The second paragraph in that article that you referenced calls the ability to do this a "bug". I assume that Apple found the bug, and fixed it.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Does anyone know how iCloud resolves conflicts? (iOS save games)

Hello all,
We're having some users report an issue with our App that their save game is being nuked when they close the App, sing in to iCloud and then re-open. We have a number of leads we can follow, but first thing is first; Does anyone know how conflicts are resolved by the iCloud system? What it does internally?
Scenario:
Achieve some amount of progress through an App.
Achieve some other amount of progress through an App from a different device.
Sign into iCloud on both.
iCloud obviously decides which data to use, but how? Is it literally just a "last write to file wins" case?
Another question is, does anybody know if iCloud would act strangely/not at all on a device which was jailbroken? We have a very small number of users reporting this issue so that may be another likely situation.

Yes, we are fully supporting iCloud. It's a very rare case that we get this report from users and no solid repro steps have yet been given. Many users have successfully played on multiple devices with iCloud enabled and their save game is perfectly intact. There just seems to be an edge case where it's possible that a call to iClouds synchronize and what it actually does in that function is resolving an older save file. So knowing what the internals of how it resolves conflicts will allow us to add another layer with our own conflict resolution specific to our App.

Rudegar hit the nail on the head.
You can't delete any of the "built in" apps, such as settings, calendars etc.
If you have downloaded a third party app and you are unable to delete, I would advise trying a Soft Reset just to ensure your OS hasn't bugged out.
You can do this simply by Holding the "Home" button and the "Sleep" button at the same time for around 15 seconds (until you see the apple logo, then let go).
This wont delete any data and just simply "reboots" your device. You can then attempt to delete the application again.
If this fails, do a back up of your device and restore/update. (ensure you are on latest iOS, currently 4.3.5).

I was told that if you are using a tabbarcontroller, and you want to hide it during rotation, you should override didRotateFromInterfaceOrientation and resize the view inside it and also hide the tabbar itself. But how do you hide the tabbar?

works great, that is you dont have to set hidesBottomBarWhenPushed in the controller before you pust it. You can just hide the rotatingFooterView in willRotateToInterfaceOrientation. But the problem is when the tabbar is hidden, it just leaves a black space. There is no way to bring the middle view to the front. I tried playing with changing the height as well as bringSubviewToFront but no success. I feel that we are close, but not yet there...

My form have several buttons with an icon.
I create a item named 'UI_ICON' and set the value the directory of icon path. But when I deplop the form on the webserver or run the from IE 5.0. There are are no image shown.
BTW: I have converted the image format from .icon to .gif.

I'm using an iPhone 4 with the 5.1 iOS. I downloaded an app for LG which turned out to be just a Safari bookmark with an app icon. It looks like a regular app but when you click it - Safari opens and it takes you to the LG webpage. Now I want to get rid of it and I can't. It doesn't appear in the list of apps in iTunes in the Sync Apps area, although it does show up on the phone and in the phone panel in iTunes. When I click on the app icon in itunes (in the phone panel) - it highlights it, but there's no X, and right-clicking doesn't do anything and pressing doesn't do anything either. It does not appear in my list of bookmarks in Safari either. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Thanks!

The feature has been removed to make safari even less useable. You need to download a third party browser like atomic web browser to get the functionality you want back.
Like many new IOS 7 "features", safari on the ipad is a FAIL.
At least you can now bury safari in a folder containing hundreds of icons that you can only view 9 at a time.

The SMS links thing is highly annoying. You don't have to copy/paste however. You should see an icon like this: (>) to the right of the text bubble with the link. Tap on that, the in the screen that opens, tap "Visit".
Alternatively, you can tap twice directly on the link, then hold your finger down after the second tap.
Still unnecessarily difficult, but not as bad as copy/paste.
What I don't get is why can't I find any mention of this change or how to fix it (if even possible) elsewhere online?

I have had iOS 7 since beta 1 and I love iTunes Radio. After the official release my iTunes Radio icon dissapeared and became a genius one instead. This is really frustrating anyone know how I can get iTunes Radio back?

I have this issue too on my iPad. I went to the multitasking screen (double click the home button) then force quit iTunes (swipe the iTunes screen shot upwards) then relaunched iTunes and it appeared again. I think it is a bug as I've had to do this a number of times. Hope this works for you.
