Anyone managed to install an Audigy 2 ZS platinum on RC1 x

I've being trying to install my audigy card on RC x64 pretty much all day and I've pretty much being stuck all the way through, I've tried:
- Installing the vista x64 driver with and without driver signing protection (SBAXVSD_PCDRV_US_2_0_0000)
- Using windows update drivers
- Using the xp x64 driver (SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004)
- Extracting the drivers using winrar and then running the setup from the driver file (seem to install fine but nothing detected after restart)
- Installing the driver using the Device manager (get a setup cannot find file error)
All in all, its totally screwed, if anyone knows some other crazy method to sort this out PLEASE HELP!

i know you said you ran the setup from the extracted files but what i did was manually install the drivers using the device manager and at that i was only able to install the multimedia part of it not the creative game port part if you did do it EXACTLY (lol emphasis on that) the way it shows on the explanation then i apologize for misinterpreting what you said but if it was a similar way just try it word for word on the explanation i made and if your unclear on any of the steps let me know cause im not to sure i wrote it clearly enough but ehh if you have any problems let me know k
(oh god im a terrible speller lol ^_^)
p.s. try using 7 zip for it. i mean i seriously doubt that could fix it but you never know especially with how picky vista seems to be lolMessage Edited by ryokowashu on 09-9-2006 04:8 PM

  • Has anyone managed to install airport/bluetooth manually?

I am aware of the issues as discussed ad nauseum (and yes I was sold one of the old exterme cards ahead of my purchase of a quad!)
I know where to buy the correct kit from US but would like to know whether anyone has managed to install it manually (yes I know it is not user-installable and it affects the warranty)

Yes, I have the Powermac g5 quad and I tried two of them. The first one barely worked and the second worked for only short spurts and its very difficult to install. I had the same luck as others who tried that product on this forum. I ended up buying a usb keychain 802.11b/g from ZyXEL p/n AG-225H. Some of the boxes at CompUSA advertised that it was MAC compatible if you downloaded a driver from us/zxel.com/ag225h. It works for several hours at a time and then a kernel panic crashes my computer. I have talked to ZyXEL and they believe that its just one bad unit. I going to return it tomorrow and get a new one. If it still crashes they want me to work with there Apple expert to troubleshoot and fix the problem.
    Hope this helps....Tracy

  • Has anyone managed to install RAID 0 with 975x PowerUp ?

Out of curiosity, has anyone on here managed to install XP on RAID 0, using 2 SATAII drives ?
I've had problems (another post) ... but I was just curious if anyone has managed to do it.
If so, can you confirm ...
    a) what slots in the mobo you put your SATA drives in (there is that single 'special' SATA connector!)
    b) what driver did you use for the F6 method.
I just want to see if anyone has managed to do what I have utterly failed to do ...
    Thanks,

Are you still having problems installing windows on RAID? PrvtMsg me if you want some help.
Incidentally you should be using two of the five main SATA ports, enabling RAID in the SATA section (forget the JMicron - disable it)
Next you should be able to enter the Intel RAID config Mgr WHILST the system is POSTing, and set up your RAID volume from there.
This should enable you to use the Intel RAID drivers on a floppy disk.

I have 2 seagate 7200.10 (perpendicular recording) drives in RAID 0 on the intel controller, no problems at all.  This config rips, its unreal, I'm sure it gives all of raptors except the new version a serious headache, haha.
Really? what sort of benchmarks are you getting? I use HDTach for HDD Benching.

  • Has anyone managed to install aperture 2 with a 12" G4 laptop?

Mine runs Leopard 10.5.2 with a 1.5 Ghz processor and 1.25GB of memory. The system checker says it's fine but it tells me my graphics card will not work it properly. My graphics card is the GeForce FX Go5200.
Has anyone managed to get it installed, it's blinkin annoying that i cannot load it on this laptop?

I've got it running now on my 12" 1.25 PB with 768Mb of RAM, it took some fiddling but it is running now. On launch it tells me 'The version of ImageIO installed on your computer is not supported by Aperture' but still gives me the option to continue and from there it launches as normal.
It appears that my Nikon D3 files are not supported but earlier cameras like my D200 are fine. My PB is running 10.4.11 btw.
I'm not sure I'm allowed to explain how I got it running here, I've no wish to contravene any forum rules but you can contact me at flateric1 AT mac.com and I can give you my iChat name to talk you through it if you wish.

  • Anyone managed to install sogo?

    hey guys,
did anyone out there manage to install sogo ( http://www.scalableogo.org/ ) on arch?
i'm always failing trying to compile libfoundation.
    cheers

Timm, you have to install gnustep-base and gcc-objc. Then add /opt/GNUstep/System/Tools to the PATH
    export $PATH:/opt/GNUstep/System/Tools
    and execute
    ./configure --gsmake=/opt/GNUstep/System/Library/Makefiles
    make
But unfortunately there is at least one header file missing: NGExtensions/NSObject+Logs.h

  • Has ANYONE managed to install Vista under Boot Camp on a second drive?

As I understand it Vista cannot be installed on secondary drive because of the "Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for install" error message when selecting the install location because it needs a Primary Drive.
In the Microsoft Knowledge Base they recommend removing the primary drive to overcome this but I tried and it failed.
Do I HAVE to go out and buy XP (which allows installs on secondary drives) and then upgrade to Vista.
I'm so darn frustrated with this issue I wondered if anyone has managed to do this successfully.
    Thanks
    Aln

No problems here. I have Vista 64 Ultimate running on a different internal drive, and I didnt remove my primary OSX drive to do this. In fact it worked without a hitch. There must be something you are doing wrong in the bootcamp preparation phase.

  • Anyone manage to install Windows 8 on new Macbook air?

    Hello,
Got a new "June 2013" MacbookAir 13" 8GB 256SSD and I've been trying for days to install Windows 8 PRO 64-bit using Bootcamp. No joy. Tried both a USB key and an external DVD drive. Same problem all the time: in the Windows 8 setup, I selec the country and language, press Next and it tells me that a "DVD media driver" is missing. I browse to the WINSTALL and BOOTCAMP directories on the USB key which Bootcamp created, it doesn't find any drivers.
If I use Windows 7 32-bit, it gets to the country/keyboard selection and then freezes.
Is it just that Bootcamp doesn't support Haswell yet? That's a pity cos it means I need to keep two laptops.
    Thanks for any advice,
    - Alan.

    Got it to work finally.
Used BootCamp Assistant to download the Windows drivers to a USB key and create a BootCamp partition. Don't use it to create a USB boot disk.
That's my biggest tip - use a DVD not a USB boot disk.
Also, if you get a "media driver missing" error, then get a different ISO image and burn it to DVD. Don't use IMG files converted to ISO files.
When Windows setup boots, you'll probably need to click on the advanced drive options and re-format the BOOTCAMP partition. Otherwise Windows will say that it can't install on it. Be careful that you select that one.
During the setup, Windows will reboot. Remember to hold down the Alt key when you hear the dong and select the Windows DVD (first time) and the Windows drive (second time).
After Windows installs, install the BootCamp drivers in WININSTALL\BootCamp on the USB key by running setup.
Takes maybe 15 mins to install Windows 8.

  • Anyone managed to install windows 10 on MBP 2015?

via bootcamp. I tried so many times but it does not work. The laptop reboots while creating the windows partition but the windows installation does not start. Any idea? I know I can use Parallels etc but this question is about bootcamp.
    Thanks

I understand the pain. I have done it all and managed to accomplish even the Bios updates. Don't ask me how because I have been through so many machinations that I am not sure. I am not even sure if everything I have is correct and there is no way I can find out. All attempts to have HP "fess-up" has fallen on deaf ears. They absolutely refuse to do what should be done. Instead they wish you to pay for their support. That is something I would not suggest since I do not trust their answers and they have no way to guarantee their work. I had no problem with Microsoft. I let them take control of my computer and everything pointed to bios. My situation currently is that restarting is a crapshoot. It takes multiple restarts to get a solid screen that won't go black. This suggests the nvidia environment. Also I have nvidia crashes while processing  once i do get up. These seem to be caught and corrected by Microsoft notifying me of the nvidia and bios problems. I could not even get HP to define their error statement, regarding the bios update, that my hardware did not meet the systems requirements. One positive suggestion I can make to resolve these problems is to NOT buy HP hardware in the future. It  is obvious they are going downhill. They have tried to get out of the business before. Perhaps they should. FYI: I was originally VISTA, updated to Windows 7, update to Windows 8.

  • Installing x64 Audigy 4 Pro Driv

    Hi
Just wondering if anyones managed to install the Audigy 4 x64 drivers? I've got the beta 2 release of Vista but I just get the error that the install has timed out. Anyone got any help?

    Thanks
Just got it working, for those who need help, run the installer, but dont touch it, instead, go to the temp folder and copy out the installers files to somewhere else. Then go to that folder and go to Support -> amd64 then run ctzapxx and chose "overwrite existing shared creative audio drivers" then click ok, worked for me )

  • AUDIGY 2 ZS PLATINUM PRO : 8-Channel (7.1) Playback in WINDVD 6 Platinum doesn't work proper

    Ok here's the deal.
I have a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Furthermore I own WINDVD 6 PLATINUM (incl. Booster pack) which supports 8 channel audio.
My speaker system is an analog one. The 8 speaker Creative Inspiron one.. don't know the exact name.
I just did a clean installation of Windows.
I am running windows XP Home SP2 with all latest updates.
Furthermore I installed all Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro updates there are.
    Anyways..
Whenever I switch to 8 channel (7.) playback from within WinDVD only the center and the 2 front channels work. The side (surround) and rear channels aren't working at all!
I get the same problem when I switch to 7 channel (6.) from within WinDVD.
When I click on test (in WinDVD) to see if the channels are working.. the test noise only appears in the front and center channels. However once it gets to the rear channel there's nothing.. and at the side left channel there's this quiet odd noise.
If I switch to 5. (from within WinDVD) mode.. everything is working perfectly... but 5. only..
I want to take full advantage of my soundcard.. and even though WinDVD supports this soundcard.. it doesn't seem to work.
Any other application... CUBASE SX2 or games such as Call of Duty work perfectly fine with all channels.
    Can anyone help me?
Can you recommend any other 8 channel software DVD playback software?
    Thanks
    - Ben

first of all your questions ain't stupid...you got to learn/understand once right?
**bleep** 3 yrs ago i thought i knew digital audio (mp3/wave on PC and Philips DCC recorder) but then came Dolby Digital & hardwaredecoding...LOL... Lots of differences in channelprocessing & so misconfiguration possible.
Well I hope you didn't uninstall your dvd player software... I mean software audiodecoding like matrixmixer(that you can find in codecpacks, all **bleep** that uses directx this because most of it is max 6bit LOL) ..your talking about all your extra dvd software.(but you don't need their extra audio playing features). Just select the sp-dif audio in WinDVd PowerDVD or NVDVD whateverDVD and then go check the creative soundcard speakersetup(not the windows speakersetup , but prefer to use the creative surroundmixer (click the THX logo/icon under in the creative mixer, and calibrate analog speaker output) etc.
You only need the player 4 dvd playing acces. (DVD-V DVD-A) (prefer the dvd-player for dvd-A in sp-dif mode because then you'll see that some dvd-A's have some videoclips or images. and do check the site of www.slysoft.com and score it in any way )
.. by the way don't forget this about your analog output 3.5mm jacks on the back og the card:
    first channel = 3.5mm 3-pole jack (stereo)
second and third channel = 3.5mm 4-pole jack (stereo portable camera cable works (3xrca).
so don't use stereo jacks on the 2nd & 3th channel...
You can use a portable stereo camera cable because the've on one side 3xrca(yellow/white/red) and on the other side a plastic 4-pole minijack (plastic=preferred because you probably need to make the 4-pole jack smaller with a metal file (be careful not to harm the cable) these cable's are standard and so very cheap. standard meter long.
Final joke: It's nice to have THX@Soundcard + THC@head greetings from a late in the evening Amsterdam NL.Message Edited by www_96KHz_tk on 05-24-2005 08:20 AM

  • Audigy 2 zs Platinum, Vista 32 Ultim

    Hello all,
I'm having a problem installing the Audigy 2 zs Platinum on Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit. The computer boots and sees the card as a "Multimedia Audio Controller" in the device manager. It offers to automatically install drivers, which (naturally) fails. I've downloaded and installed the Vista drivers from Creative support, but after rebooting, the situation remains the same. I've tried pointing a manual driver install at the C:\ dri've, to no avail.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!
    darthbith?

The Audigy 2zs will install 2 devices in Windows. One is the sound and the other is a game port. If you hear sounds then it's working correctly. As correctly as the windows update drivers allow anyway. The game port isn't supported. There won't be any problems if you leave it like this, however if you don't like to see the not installed device then install the game port support pack from here.
A better option yet would be to install the daniel_k drivers from here. These will also install the game port drivers, and offer better sound with more features as well.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum 5.1 Surro

I just built a new computer and put a clean install of Windows Vista 32bit and I installed an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum card and I downloaded and installed the vista beta drivers, but I can't get 5. surround to work. I originally installed the old drivers from the CD that came with the card and I was able to set up 5. and it worked, but i started having terrible sound issues and then upgraded to the vista drivers. Now, surround won't work. Anyone have this problem or know what to do?

Ok what you need to do is go to the thread labeled "No Surround sound when playing music" by lakersyo, follow his instructions and im willing to bet that it will fix your problem.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum: No sound

I've owned my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum for years now and encountered small quirks and problems with the card but nothing major...until now. I can't figure out what on earth is causing the problem. I've tried installing the card in my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th PCI slots numerous times with multiple BIOS settings and only once succeeded. Unfortunately the sound gave out after a reboot for no apparent reason and I haven't been able to restore it since.
I'm installing the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum to an Asus P4C800E-D. I've disabled the OnBoard 97' Audio, removed parallel and serial IRQ reservations (IRQ3, IRQ4, and IRQ5) and all remaining IRQs are set to available. I've tried using the web update to get the latest drivers and software, followed the knowlege base's guide to uninstallation every time, and there doesn't appear to be any problem with the installation software, drivers, or hardware in device manager or any of the configuration/diagnostic tools.
I'm running Windows XP Professional x86 and I believe the card installation actually succeded before I updated to SP3 (I've been reformatting quite a bit so I've tried it before and after updating to SP3). I just don't know what to do, I've never had this much trouble installing it before even without disabling the onboard audio. I'm asking, No! Begging! Please, PLEASE have the answer to my troubles oh merciful Creative gods! /sob

  • PLEASE HELP Audigy 2 zs Platinum issue, reading noise from Line i

Hello, any help at all you can give will be greatly appreciated.
I recently installed my Audigy 2 zs Platinum on my computer, it was working fine until I began to record, It was working fine for the first 2 hours of recording however we disconnected the microphone from line in 2 and connected a bass guitar, then it started registering nosie from the line in 2 jack, we the disconnected the bass guitar and the noise continued. I have completly uninstalled all the creative drivers and reinstalled them, as well as checked the cable connections. I have noticed some other odd behaviors, if I plug headphones into the front microphone jack I do not hear static only a sort of blipping like that of a metranome. however if i use my speakers i hear large amounts of static with the blipping in the background, I also tested my speakers with a walkman and they play sound perfectly. All diagnostics tests have come back with everything passing. Any help you can give at all with this would be greatly appreciated.
    I am running:
XP Pro with service pack 2 (installed a long time before sound card)
    nvida graphics card
    Pentium 4 with hyper threading
    Syntax mother board
    tdk cd dri've
    maxtor hard dri've

    Old_School,
A line level out shouldn't cause any problems but it may still be that there is a hardware problem here. To help diagnose this, I would ask that you cleansweep and reinstall the card. Use the instructions here to do this:
