Anyone know how to use this user-unfriendly Ipod Shuffle?

I cannot believe it could possibly be this hard to add music to an Ipod shuffle. With my mp3 player I just drop music into the appropriate folder. Done.
How in the **** to I add music to an shuffle?
I have a masters degree in IT and 10 years experience, and I cannot believe that people LIKE Mac's and talk about how easy they are to use and there is no simple way to drop music into an ipod and play it!
Thank god this was a gift from work, I will NEVER purchase a MAC product, ever, period.

Unfortunately for me, simply plugging in the iPod
shuffle doesn't seem to work. I've installed my
library with iTunes, plugged in the iPod, let it
auto-sync, hit the 'eject' button through iTunes,
unplugged my iPod, plugged in my headphones, hit
'play', and watch the little light blink green and
orange, alternating, for 2 seconds which, according
to the sheet included with the iPod, means there's no
music. And so I say to myself "***? I just had
iTunes copy music over itself. Surely these two are
'made for each other'?" Well, maybe not. I then
restore my iPod and repeat the process with the same
conclusion. I've tried this on one computer with
Vista, and one (different) computer with XP. Any
chance it's a bad iPod? I have a nano and love it,
but this one's quickly losing the favor of myself and
my wife.

The wustion that should be asked and answered is what format. encoding and bitrate is the music iTunes copied?

Does anyone know how to use this iMessage? I chose a friend who has an iPhone and I chose his email and his phone number, but the SEND button is shaded and not clickable. If you have the iPhone with iOS 5 on it and you setup iMessage with it and then start using it, then (Your cell number) is automatically registered with iMessage. (Remember Apple at this stage do not have telephone numbers registered but only e-mails. You can then use your cell number and vice versa with your friend on iPhone and iPad.
If you only have the iPad and not the iPhone and someone else you know that only owns the iPad and not iPhone with iOS 5, then you would only use the e-mail to send via iMessage
When you send a message on the iPhone, the SMS 'send button' is green. If it's an iMessge, the 'send button' is blue.

to figure out which users have administrative privileges, open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences; each user other than the Guest User will be shown with a description of either “Admin” or “Standard”. It’s typical for the first user created on a Mac to be an administrative user.

Please upgrade your plan to Web n Walk plus. One of our users on T-Mobile UK had this to report back to us:

The only way it will restart is to pull the mains lead out of the imac, put it back and try until it will start.
This only happened after reinstalling. Only Apple OS was on the imac and so it must be an issue with the software I believe.....
Anyone know how to cure this problem please?

This isn't a fix, more a workaround I used when I had wake from sleep problems that lasted from some point in 10.6.x, through 10.7 and into 10.8 (got fixed for me in 10.8.2). It seems to be connected with Bluetooth failing to wake up properly:
System Preferences>Energy Saver and set 'computer sleep' to 'never'.

Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:

// Get reference to the b0 button

// Set the icon of the b0 button to the icon retrieved from the hidden button

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.
