  • Nike+iPod icon won't add. Nano 6th Gen.

The Nike+iPod icon doesn't add to the menu when I select it in the general settings menu. I have a brand new 6th gen iPod Nano, so there's nothing for me to plug into the iPod. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Hey there,
I would see this Apple support document explaining how to add and delete playlists from your iPod. It will probably do a better job of explaining things than I can. Hope it helps.

  • Nike + iPod WatchRemote issues

I have the new iPhone 3GS.
I have the Nike + iPod WatchRemote.
I DO NOT have the Nike + iPod Sensor.
I am able to link the WatchRemote to my iPhone 3GS just fine.
I have turned on the Nike + iPod feature and am able to navigate to the application icon and open the app.
HOWEVER, I can't seem to be able to control music with it!
I press the play/pause/next/previous buttons and they do nothing!
While in the Nike + iPod application, I can't launch a workout b/c I do not have the sensor. Could it be this is preventing me from controlling the music?
I would have expected to be able to just use the WatchRemote to control the music without having to be doing a work out or anything.
Is there something I am missing? Has anyone else been able to get this working?

this is from nike website the link is http://store.nike.com/index.jsp?country=US&langlocale=enUS&l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-218268
Nike+ is designed for athletes who like to run with music and who want to measure and monitor their progress toward their goals. To get instant workout feedback, you’ll need Nike+ ready shoes and either a Nike+ SportBand or an iPod® nano and Nike + iPod Sport Kit (which includes a sensor and iPod nano receiver).
When placed under the sockliner of the left Nike+ ready shoe, the sensor measures your pace, distance, time elapsed and calories burned. This information is transmitted wirelessly to the receiver for real-time audio feedback while you listen to your favorite workout music. Learn more.

  • Has anyone heard of having a virus on your network that prevents the uninstallation and installation of iTunes??

Has anyone heard of a virus on a network that prevents the uninstallation and installation of iTunes thereby preventing use of any apple product such as iPhone and iPod classic?

    To Turing test 2
Here is the exact wording - I took pictures with iPhone but cannot download them.
'The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile devices was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes try to repair this for you?' Yes
'The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile devices could not be repaired. Please reinstall iTunes if you wish to use these devices' OK
'The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2324'
Then the loading bar moves backwards.
The weird thing is this happens on my Dell laptop which only last week was wiped and everything rebooted and reinstalled. This PC problem was happening though before the laptop problem.........
