i'm trying to download a software program that copies files from ipod to computer for free, but unfortunately every site i visit only has trial version, and requires at least 20 dollars. any advice?

The usual reference for TV recording is Eye-TV by Elgato Systems LLC, rather expensive.
I bought on sale a Pinnacle coax TV-to-USB adapter and it works with an hour buffer of whatever was playing--not tested that long. But the included software does not provide recordings and it is only for digital (ATSC) television. I'm sure that simplifies the chip to not deal with analog-to-digital converters. I don't think Mexico has switched from NTSC.

The only way to get songs on an iPhone is by synching the songs from your iTunes library, or purchasing them from the iTunes store on your phone.
You can search yourself for sites that offer free music.

Recommended antivirus and antimalware software for MaC

My computer is hanging up way to frequently and I think it is either a virus or lots of malware operating in the background. Does anyone know of a good Antivirus and Antimalware software for the MacBook Pro. mine is 4 years old and just updated the operating systerm OSX 10.8.5.

I agree that there would not be a virus causing the slow down, hackers can't be bothered to create a virus for a Mac, it is really hard to do and Apple only have 5% of the market/users.

Suggestions
-Full backup of your data(time machine) and then an erase and reinstall of the operating system. Then only return applications that you use and files that you need.
-Add more RAM, this will speed up your applications and startup time etc.
-Your hard drive may be reaching the end of its life, so replace it if you can.
Apple stores will do the erase and install of the operating system for you (free) and replace the hard drive if need be(not free). They are also good for a tune up(free). Are you close to one?
What are the specs of your computer (about my mac) serial number is better. This will tell me if you can get more RAM.

You can purchase Office 2004 Student and Teacher edition from Amazon for about $115. Very cheap, and there is no verification required to show that you are a student or teacher.

Powerpoint interactive annotation and commentary software for OS X

Does anyone know of a software package that allows you to annotate or draw over a powerpoint presentation being shown on a Macbook Air or Mac computer running OS X ?
I've found some for iPad but they aren't produced for notebooks or require an intractive whiteboard, and I know that ppts can be shown on an iPad but to do that I need to purchase an additional license - and an iPad. I also want to run animations within the ppt and on other non mac tablets I've tried this has proven difficult as the animations aren't smooth enough.

Hollywood Studios will use render farms to render just a few frames. In terms of iDVD, the only thing that can decrease your rendering time is by getting a faster processor. After that, you could use DVDSP and multiple computers to create your own networked rendering or purchase specific hardware for the MacPro for MPEG encoding. And these rendering cards start at $2,000 last I looked.

It is not too difficult in Illustrator.
Presuming the values are the side lengths, you may turn on the Smart Guides and:
1) Create a circle with its centre at X=Y=0 and with its radius equalling the first side length;
2) Create another circle with its centre at X equalling the second side length and Y = 0, and with its radius equalling the third side length;
3) With the Pen Tool click at the centres of the circles (Smart Guides say centre), then at one of the intersections of the circles (Smart Guides say intersect), then back at the first centre;
4) Delete the circles, and if needed Object>Transform>Rotate/Reflect/Move/whatever for the right orientation/position.
Obviously, you may use any order of the predefined sidelengths from the beginning.

Does anyone know the default size for 24 in. imac display?

I inadverently changed the display size on my 24 inch imac. The font in the toolbar at the top of the desktop is larger than I want. Also, when I open windows in different applications, they open larger than the display and have to be downsized in order to see the entire window.
Does anyone know the default size for this display? Or is there a different way to fix my issues?

Hi Napamike2: The default setting for the 24" is 1920X1200. If that doesn't get you back to the proper display, maybe you have accidentally activated "Zoom". To check go to System Preferences, Universal Access. Check that Zoom is turned off.

Here are some basics....
FMLE creates RTMP protocol streams that PCs and Macs watch with Flash players. iOS devices don't understand RTMP (Flash), only HLS delivery of 10 second chuncks of downloaded video playback. Both systems understand H.264 video, but iOS wants to see AAC audio not MP3.
You didn't state how you are live streaming, meaning what bandwidth delivery service you are using. Live streaming only via RTMP won't get you to successful iPad and iPhone HTTP Live Stream. On-demand delivery to iOS devices normally requires .mp4 video files to be hosted, which Macs and PCs also understand via RTMP delivery. But unless your delivery service can convert .f4v or .flv files to .mp4 on the fly there is no easy way to to get to iOS via the direct file output of FMLE as of today. Sometimes we upload live encoded project files to our www.Wistia.com account for PC, Mac and iOS delivery. This is a YouTube / Vimeo paid type hosting service for on-demand only.
Some commercial CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) today allow an inbound live RTMP into their system using FMLE. Then they re-mux that RTMP stream into HLS delivery for iOS. Some work well using the native MP3 audio codec (Internap), but most require FMLE to have the AAC audio codec installed from Main Concept for $200. Or people use Wirecast from Telestream which is $500 per license to be able to run two instances on that one license.
In my 15 years of being a big commercial webcaster here in Silcion Valley, I have yet to find the perfect simple and easy and affordable RTMP to HLS live and on-demand delivery system. We currently do it different ways with multiple providers depending on the job. More offerings are coming out now and we try them all as they come down the pike.

Outlook 2007 doesn't show the icloud service running in Windows 7 within outlook. Does anyone know what the dll for this service is so it can be manually added to outlook? I've installed the icloud control panel app and set it up to synch everything, but after initially downloading my icloud calendar, it won't process any calendar updates (new entries made on either iphone 4 on ios 5 or outlook).
So since the control panel installed, but the service doesn't show running in outlooks "trust center" add-ins list, anyone know the actual dll file it would point to so I can see if I can add it the hard way?

I had the same issue and figured it out. First you have to start Outook as administrator. To do this, shift and right-click on outlook and click run as administrator. Next you need to enable Hard-disabled add-ins:

Hard disabling can occur when an add-in causes the application to close unexpectedly. It might also occur on your development computer if you stop the debugger while the Startup event handler in your add-in is executing.
To re-enable an add-in
In the application, click the File tab.
Click the ApplicationName Options button.
In the categories pane, click Add-ins.
In the details pane, verify that the add-in appears in the Disabled Application Add-ins list. The Name column specifies the name of the assembly, and the Location column specifies the full path of the application manifest.
In the Manage box, click Disabled Items, and then click Go.
Select the add-in and click Enable.
Click Close.
Then you need to activate it.
To re-enable an add-in
In the application, click the File tab.
Click the ApplicationName Options button.
In the categories pane, click Add-ins.
