Anyone make a portable FM transmitter for iPhone?

I'm looking for a clip on the bottom FM transmitter that is portable. Not interested in one that works through the car with a cigarette lighter adapter. Anyone make one that has an iPhone form factor?

Its called the iCarPlay http://www.monstercable.com/computer/productPageComputer.asp?pin=2084
It's pretty simple theres 8 preset stations you can use, there is always at least one that comes through clearly, It works great for me, but it depends more on where you live.

is there a car charger and fm frequency transmitter for iPhone with IOS6?

Here is something interesting about car chargers and the iPhone 3G:
    From Macworld:
On to the power adapters. Here’s the story: We learned a while back that iPhone 3G doesn’t support charging “via FireWire.” The thing is, there are lots of devices out there that don’t actually have a FireWire port, but are technically FireWire chargers because they’re sending power on the dock-connector pins that were used for power by the FireWire interface. There are a lot of reasons for this, chief among them the fact that the FireWire spec allows as much a 18 volts, while USB is a 5-volt connection. Since cars provide 12 volts of power, many if not most car-chargers used the FireWire method to send power.
However, in the interests of space and simplicity (i.e., not having to engineer for two separate power paths), Apple has dropped support for FireWire charging with the iPhone 3G. This means that many accessories won’t charge an iPhone 3G. Borchers said that Apple gave accessory developers a strong hint that this was going to happen a while ago, but he said that some companies have continued to implement FireWire-based chargers despite the warning.
But there’s some hope in sight: Borchers told me that at least a couple of third parties will be releasing converters that will pass through the dock connection, but convert the power to a USB standard. That adapter may make many of those charging devices come back to life

  • Can anyone recommend an FM Tuner Transmitter for Visio

I was gonna buy the belkin FM Transmitter II, but read a couple of reviews on it - and to cut it short, the product's been hammered a lot. Anyone know of a better FM Tuner that's on the same price range or just above it by 0 bucks?
Things like these makes me miss my Ipod in regards to accessories tsk tsk.

I like the iRi'ver Portable FM Transmitter AFT-00, <a href='http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=727493&type=product&productCateg oryId=pcmcat330005002&id=778763859' target=_blank>link[/url]. Works great, can use any stations, and no batteries to replace. You may also find others from brands like Sony, and Monster Cable. But they are not in the price range you are looking for. IMO its worth the extra dollars.Message Edited by DM on 02--2006 07:30 PM

  • FM Transmitter for IPHONE

I have a FM Transmitter for my Ipod and am wondering if there is any reason I can not use it for my IPHONE. It is a Kensington model# K33185. It fits into the port on the bottom of my phone but I am more concerned if the fact that it also acts as a battery charger would cause any damage to my iphone battery. Has anyone heard if there are any issues with this?
    Thanks

Mainly it might not charge the battery in the 3GS.

  • How do I make the most of contacts for iPhone?

Hi, I've had the iPhone 4 since Dec, 2009. So I know very well how to use it. I've been re-watching the iPhone adds, and I really like how well the contacts are organized on the ads, and I was wondering, how can I make my contacts list look good and organized for each contact? How do you do this? any advice will help, I really want to make the most of my iPhone.

What do you mean good and organized?
If you want to add more information to the contact card, you can tap on the contact card of the person you want to edit, then select the Edit button at the top left corner. This will provide you with all the different options that are available to you to add.
At the very bottom there is one that says "add field", tapping on that gives you a few more options like Job Title, Department, Instant Message, Birthday etc.
This article says iCloud, but it's the same process even if you don't have iCloud:

  • Portable Power Supply for iPhone 3G

    Hi,
I am looking to buy a portable USB power supply for my iPhone 3G.
I will be flying next month, so I need something to provide additional power while I am in the air.
I have searched around, and found:
IGO® POWERXTENDER UNIVERSAL AA BATTERY-OPERATED CHARGER
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-HO&product=2739104
IGO POWER TIP-A133 (adapter for iPod/iPhone)
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-Tips&product=2739128
I live in Canada (so I can't buy from places such as Amazon.com) and would like to keep the cost to a minimum (I don't fly all that often).
I am wondering what people recommend for an affordable portable power supply, that accepts USB?
    Thanks for your time.

There is power lost when using these chargers. Loss due to current creating heat in the wiring, loss in the iPhone battery that is being charged due to resistance in the battery, and loss due to the semiconductor devices used to manage the charging process. Not all of your 1000 mAh "ends up" in the iPhone battery.
I said "more than half" and that is literally true but a little pessimistic sounding. Maybe 70-80 percent. But I do not know. It will not be 87 percent. That's still good, to me.
Here is a quote from the instruction sheet for my 1200 mAh Richardsolo battery:
"If you have a 20-30% charge remaining in your iPhone, a fully-charged backup battery will bring the iPhone back to about a full charge. Once your iPhone is below 20% remaining battery charge, you may
not quite get a complete recharge from the backup battery, but close."
I find those percentages to be about right.
Regarding Amazon review, I think that is true only for an iPhone that is only partly discharged, not completely discharged.

  • Can anyone recommend a good fm transmitter for the car?

  • Can anyone recommend a bluetooth barcode scanner for iPhone?

I'd like to be able to integrate a bluetooth hand-held barcode scanner with the iPhone, but can't seem to find any on the market that are compatible w/iPhone, just Windows compatible (Blackberry, HP, etc). I want to be able to scan book barcodes and lookup pricing on Amazon for a book shopping + selling business. Don't even mention the RedLaser app b/c it won't work with Amazon and is painfully SLOW! Thanks!

but can't seem to find any on the market that are compatible w/iPhone
That's because there aren't any. Bluetooth in the iPhone doesn't have the required profiles to allow communication with a barcode scanner.

  • FM transmitter for iPhone 5?

Are there any available yet? I can't find any. When could some start becoming available?

i'm also having trouble finding one, i'm seriously considering just buying one of the ones that plug into the headphone jack instead of the dock connector, not ideal but they are fairly cheap and will do the job until some official iphone 5 fm transmitters are released.

  • FM Transmitter for iPhone 4?

I have an older car ('92) that does not have a working cigarette lighter, or the 12 volt port. Is there something available to me that I can use to stream my music through my radio?
Also, the radio is newer, but no bells and whistles, so no USB port or anything.
    Thanks!
