Anyone know the size of the fan in the top of the base?

i need to know for replacement purposes. thanks in advance. also, what is the thermal paste all about? where do i put it? why?

The fan model number is 922-4677 (I believe). I have the instructions saved as a pdf if you would like. I originally downloaded it from http://www.whoopis.com/computer_repair/ but the site seems to be down today. Let me know if you want the guide.
The thermal paste is needed in order to transfer the heat properly in the computer. Because the processor is in tight quarters it can get quite hot. There are some metal posts that help to conduct heat out from the processor. If you do not put thermal paste between the two posts, they are unable to transfer the heat properly and you risk frying your computer. Any electronic shop (radio shack) will have this paste. I don't think that it makes a difference what kind you use (I bought the inexpensive silicon one). Just make sure that you apply it generously so that it does in fact help the heat to transfer.

Only Apple knows the answer to whether or not there is a verified problem and if so when will a fix be released. As is their custom, Apple does not talk about these things and the rules of these communities prohibit speculation about future udates or upgrades. It is probably safe to say if a fix is deemed necessary it will be called OS X 10.8.6.

to figure out which users have administrative privileges, open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences; each user other than the Guest User will be shown with a description of either “Admin” or “Standard”. It’s typical for the first user created on a Mac to be an administrative user.

If you Google ipod nano 6th generation manual, you can download the PDF manual. Here's a quote from page 19:
Transfer purchased content to another computer:
1 Open iTunes on the other computer and choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
2 Connect iPod nano to the newly authorized computer.
3 In iTunes, choose File > Transfer Purchases from iPod.
Songs that are not from the iTunes store can be copied to the new computer, and you just have to do File>Add to Library to get them into iTunes. And if you don't plan to continue using your old computer, you should deauthorize it because you only get 5 authorizations for iTunes store purchases, and this will cancel out the authorization on the old computer.

Draw the shape which is to be knocked out (a line in the example) in a layer above the logo. The colour doesn't matter because it will be made invisible.
Double-click in the space to the right of the layer's name in Layers panel to open its Layer Style window where advanced blending can be modified.
Set Fill Opacity to zero and Knockout to "Deep" or "Shallow" depending on whether the knockout should be limited to a containing Group.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

If you can hide the status bar, it would be an option inside the app. I have one or two apps where that is an option but in most apps it is not.

Whenever I attempt to play games on my macbook pro, mid 2012 edition, it heats up to an extreme temperature in the top-left hand corner of my computer. I recognize this isn't safe for the computer. Do you guys know a good mac cpu fan, if that is indeed the heated piece of the computer, that I can plug into my mac via USB port or something of that nature?

It's good that you're looking into something to cool down your MBP. Unfortunately, even good fans will only moderately - maybe 5•F at best.
