Anyone know how to setup SquirrelMail in Apple Mail program
I am helping someone set up a new MBP and iMac. His office uses something called SquirrelMail, and currently he is able to access this on his Windows laptop at home or in his office. His business has its own domain name. I tried using the incoming/outgoing settings on his PC, but cannot access his mail using Apple Mail. Can anyone advise what the settings would be for Apple mail? Port number, authentication settings, etc. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I know that he can access the mail through the web, but currently has been using Outlook on his HP laptop to send/read mail and would like to use Apple Mail or perhaps Entourage on his new macs. I looked at the settings in Outlook on his HP laptop and have the names of the incoming and outgoing mail servers that he uses there. I am thinking the problem may be with the port number or authentication settings.
Anything else you can advise? Thanks.

As far as I know they can't be deleted, just remove any personal info from it (credit card details etc) and stop using it.
If you downloaded any content via it then you will need to remember it and it's password, as content is tied to the account that bought/downloaded it, so if you move to a new computer you'll need to authorise the account on it if you want to use any of its content there (or if you bought apps with it you'll only be able to download updates to them via that account) -

Tap the current Apple ID then click Sign Out.

Does anyone know how to change where incoming (via mail) calendar requests go on my MacBook? Mine insist on going to Entourage, which I don't use any more. I've tried setting the default calendar in iCal preferences. Doesn't help. Bugs me. Can you help?

The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter? -

ThanksI think the problem is the fact that the emails are on a PPC G5 and in a completely different format that your main iMac (you're on Lion?). There is even a problem between SL and Lion; I just spent hours dragging individual mailboxes from a Lion machine to an SL machine. They wound up in the Import section. And, I just tried it: after you manually put the mailboxes in the appropriate spot and you've rebuilt each mailbox once it appears in Mail, I was able to drag an email from an Import mailbox to my Inbox. But, as I said that was between SL and Lion; don't know if that would work with 10.4 (?) and Lion.

When we first got our new iMac we were able to send e-mail through Safari - somewhere in the last 2-3 years it stopped and we got the failure to deliver message. We then sent e-mails through Mail - it works well and we have gotten used to doing this. However, every once in a while I retry send e-mails through Safari and we still get the failure to deliver notice. This has also happened when we try to forward some e-mails we receive (not all; most get forwarded).

While setting up new iPhone 4S, I mistakenly mistyped my Apple ID (email address) so when I go to app store, that incorrect account is revealed. Trying to figure out how to change the Apple ID on the iPhone 4S to correct info. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance for you help.
It is most unlikely your replacement is anything other than new
Refurbs are recycled through the Apple supplier's Factories
I doubt that there has been time for that process and has already been mentioned early failures
are probably checked out thoroughly before being recycled
In any event you would never know the difference between new and a refurb
I have had x2 in past and certainly could not
depending on your consuer laws you can probably get your money back

I would like to know how I can setup email in Mac so I can get a 'read receipt' once the recipient has opened my sent email.
The process is described here, though that is several years old. As far as I know it still works in 10.6.8. However, use it at your own peril. Also note that just because your messages request a receipt does not mean that the recipient's email client will send one - even if the client has the capability, many users will have it turned off. Apple's Mail hasn't the capability.

The instructions on Apple's website *****. It says that Microsoft Hotmail is an option when it isn't.
Follow the steps below to set up your Hotmail, Outlook, Live, or MSN email account on your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account… > Microsoft Hotmail.
Enter your email address in the email field.
Enter your password in the password field and tap Next.
Choose the account items you would like to sync, and then tap Save.
Microsoft Hotmail is NOT an option on my iPad air. So, does anyone else know how to set it up?

Anyone knows how to import Mac Outlook 2011 mail into Mac Mail 5.0?
I know this is an old question but with the new OSX Lion and Mail 5.0, maybe someone has a simple solution. Given all the new features of OSX and Mac Mail 5.0, I wish to dump Mac outlook 2011 completely but I don't know how to transfer all my data from outlook to Mac Mail, If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know.
