Anyone know how to keep accounts offline in Mac Mail?

Hi,
I use Mac Mail for business and personal accounts. I'm trying to prevent myself from getting distrated with personal email while I'm working, but I want to be able to recieve emails to my business account. So I take my personal accounts offline, and just keep my business account online when I'm working. But the problem is if I click the Get Mail button it takes all my accounts back online. Anyone know, is this a bug or is there some way around this? I can click on the mail box and select Syncronize account, but would be easier if I could just click the Get Mail btn without taking all the accounts online....

I can't find that option in Mac Mail's editor. You can use a more feature rich editor like OpenOffice or Pages to create your message. Then copy/paste into mail.

How can I keep just one of two accounts offline in Mac Mail?

I recently switched from Comcast to Cox Cable. Cox has a known issue with push notifications and email doesn't show up at regular intervals. You have to go offline and back on or quit Mail and then open it again to see new messages. It's a pain but it works.
I still have my Comcast email account enabled on Mac Mail because I need access to old emails and if I disable it (via Preferences), it disappears. I want to take it offline but clicking on the Comcast account and "take comcast.net offline" always takes my Cox account offline as well. I can't get them to both stay online because the Comcast account hangs when it can't connect to Comcast. This really exacerbates the already annoying issue of having to take Cox offline and back on.
I tried going into the Comcast account via Preferences and unchecking "include when automatically checking for new messages" but when I did so, it kept the Cox account from receiving any messages at all (I confirmed this by checking webmail, and by toggling it on and off to see what happened).
I need some solution that allows me to see the comcast account in mail without having it be active in any way. I have other mailboxes archived but that process doesn't offer the search capability that I need.

Aha! I have been doing just that. However, what has been tripping me up is that I am also used to clicking the Go Online/Go Offline toggle button on the top menu bar when I manually check for messages on Cox. Apparently when you take one inbox offline, that button switches to Off even though the other inbox is still online. If I just ignore that button and go on or off via the cox mailbox listing, it keeps comcast from being reactivated.

Edited to add: I removed that dang button from my menu so I can stop clicking it.

Does anyone know how to keep all songs in the same album when they say featuring someone?

Each time I load a CD onto Itunes that has an artist who features another artist on that particular song, it puts it in my library as a separate CD even though it will have the same album listed. For instance Lady Gaga's song just dance features Colby O'Donnis that song is in its own spot while the rest of the cd is together that one song is separate and I don't know how to keep them all together. Someone help.

Get the Informations for that song and have a look in the "Sorting" area if there is something different. The data inserted there is just for how iTunes will order the songs.
If the Interpret in the general informations is "Lady Gaga" and in the sorting area is "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx" than you'll see Lady Gaga as the interpret but it's sort to a second entry "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx".

I grew up using word perfect and it always, at first, had non printing character on the screen. Anyone know how to turn on nonprinting characters in text edit? non printig characters are dots for spaces, an arrow for a tab, and much more.

A .torrent file is just like a URL. It is used with a torrent downloader like Transmission to download an actual file.

It's Sad.
Groups are, in my opinion, the best feature of .mac account.
Project, club, private site of people... great things.
It's why I have payed for this account.
But if you can't use the integration of mac to build up information
it's very useless and to me it doesn't appear too professional
from apple to cut off this feature.
My fault, I haven't seen this particular information.

Anyone know how to keep a child Process from closing when the main Applicaiton is closed

I have a Web based application that needs to use an older version of Java to run it properly . I have been able to sequence this and use a shortcut to call on Iexplorer.exe to open the browser in bubble and have the old version of Java run in the
same bubble. This part is working as needed but the issue I have ran into is when a end user opens up a word document from a link and "check's it out" to modify it and closes the browser it immediately closes the word document along
with it. So the Question I have, Is there a way to keep a child process open when the main Application is closed . Anyone run into anything similar or any documentation on a way to keep the process alive until the end user closes it?

I don't believe there is a way to handle this currently within App-V...Other virtualization products do have the ability to exclude processes and force to run outside or the bubble or exclude them from terminating on shutdown.

Anyone know how to keep InDesign from locking and dragging?

I am making a 320 page book and in the midst of making master pages. Some of the files are large, but it started dragging and locking up. It's moving very slow if it moves at all. ANy pointers as to how I can get this moving faster?

Fully patched means you've installed the latest updates through the help menu or the CC desktop app. I think you are probably wasting a lot of effort making a master page for each chapter. You should be able to set up a single "Chapter Start" master page and enter the chapter number in the document in any number of ways, including just typing it, or using a numbered list for the style and entering the word Chapter in the numbering prefix. You can pick up the chapter title in a running header using a variable. (Of course these things require that there be live text on the pages, not placed .ai files).

Does anyone know how to keep iPad Notes without losing them?

I have entered various Notes, they do appear in the list immediately after, but when I return to iPad notes after some time, I find that they are gone. The only Notes that have persisted are the very firs two that I created. All others appear transiently when I return to notes, but disappear in front of my eyes, leaving me with a blank new note. Is there a workaround for this bug?

Does anyone know how to keep the display asleep when appletv is streaming? I have disabled all sharing features.

My IMac display turns on now that I have lion when I stream appletv to my TV. I have shut off all sharing and wakeup features. I do not sleep the computer, just the display which turns on while streaming which is annoying!

Same problem here. Just bought my iMac and never used Leopard, but with Lion the display seems to stay awake when streaming to my ATV2. Since my machine is brand new, I am going to call Apple to see if I am missing something in settings that will solve it.

The problem with mail is it uses a huge amount of broadband. Also takes up a lot of disk space. Thats why I use icloud mail. On both my imac and laptop I would be using double the broadband.
Sounds like there is no way to download several attachments at once on icloud mail?
