Anyone know how to fix a stuck sleep/wake button on the IPOD Touch?

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

Suddenly, the sleep/wake button on my iPhone 5 is almost always unresponsive. I want to avoid doing a restore if I can. In addition, my volume down button doesn't work often, either.
I swear, I'm nice to my phone! It has always had a shock-absorbing case and has never been exposed to water. Bought it in December, problems started in May. I'm annoyed.
Anyone have any solutions? I'm nowhere near an Apple Store and I need my phone for work. TIA.

Close All Open Apps... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )

Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use.

I have downloaded songs and when I play them they stop playing. I have to hit the sleep/wake button for the ipod to come on and hit play, then the song will continue playing where it left off

Why are songs cutting out in the middle and my ipod shutting down?I have to hit the sleep/wake button to turn it back on and hit play again. Then, the songs will play from where it left off.

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Turn off iMessage on the old iPhone.
Restore the iPhone as new.
Have the other iPhone users delete the current message thread, and start a new messae to you.
Have the other iPhone users delete your contact, then re-add it.
Go to ww.icloud.com and remove the device from your Find My iPhone.
Go to appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and/or password.
Contact Apple Support at getsupport.apple.com for further assistance if these steps don't work.
Wait about 30 days for the iMessage server to self-correct the issue.

I'm using the iPod with video, and I've had it for about a year now. Two days ago, it wouldn't let me turn it off. The only way to have it shut down is to set the sleep timer and have the time run out. Holding down the play button doesn't work at all, so I'm stuck. Anyone know how to fix this?

plug your iPod back in (if you haven't done that already) and let yet do it's thing and then eject it from iTunes and also remove it safely from the computer (that lil' icon on the windows taskbar )... should work after that. That's what I did when the same thing happened to me

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
