Anyone know of a Script to sort Safari bookmarks?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there is a script I can use to sort the Safari 3.0.2 bookmarks?
Any info or any leads would be much appreciated.
Thank you for taking time to read this.

  • Anyone know what a "script locking feature" is?

Not sure this is the right area for this but...
I've been trying access the setup interface on a Belkin Wirelsss router (F5D7230-4) to enable some sort of security. Everytime I tried to access the interface, which should be visible at 192.168.2.1 I got nowhere. Then I noticed Belkin had a free tech support line and decided to give them a ring.
The guy I spoke to told me that my OS (10.4) had certain features that barred access to the web setup interface and that I need to contact Apple to get the 'script locking feature' turned off on my mac. He couldn't tell me much else when questioned - or why other similar interfaces were accessible (my Netgear DSL modem for example).
Does anyone know anything about this feature? (Does it have anything to do with Apple script??) And how can it be disabled?
    Thanks in advance.

Ahh, good suggestion - and so blindingly obvious I overlooked it completely! Will give it a go.
(I've actually been diagnosed clinically allergic to Explorer but I might just risk it)

  • Does anyone know if I can update my Safari on my OSX 10.5.8? Thanks.

Does anybody know if I can update my Safari on my OSX10.5.8? Thanks.

Only if you upgrade OS X. Options are outlined below:
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase a redemption code at the Online Apple Store: OS X Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. Use the code to redeem a download of Mountain Lion from the App Store. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later.
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model
                 Identifier 5,1 or later.
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later.
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later.
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • HOW TO SORT SAFARI BOOKMARKS IN ORDER

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to sort the Safari Bookmarks in order from A to Z so that the sub folders are in order from A to Z??? If so, please advise. Also, please advise if it is possible or not to sort bookmarks in Safari.
    Thanks,
    relaxed

Safari doesn't sort bookmarks. You need to use a third-party solution for that:
    Safari Sorter (free).

  • Anyone know how to delete an app icon bookmark?

I'm using an iPhone 4 with the 5.1 iOS.  I downloaded an app for LG which turned out to be just a Safari bookmark with an app icon.  It looks like a regular app but when you click it - Safari opens and it takes you to the LG webpage.  Now I want to get rid of it and I can't.  It doesn't appear in the list of apps in iTunes in the Sync Apps area, although it does show up on the phone and in the phone panel in iTunes. When I click on the app icon in itunes (in the phone panel) - it highlights it, but there's no X, and right-clicking doesn't do anything and pressing doesn't do anything either. It does not appear in my list of bookmarks in Safari either.  Does anyone know how to get rid of it?  Thanks!

nevermind - figured it out.  thanks anyway.

  • How do you sort safari bookmarks

How do you sort bookmarks in safari? Why does apple not allow you to do this?

    Hi,
You can manage your Bookmarks anyway you like.
    Start here.  http://www.cultofmac.com/how-to-manage-safari-bookmarks-efficiently-macrx/35616
If you want to alphabetize a Bookmark folder just move it to your Desktop. The Finder will automatically alphabetize the list of Bookmarks for you then just drag it back to the Safari window.

  • Does anyone know the apple script or unix command in ARD that allows me to send keystroke commands to computers on my ARD network ? thanks !

I am trying to cue computers through keystroke commands using ARD
I want to know a unix shell or script command to hit keystrokes on my ARD machines.
EXAMPLE... I want machine X  to press the letter K.
I am also wondering if you can send multiple commands doing this , multiple keystrokes with built in delays
    Thank you

    Welcome,
I use the "System Events" handler, e.g.:
tell application "System Events" to delay 5.5
tell application "System Events" to keystroke "K"
tell application "System Events" to delay 0.5
tell application "System Events" to keystroke return

  • Does anyone know why after upgrading to Mavericks, Safari will not display PDF files, is there a solution?

I cannot get Safari to display PDF files, it shows a blank screen with the comment that Safri has blocked PDF, however when you unblock it still does not show the PDF, I have had to rely on Firefox for this, which I find not too good. Any help very much appreciated.

  • Getting iCloud Safari Bookmarks to sync successfully and consistently across all Windows OS on Parallels ?

    Hi there....
Does anyone know how to successfully sync your Safari Bookmarks for Mac on iCloud across all browsers and operating systems setup in Parallels software.
Currently when I open any of the Windows OS on Parallels they mess up my Mac bookmarks with duplicates and extra bookmarks and I have to go through the whole Timemachine restore bookmarks process to get them working again as I had them.
It would be great of anyone out there just had a fail safe step by step guide to getting my bookmarks to sync consistently across all devices, browsers and operating systems from OSX Mavericks to Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
I have asked an Apple Expert previously about this but he couldn't figure out how to get this to work either.
Any comments or suggestions most welcome.
    Regards,
    Anthoy

Bump again! Nobody else has this issue?!

  • Cleaning up Safari Bookmarks across devices

I have a MacBook Pro, Ipad2, Ipod5 and Iphone6 and I would like to clean up the Safari bookmarks and reorganize them across all devices. I use FireFox on my MacBook Pro and those are the ones I want to put in the Safari browser on all of my mobile devices as well as the MacBook Pro. I have clicked on Safari to be in the Cloud for all of my devices in settings.
I deleted my MacBook Pro Safari bookmarks and then imported my FireFox bookmarks.
But those bookmarks do not appear when I synced my mobile devices. I don't see any choice during sync to replace Safari bookmarks on the device with those on the MacBook Pro. All of the bookmarks on my mobile browsers remain in place even with a fresh sync.
When I switch off "safari" in Settings-ICloud on the mobile devices all my mobile device bookmarks disappear but the new bookmarks did not appear when I synced with the MacBookPro.
When I switched on the "Safari" Settings-ICloud all my old bookmarks came back, not the nice fresh bookmarks I've put on Safari on my MacBookPro.
Does anyone know how I can get the Safari bookmarks on my MacBook Pro to replace the jumble of Safari bookmarks on my mobile devices.?

If it's a Network issue, then Go to the System Preferences>Network panel
    - Location - set up a personal location by clicking on the drop down menu and selecting "add a location". Use a name familiar to you. Once established, select "apply".
    - Next, click on the "Show" drop down menu and select Network Port Configurations. Only Airport ought to be checked. Move it to the top of the list (you can drag it). Select "apply".
    - Back to the "Show" menu, select "Airport". Click on the TCP panel. There, enter 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 (separate lines) in the DNS servers box and select "apply".
Creating a personal location, plus adding the DNS codes seems to speed things up. Otherwise, the "automatic" function has a tendency to "search" for available locations, hence creating the lag.
Also, remove the other networks from the list by highlighting/clicking the minus button if they are not necessary for your computer's operation or cable connection.
Let me know if you are using an Airport Express or Extreme unit, as there are additional changes you can make to speed up the connection.
Lastly, in the Finder, go to your Utilities folder and select "Terminal". Once the screen is open enter lookupd -flushcache and press return. This clears out the DNS cache. Once done, quit Terminal.

  • Anyone know good transcribing software?

This probably isn't the place to post this, but I really didn't see a good category on the discussion board, so if there's a better place, just direct me.
I lot of my job involves transcribing interview off my digital tape recorder. I know there are Windows-based programs (like Dragon) that allow you to dock the recorder with the computer and upload the audio for transcription, something that would save me a lot of time. Does anyone know if there's that sort of software for Mac and where I might be able to get it?

    Have you checked out iListen?

  • The autofill feature worked on my iPad 2, but not on the New iPad. Anyone know why?

The autofill feature worked on my iPad 2, but not on the New iPad. Anyone know why?

Go to Settings>Safari>Auto Fill>On .... Names and Passwords>On .... Use Contact Info>On. Make sure that your contact information is correct.
Then quit Settings and Safari completely and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    See if that helps.
