Anyone know what the deal is with the Syncing?

My school recieved new laptops from the county for the teachers, while we recieved new accounts to the computers (eMacs). Now, there is the sync doohicky that wasn't on the school computers and it is now. Is this a new thing, or has it been around?

Most likely .Mac Sync and iTunes. Our music teacher, Mr. McCready played an itunes song in his office and transfered it to his laptop. I appreciate the help with the question, though.

Well, I recently checked apple.com, and the "pre-order" button has been replaced with the "buy now" button. This is a very good sign that the iPods will begin to ship soon! There is still no exact date, but I expect that they will ship within the next 3 days. You should get an email when they have shipped.

Itunes 10.5 is cutting songs off before they're finished ... it's happend on several songs. Worked fine before 10.5, I've checked the song info ..stop time is correct .. anyone know what's going on with 10.5

When you say "rebuild your library", do you just mean to import songs from your CDs, etc.? What about songs that have been downloaded from Itunes? I'm obviously having the same problem and I'm seeing a lot of people asking the same questions, but really no solid answers yet? I'd say my description matches Auntiheather's above - about 1/3 of songs, etc. etc.

Logic asks for my serial number every time I reboot the computer. Anyone know what gives? I restored the program after a hard drive crash and now I need to enter the serial number every time. Why doesn't it remember the code?

After a computer crash I had to reinstall the whole system using Migration Assistant. The User ID is NOT the same as the original computer. And now every time I reboot the computer and load Logic the program asks me to enter my Serial Number with a "Licensing" window. Why can't the copy protection see that I have already done this? Am I missing some Pref file, or is it in the wrong location? The program works fine once I enter in the number and insert my Logic XSKey (from an older update). Thanks.

Do you run automap 4.8/4.9? If so, then the chance is that automap is the culprit for slow undos/redos on LPX 10.1. Delete the Novation controller in the LPX controller surfaces. You find it under preferences/controller surfaces. If that is the solution for you, then uninstall automap. You find the uninstaller under applications-automap.

The iPad uses AirPrint technology to print to a printer. Check this Apple support page to see if your printer is listed as being AirPrint compatible.

If your printer works with AirPrint you will need a Wi-Fi network in order to connect. That Wi-Fi network does not need to be connected to the Internet. As James Ward4 says, you'll need a Wi-Fi router to set up your network. Most routers require that a computer be used during the setup process. Perhaps you could use someone's computer to do the setup if you do not had one yourself. Once the router is set up you should be able to print.

It started to pop open about 3 months ago and is just getting worse and worse. The trackpad still works but I've been using a mouse most of the time. I need to change my internal hard drive and I've been told that I can use several drives: Ultra-ATA, ATA 100, ATA-6 (all 2.5"). I also want to ugrade the drive's capacity. I currently have 100gb, I want 160 or better. Also would like to use 7200rpm but i don't know if my laptop is compatible.
Can I use a drive that is an ATA-7? I found online, but don't know if I can use it since it is not ATA-6.
Any suggestions on stores, drives, models, etc

Hi, omarakil. You can use any 2.5" ATA-6 or ATA-7 drive; an ATA-7 drive will operate at ATA-6 speed. You can use a 4200, 5400 or 7200 RPM unit, but to the best of my knowledge there are no 160GB or larger 7200RPM drives on the market, so if you want a very large one (160GB or 250GB), you'll be limited to 5400 RPM. Western Digital is currrently the only maker of a 250GB ATA drive; other manufacturers' offerings top out at 160GB. You can't use any Serial ATA (SATA) drive. Anything that isn't explicitly advertised as SATA is almost certainly ATA, also known as Parallel ATA or PATA.

Thanks for the link but none of those described the problem. No error message pops up. It just says "Accessing Itunes Store" but it never actually does. This only occurs when my iPhone is plugged in though.
