Anyone know if there will be a 15" MacBook?

I'm on the verge of upgrading from my ibook, and I'd love to be working with 15" screen (MBP), but I'm a huge fan the ability to swap in memory and a new 7200rpm SATA drive with MacBook. have a pretty hard time justifying the extra $$ for a slightly larger display and what really is just a better GPU (don't place a lot of utility on illuminated keys, etc.). so.... would love to get a 15" MacBook !!
anyone think there's a decent chance? (although I have to imagine it would be very cannibilistic with the MBP15)

I would not hold my breath as Apple even says "Meet the Family, Now Complete." Did you know that you can now extend your desktop to an external monitor (the same as XP). I think you should save you $$$ and get an external monitor for around $200 if you need the extra real estate. I have a nice 17" Dell 1704FPT display and it has been nothing but the best.

  • Does anyone know if there will be a new version of iPad coming out soon?

I was going to order an iPad for Christmas. Was wondering if there will be a newer version out soon? Never fails I get something and a newer/better one comes out soon after.

Apparently, I already know that, but wondered if anyone had heard of another new version coming up soon.
What do you mean by soon?  Tomorrow?  Next week?  Valentine's Day?
We're not supposed to speculate here, but if you look at some of the tech blogs, some analysts will share their views on this topic.

  • Does anyone know when there will be Camera Raw Support in Lightroom 3 for the Olympus E-PL2?

Just bought the Olympus E-PL2, shot some test shots and came home to open my RAW files to view them and discovered that they won't open in lightroom because the .ORF files for the E-PL@ are not supported. I figured since the E-PL1 was supported this would be too. There are some minor differences between the two like base ISO, etc. I am new to RAW and notices that E-PL1 users experienced the same thing when it first came out. How long does it usually take for Adobe to get new cameras compatible with Camera Raw? The camera is very popular and I imagine people will want to use the program to process their files. Will that speed up Adobe's process? And in the mean time, does anyone have any suggestions on what program I can use to open my .ORF raw files?
    Thank you in advance,
    Anthony

It isn't a plug in. It is a tool that allows you to read and write to the Exif data. See the web site for how to use
Keep a copy of your original files. It doesn't cause any problems changing the camera maker name.Usually this is the only thing that has actually changed between each version of the same camera in the RAW file. However until this has been checked by ADobe and they have created a specific colour calibration it Adobe don't support the format. This does not prevent you hacking the format as long as you understand what you are doing and that you keep original copies to import once Adobe support it
If manufacturers used DNG there would be no problems, but until they do you may have to wait for up to three months for Adobe support. However Adobe do usually issue a RC of the next version of LR and ACR before the full update, that may be any time now. Certainly there is a beta version that includes support for this camera as it has been used by reviewers

  • Anyone know if there will be a Garageband app for the ipad?

I'd buy one today if I could use it with Garageband. The flexibility of being able to take it anywhere and record/edit tracks, considering it's size and the excellent screen, would make it worth the money to me.
Just wondering if anyone has seen/heard anything about such an app. There would have to be a way to use the USB port as an input, but other than that, you could save the files the your mac but be able to move it around so easily...would be great.

Apple has not announced GarageBand for the iPad nor anything similar but that doesn't mean that they won't release something in the future. Meanwhile, there are companies like Sonoma WireWorks and Krasidy that are already producing multitrack recording apps for the iPad or iPhone. Sonoma has a version specifically for the iPad, so that might be worth checking out.
I haven't seen anything that uses the Dock connector to expand the input capabilities, but there may be something out there, or the new SDK may allow such a thing in the future.
    Regards.

  • Does anyone know when there will be an app to down load movies into Windows 10?

Excuse my ignorance on the subject however I thought Bigpond movies just uses a browser plugin? http://bigpondmovies.com/support#getting-started

Microsoft Edge no longer supports Activex plugins, so Bigpond Movies is impacted.  You could try installing Firefox or Chrome and using these browsers to access Bigpond Movies. I don't believe that they are reintroducing the download capability either. Streaming all the way.

  • Does anyone know when there will be the hardcover cases for the new nano?

when do the clear, plastic hard cases for 5th gen nano come out?

Yeah, I even found an iShade by griffin at my local best buy for the 5G the day that I picked up my 16GB edition for the gym!
They're out... Also you can buy from just about all manufacturer's online now... I think some stores are still waiting to bring them in, as they had to much stuff for the 4G....

  • Does anyone know whether Numbers will work on the MabBook Air?, Does anyone know whether Numbers will work on the MabBook Air?

Does anyone know if Numbers will work on the MacBook Air?

If you just downloaded "free" Numbers then yes you have the current version that runs on OS X v9.x
If you need a Mac data processor (not specifically Numbers) then Open Office.org, Neo Office.org both have spread sheet (aka "number like) apps included with them. They also are free.

  • Anyone know when Apple will bring out a patch to fix the volume problem you get on mac mini after downloading OS 10.8.5

Anyone know when Apple will bring out a patch to fix the volume problem you get on mac mini after downloading OS 10.8.5?

Only Apple knows the answer to whether or not there is a verified problem and if so when will a fix be released.  As is their custom, Apple does not talk about these things and the rules of these communities prohibit speculation about future udates or upgrades. It is probably safe to say if a fix is deemed necessary it will be called OS X 10.8.6.

  • Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the new nano iPod to connect to a FS-2 iPort?

Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the new nano iPod to connect to a FS-2 iPort?

IIRC the very original Bose Dock had the old 30 pin wiring and was designed initially for the iPod
If you have that version then you will need a converter to the later wiring ( sans firewire) as in Scosche .
and then the 30 pin to lightning Apple adapter
In theory it should work but who knows.
If you have a later one which already works with current devices then just the lightning adapter
It is important to get the genuine Apple adapter I have several and all work fine in several scenarios
Avoid the eBay knock offs most only charge

I have not been able to use facetime on my iphone 5 and my daughtes ipod 5 since yesterday...does anyone know if there are any issues with apple?

As these are user to user support forums, there will be no official response from Apple posted here.
Basic forum ettiquette is search before posting, so why post again if you've already searched?  Seems rather unintelligent.
