Anyone know what printers are macbook air compatible

I have a macbook air. Two printers we have at home, an HP deskjet 5500 and a Brother HL-2270DW Laser Printer are not compatible.
Is there a list of compabible printers available?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can check all compatible printers in this website > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 All of them work with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion at least, but they can support older OS X editions

    Hi Cereskit
Thanks again for the message. I've done the updates and have the App Store on my desktop. I went into it and searched for imovie but couldn't find the basic imovie, which I presume is what I'd need for editing?, rather than imovie 11 for £10.49, which is for making trailers, it seems. Also, were you saying that imovie would be free?

Thanks Charlie and Leroydouglas - apologies for not responding sooner - I am new to the Community and couldn't see how to respond to your queries without 'replying' to myself - hope this works.  I do not use Windows on my Mac but it is possible I ran ScanDisk on my previous Windows laptop.  Perhaps I have inadvertently brought these files to my Mac??  Can I delete the files or will I be losing something I cannot verify?  So appreciate your input - thank you.

  • Anyone know what these are called?

Hi. I am working on a book in InDesign and would like to add these little....tabs to the sides of the pages to help readers find different sections quicker than having to leaf through the pages.
So I have two questions. Anyone know what these blue and gold tabs on the page edges are called, and/or instructions on how to create them in InDesign? I don't think they'd be too hard to figure out, so I'm really more concerned with what they're called than anything else at this point. Any help would be appreciated, however.

    Hi,
    It is called Thumb.
There are two ways to do it in InDesign. Manual on the document pages.
Second using Master pages. If you will give details of the thumb (like a,
    b, c,... 1, 2, 3, .... etc.) I will make .indd for you.

  • Anyone know how to determine Macbook Air screen tech? Causing migraines

    Hi There,
Last year, I expereinced a lot of mild migraines which I've traced back to a new Macbook Air.
At first I had no idea of the cause (diet, stress etc) but have noticed that my eyes feel uncomfortable looking at the screen of my Macbook Air (I don't have this issue with my Dell monitor).
My eyes don't hurt per se, but I can detect a sublte jittering with the screen - which can turn into a migraine.
After doing a bit of research, it seems like most (but not all) LCD and LED LCD displays use something called pulse-width modulation to control brightness but after calling Apple support, they told me my MBA doesn't use this technology.
Does anyone know how to determine the underlaying technology in Apple displays so I can research the cauase of my headaches? I found a good Ukranian website (in english) that explained pulse-width modulation but it didn't really talk about other technologies.
Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Ben

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.
In any case, start by going to the editor preferences>general, clicking this button and restarting the editor:

  • Anyone know about excel for macbook air?

I'm looking for something like or similar to excel.
Can anyone recomend any program for me?
    I'm new for iOs.
    Thank you

Are you referring to what you should use on a Mac?  You posted your question in the MacBook Air forum, but iOS does not run on a Mac.
If you are really asking about a Mac, please follow Kappy's advice.  If you are asking about an iOS device, consider Numbers, which is Apple's spreadsheet program.

  • Anyone know what drives are compatible with 1.67ghz powerbook g4?

I need to change my internal hard drive and I've been told that I can use several drives: Ultra-ATA, ATA 100, ATA-6 (all 2.5"). I also want to ugrade the drive's capacity. I currently have 100gb, I want 160 or better. Also would like to use 7200rpm but i don't know if my laptop is compatible.
Can I use a drive that is an ATA-7? I found online, but don't know if I can use it since it is not ATA-6.
Any suggestions on stores, drives, models, etc

Hi, omarakil. You can use any 2.5" ATA-6 or ATA-7 drive; an ATA-7 drive will operate at ATA-6 speed. You can use a 4200, 5400 or 7200 RPM unit, but to the best of my knowledge there are no 160GB or larger 7200RPM drives on the market, so if you want a very large one (160GB or 250GB), you'll be limited to 5400 RPM. Western Digital is currrently the only maker of a 250GB ATA drive; other manufacturers' offerings top out at 160GB. You can't use any Serial ATA (SATA) drive. Anything that isn't explicitly advertised as SATA is almost certainly ATA, also known as Parallel ATA or PATA.
In addition to Macsales.com, look at ZipZoomFly.com, NewEgg.com, and Buy.com for very large selections of drives at highly competitive prices.

  • I have found several text messages on my phone that have 000,003,088 as area codes for the numbers,ex(000-000-6255)or 088-590-7490? Does anyone know what these are. I heard they are text messages sent through email. I also heard they are messages from dat

Trying to figure out what these text messages are.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Anyone know what these are used for??

    Hi All,
I am putting together some documentation for a CUP implemenation and I have come accross three configuration options in CUP that I have no idea what they pertain to and I can't find any documenation on them.
    1.  What is the "SAP EP LDAP" connection type used for?
    2.  What are SOD Review Process Rejected and UAR Review Process Rejected background jobs used for?

About "What are SOD Review Process Rejected and UAR Review Process Rejected background jobs used for?", I just talked to an SAP person today to explained to me that this is a job your sec admin would run for example in a UAR review when a particular user in a request had been "rejected" (e.g. "this person doesn't work for me, so I need to reject him so he can get sent to the right mgr").   When the reviewer (mgr) rejects the user, then the admin figures out based on the reason (e.g. changed jobs, terminated, etc) what action to take.  For instance may be to cancel the request for termination.  If the user has changed jobs, then the sec admin would need to go to the LDAP (or whatever source you use) to fix up the mgr<->employee relationship info, then run this "Process Rejected" job.  The rejected user will then be put into a new request, and the rest of the original request can be processed by the 1st mgr.   I haven't tried all this yet, but sounded reasonable to me...

  • Does anyone know what these are?

My touch screen stopped working around a month ago and yesterday i observed these little shapes to the top of my screen. Only visible at certain angles, could these little things have something to do with my problem?

, Hello and thanks so much for posting on the HP support forums.  It looks as if the digitizer in the screen is beginning to fail.  If you can please post back with the full model and product number.  With that I can can look up possible replacement options or find out what we can do to test this. Please include the operating system you are using as well.  here is a link to help you with the Model and Product Number. HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Please post back when you have a chance.  Thanks again for the post and have a great day.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
